What just happened? Why does my leg hurt so badly? Oh my God, stop the pain. Beverly was being tackled to the ground by Terrance. Oh God, why the pain?

“Sabrina, are you okay? Sabrina talk to me.” Caston is pleading, pulling me into his lap, rocking me. Paramedics are once again swarming me. Caston’s covered in blood. My blood. I can’t say anything to him, but I want to calm him down.

Caston rides with me to the emergency room. Nothing is said between us, we just hold hands.

Arriving in the ER we’re immediately swarmed by nurses. Caston is frantically trying to get answers. I’m losing so much blood that I keep getting dizzy.

“Why the fuck is she still bleeding? Where is the fucking doctor?” Caston screams pacing the hall.

“Please, move out of the way, Mr. Black. We must get her up to surgery. She is losing too much blood,” a doctor in blue scrubs and a plastic mask says.

I hold onto Caston’s hand as long as I can.

“Don’t give up on me, baby.” Caston whispers in my ear just as our hands are being pried apart by the nurses.

Through my fog I see Caston sink to his knees.
Baby, I’m okay. I’m going to be okay. I won’t give up.
I thought I said before falling into darkness.
