Eddie grinned. “Don’t worry. I watched only long enough to
make sure he had no intention of hurting you, then I left.” He wagged his
eyebrows at her. “I trust you had a great time?”
An unstoppable smile crossed her lips and Lynn couldn’t help
but answer. “Yes. It was amazing.”
“That’s what I’d hope. I know it was the first time you had
sex since my death.” He touched her cheek and the tender look in his eyes eased
her discomfort. This was Eddie. This was her late husband so talking about sex
was okay and felt right to her. “Lynn, you are a vibrant, beautiful woman and
you deserve happiness. Take it. Maybe he can give you the one thing I never
could.”
Her brows pursed showing she didn’t understand. “You lost
me, Eddie. My life with you was full and content.”
“But childless.” Eddie sighed. “We may have been a great
couple together, enjoyed the same things and were the best of friends, in bed
and out. But we weren’t the right combination to make kids and I knew you
wanted them.”
Lynn tried to lower her gaze but he didn’t let her. His
ice-cold touch to her chin made her lift her face to look upon him again. “I
knew, Lynn. I always knew.”
“It wasn’t important,” Lynn hurriedly replied. “We had each
other.”
“And that was fine for then, but this is now,” Eddie
informed her gently before shooting a glance toward the heavens as if someone
above had spoken to him. “I gotta make this quick. Seems you made a friend with
a ghost named Jasper.” She nodded and Eddie continued. “He told me you’ve been
wanting to speak with me.”
“Eddie, I love you,” she sputtered. “I miss you so much.
There are so many questions that I can’t think straight and sort them out to
ask.”
“You don’t have to ask,” he said. “I’m safe and happy. I
want you to be happy too. My years with you were the most precious of my life.
Our time together was perfect. I’ve watched over you in your time of need and
never left your side when you were down.”
“I know,” she whispered. “I felt your presence. But why
couldn’t I see you or speak to you until now?”
“Because you sought me out of desperation,” Eddie explained.
“When you seek something too hard, your vision becomes dark and cloudy,
obscuring the very thing you wish to find. I was there. I’ve always been there.
It took time for you to relax and reach out to me out of love and not the fear
of being alone.”
Lynn digested his words. He was right. She’d wanted to find
him so desperately she’d overlooked the signs he was with her all along. In her
heart, she’d known he comforted her when she was down, but her despair and
loneliness blocked him from her eyesight. “I’ve been a fool.”
“No, not a fool,” Eddie said. “Just scared of being alone.
You don’t have to be alone any longer. I want you to believe that our love of
the supernatural helped prepare you for your future.”
“My future?”
“Yes,” Eddie continued with a nod toward the bed. “Your
future if you choose to accept it lays waiting in the other room.”
Lynn’s heart skipped a beat. “You mean with Padon?”
He nodded as he asked, “Do you love him?”
She thought for a moment. This was something she suspected
but hadn’t been ready to accept. It seemed to have happened so fast.
“Love knows no boundaries or time constraints,” Eddie
proclaimed and it astounded her that he knew her thoughts just like Jasper had.
It had to be a ghost thing.
Taking a leap into the unknown, Lynn admitted, “Yes. I love
him.”
Eddie kissed her cheek and she shivered from head to toe. “I
know you do. Now go in there and make love to him while the sun is rising.”
In a flash of light and bright colorful stars, he was gone.
Lynn wiped a tear from her eye as she whispered, “I will always love you,
Eddie.”
“And I you,” returned to her on a whisper from the heavens.
“Your heart is ready to love again. So go, ride that sexy spontaneity wave into
the future. Make me proud.”
With the next change of color in the sky, Lynn’s laughter at
Eddie’s spontaneity reference died and she froze as something else he said
blazed bright inside her brain. What did he mean by make love to Padon while
the sun rose? Then it hit her. Akira’s strange words from earlier in the
evening replayed in her head.
May thy morning bring ye love for it be love which
enlightens thy heart.
Fin’s words wafted through her head as well.
Let the
heart guide you and your spirit shall be free.
Bits and pieces from conversations throughout the night
scrolled behind her eyes like a stock exchange ticker tape. OhMyGod! They’d
been giving them the answer to the curse in roundabout ways, but neither of
them had been smart enough to decipher their cryptic messages.
Until now. Thinking back, she felt like such a fool. The
answer had been in her heart all along and she’d been too blind to see it. She
raised her eyes heavenward and issued a prayer she knew he’d hear.
“Thank you, Eddie.”
Lynn ran, dropping the towel in her wake, and dove onto the
bed. Padon’s eyes sprang open as she kissed him. With both hands, she grabbed
his cock and rubbed it as if it were a magic lantern with a genie hidden
inside. It responded instantly, getting harder with each stroke. Lord she loved
this man and the way he reacted to her touch.
Padon broke from their kiss and captured her hands. But it
didn’t stop her. Using his grip on her wrists as leverage, she straddled his
hips and seated herself on his newly sprung erection. He let go of her hands
and followed her pace.
“Mi wee one, ye have a strong appetite,” he practically
growled as he fucked her.
In a panic to beat the clock and the sun, she rode him
faster and faster, until she almost couldn’t breathe and her insides gushed her
orgasm. Lynn gasped, “Padon, I love you.”
His hands circled her waist and rolled them so he hovered
over her with his shaft buried to the hilt. “And I love ye, mi wee one. Ye have
been mi salvation during mi hours o’ cursed daylight. A vision o’ ye lingers in
mi head and ye live within mi heart ta keep me sane when I can no move ta touch
ye until nightfall.”
She was his salvation. So he thought of her while lying
cursed within the stone. Lynn kissed him with every ounce of the love she felt
in her heart. Padon hugged her tight and devoured her mouth as he pumped slowly
in and out of her. The tension built in her core and readied her for another
round of lovemaking, Padon style.
He nibbled her lips, her chin, then attacked her nipples,
licking and sucking from one to another as if not wanting to cherish one more
than the other. He paid them equal affection. Lynn wiggled beneath him. The
intensity of his touches made her skin tingle, sending tiny pulses of need to
her pussy. It was as if every molecule of her body was connected to her clit.
When Padon increased their pace, Lynn matched it. Lifting
off the mattress, grinding her pelvis into his, taking his cock as deep as she
could possibly take him. She gripped his shaft with her inner muscles stroking
him with each pass in and out. He groaned and she knew they both were so close
to coming again. Over and over, faster and faster they fucked until sweat
beaded off them. Their bodies glistened in the sunlight. Lynn’s eyes widened as
their orgasms hit, taking them both over the edge.
She screamed in ecstasy and joy. Tears flowed freely as she
showered his face with kisses. “Padon.” She kissed him. “Padon.” She kissed him
again and again, too happy to speak and tell him he was free.
He caught her face in his hands as he managed to hold
himself from crushing her by resting on his elbows. “Lynn, mi wee one, I love
ye. But—”
Whatever he was going to say was lost as his expression
switched to sheer surprise and wonder. He shoved from her and the bed to stand
in the morning sun streaming through the open balcony door. Holding his hands
out in front of him, he stared at them as if they weren’t real. He spun around
to face her.
“How?” His brows bunched with his utterly confused question.
Lynn laughed as she sprang from the bed and took his hands
in hers. She led him out on the balcony and into the full sunlight. Reaching
up, she cupped his cheek.
“Love set you free.”
He caught her wrist and kissed her palm, tugging her into a
hearty hug. He gathered her in his arms and spun around in the sunshine.
Holding her close, Padon kissed her nose, smiling down at her.
“Aye, mi wee one. Love has set mi free and ye are mi
salvation and the keeper o’ mi heart.”
Lynn grinned and waggled her eyebrows at him. “Ever made
love on the balcony?”
“No ’til now.”

A flash of light appeared in Gavin and Ericka’s bedchamber.
Gavin sat upright as did Ericka. She snuggled close to Gavin. Her eyes were
wide and the sound of her voice was filled with hope. “Good news?”
“Well?” Gavin questioned.
Akira grinned. “Seems there be another
brathair
free.”
The End… Until the next brother is found.
