“Don’t worry. They are actually good scouts,”
Hades assured her. “We should try to rest, it may be days before we
leave here.” They were just off the road pulled up to a gate with
no houses or even buildings within sight. The sun was shining
brightly but the wooded area they were in was shadowy. The
temperature outside was cool, but not cold. If they were here at
night that would change.

Dione moved to the third seat and promptly
went to sleep. Erebus growled when he realized he was stuck with
the second seat. It wouldn’t be bad, but he was a big guy, they all
were and with her and Hades seats leaned back so they could sleep,
he might feel trapped. They all settled down and it worked out
okay. The gods all went to sleep immediately but she wasn’t so
lucky. She noticed Hades moved a lot while he slept. She wondered
what dreams were disturbing him.

The other two gods slept better, they didn’t
move or make any noises in their sleep. Doc finally settled in
falling asleep too. She woke to a tapping sound on the window,
Aaron was back. She unlocked the door noticing that Dione and
Erebus had woke and were sitting up. Hades was up too and had moved
his seat into a sitting position. Zot was getting in on one side
while Aaron got in on the other side.

“We found the place, watched for hours before
we realized no one was there,” Aaron said.

“They left?” Hades asked his look
disgusted.

“They’ve been gone for a few days. We had no
hope of catching them or recovering our god. They were probably
gone before we ever left home,” Zot added.

“Was there anything left? Any clues, lists,
computers?” Doc wondered.

“I found one list and I think it was possible
places for them to go. I can’t be sure and I’m not sure why they
left, but they did leave someone behind,” Aaron said. He and Zot
exchanged a worried look.

“Alive or dead?” Doc asked. She already
suspected the answer judging by the looks on their faces.

“Dead,” Zot said. “It was a female, and old
one.”

Doc pulled out her phone and a business card.
She put in the number and hit send. “Hello, this is Gemma
Jones.”

She knew the gods could understand every word
of the conversation she had with Captain Kenton as she explained
what had happened and told him about the body they had found and
the address they had found it at. When he asked her what she needed
from him, she explained that she wanted him to call in the
information on the body, tell them it was from an informant, and
get her the information on the victim. He agreed and she believed
he’d do just that.

“What do we do now?” Hades asked.

“Let’s look at the choices they had for a new
location.”

Zot pulled out the list. There were three
places with complete addresses. All of them were in Illinois, one
in Springfield and two in Peoria. “Let’s go to Peoria first since
there are two locations,” Doc suggested.

“Maybe we should split up and cover both
cities?” Zot asked.

“They aren’t that far apart, somewhere around
an hour or two. We’d save little time, it might even cost us time
since you would have to rent a car. Let’s just go now.” Doc put the
last address into the GPS and it started giving them directions.
They would arrive in time for supper.

“What will we do once we get there?” Aaron
asked.

“We’ll check out the address Doc picked first
since it will still be daylight. If they’re there, we’ll move in
immediately. If not, we’ll get a room, eat supper, and have an
early night. We’ll hit it predawn tomorrow and check out the other
two,” Hades explained.

It was between two and three hours before
they arrived at the location. It was a little house just at the
edge of a small suburb. It was a little run down, peeling paint,
broken porch railing and sagging steps. There was a large picture
window facing the road they were pulling off from which had a crack
running through it. A shadow passed over the window, someone seemed
to be looking out at them.

“Two of us need to go to the door and check
things out. Who wants to come with?”

“I’ll go,” Hades offered.

Great, he’ll scare them to death. “Okay,
Sweetheart, let’s go.”

Doc slid out of the SUV and waited for Hades
to join her before walking for the door. “You’ll need to smell and
listen for any signs of a god being kept here and I’ll do the
talking.” Hades grunted which she took for approval.

They walked down the sidewalk and she
hesitated before stepping on the first step. She was sure it would
hold her, but Hades was another matter. She stepped up to the next
one and heard the wood groan as Hades stepped up behind her. So far
so good. They made it up to the porch and she knocked on the door.
A little old lady opened the door, she was wearing an apron and
reminded Doc of someone’s grandma. The smell of cookies baking
wafted out the door making her think of Cher.

“Hello, did you need something?” the little
woman asked.

“Hello, I hope this is a good time. We’re
from the governor’s committee on aging and we’re out in the field
checking with randomly selected addresses to see if there is a
senior citizen present. Do you live here ma’am?”

“Yes, I do. My son found this place for me a
few weeks ago and I’ve just gotten settled in.”

“I’m glad to hear you have family looking out
for you. I just have a few quick questions and we leave you to get
back to your day.”

“Alright, would you like to come in for a
while? I can get you a drink, something to eat? I don’t get much
company.” The old lady smiled sadly.

“Thank you, we’d be happy to but we can’t
stay long. We have others to visit today.” Doc and Hades went in
sitting at the table where she had indicated they should sit. She
got them cups and set them in front of them.

“Coffee, tea, or water are all I have.”

“Coffee would be fine.” She poured some in
each of their cups before she set sugar and cream in front of them.
She put out a plate of assorted cookies for them to chose from then
sat down across form them.

“I really don’t know much about what is
available to seniors. My son takes care of all my affairs. What did
you sat your names were?”

“I’m so sorry we didn’t introduce ourselves.
I’m Gemma Jones and this is my husband, Hal. I didn’t get your
name?”

“I’m Cora Riddle.”

“Cora, do you think the state should take a
more active role in aiding seniors?”

“I think they should help those who don’t
have relatives to see to them.”

Doc pulled out a small notebook and scribbled
in it. “Do you feel like you personally get the care and attention
you need?”

“Oh, my, yes. I know I have it so much better
than others that I know.”

“I guess that’s all I have. A big part of the
questions deal with problems and you seem to have things in hand.
Thank you so much for the coffee, cookies, and answers.” Doc smiled
as she and Hades stood. Cora walked them to the door where they
said their goodbyes.

They got into the SUV and Doc pulled out into
the rode. “That was a total bust,” Hades said.

“Not total. We now know that the places on
this list are tied to Origin. Riddle, as in Carl Riddle, Origin
vice president. If we keep this place under surveillance or even
let Mark’s people watch it, they’ll catch him eventually. He may be
a good son, but he is one cold hearted bastard,” Doc said.

“Shit! I’ve heard of Riddle. He ordered a
hundred gods killed because they didn’t tell him where a god that
tried to escape went. He found out later that the god hadn’t
escaped but had been killed by a guard accidently and his body
hidden,” Zot said.

“I heard about that too,” Erebus said.

“I think that might be exaggerated a little,
but we need to catch him,” Doc said.

“Let’s go check in at the hotel so we can
have supper, I’m starving!” Hades growled. He was tired from a long
day and tired of hearing about all the atrocities committed on his
brothers by sadistic bastards that were still out there free.

The hotel was about ten miles away because it
had been selected between the two targeted location in Peoria. Zot,
who was good with technology of any kind, had made the
reservations, while Hades and Doc were at the first target. The
hotel was nice and it had a steak house next door.

They moved their bags into their rooms then
went to eat a nice meal. No surprise, everyone ordered steak and
the gods all ordered Porterhouse the biggest steak on the menu.
They sat talking when Dione mentioned the bar next to the steak
house.

“You guys are not going to a bar alone
again,” Doc said.

“No more bars until this mission ends,” Hades
agreed.

They all left together heading to their rooms
but Dione stopped to talk to two young women standing by the
elevators. It looked like someone was getting lucky by the looks
that were shooting back and forth between them. Erebus was lucky he
was sharing a suite with Dione. Zot and Aaron looked more than a
little put out. Doc and Hades got in the elevator, they just wanted
to get to their room.

As soon as they entered the room, Hades
pulled her into his arms giving her a kiss full of feeling. He’d
missed holding her all day long and now he just wanted to pull her
to him sinking deep inside her. He wanted them to merge together as
one so he could smell her, touch her, and hear the beating of her
heart as she lay sated against him.

“Let’s clean up first,” Doc suggested. She
started to undress as she moved to the bathroom. He started to
undress too as thoughts of sharing a shower began to excite him.
She walked into the bathroom in front of the shower to set the
spray and the water temperature.

She set it nice and hot, relaxing. She
stepped into the spray as Hades stepped in behind her pressing up
against her. She felt the hardness of his erection pressing into
her, she couldn’t wait to feel him inside her. “Mm, Baby, I see
you’re ready to go,” Doc growled.

“I’m always ready when it comes to you.” He
pressed her against the shower wall face first. This was going to
be quick and dirty. He bent his knees pressing the thick blunt tip
of his cock into her channel from behind. As it slid into her slick
entry, he enjoyed the feeling of her soft ass cheeks in his hand as
he squeezed them. He felt his cock hit bottom and he paused for a
moment to enjoy the feeling of being held inside her while he
allowed her to adjust to his thickness and length. It had been
nearly a day since he had entered her and she was so tight it was
as if he never had. Her muscles massaged his length making him moan
in pleasure.

He pulled out and plummeted back in, he moved
from side to side finding her sweet spots and moving to hit them
all. He knew most of them, but every once in a while he still
discovered a new one. She was familiar, yet still a mystery. She
squeezed around him making it impossible for him to move as her
sheath gripped him relentlessly. He made a sound, a cross between a
groan and a choking sound. It felt so good, it was almost painful.
He managed to pull free and sink in hot and hard. He moved faster,
harder as he felt every inch of her hot pussy cover him like a
glove.

Faster and faster, he hammered in and out
feeling almost dizzy with pleasure that built to new heights each
time they touched like this. She was the yin to his yang and
nothing was so wonderful as the loving they shared. He pistoned in
and out desperate to give her release, before he reached his own.
He tingled and it spread over him just as she screamed his name, he
exploded inside her coating her channel with white hot seed. They
finished up by washing each other, drying off, and going to bed.
They curled up together and let sleep take them away.

She fell asleep and her mind went back about
five years ago when she had been a fresh faced geneticist. She was
nearing the end of her latest four year stint with the army and
about to reenlist. The military had been good to her, for her and
she planned to stick with them. She’d been getting lots of calls,
letters, and emails from the company that was a leader in her
field. Origin was nothing if not persistent and they offered her an
incredible amount of money, but it had never been about financial
gain for her. They refused to go into details about what the
research they wanted her to do might be.

He waited for her on her front porch. “Hello,
may I help you?”

“You certainly may,” he said. He, being this
very attractive man a bit older than her, but not enough to matter.
He was nearly six foot and looked like he worked out. His curly
black hair was a little past shoulder length and his eyes a pale
blue. His smile was sexy and his manner, charming.

“What can I do for you?”

“Gemma Dennis?”

She hesitated a moment. “Yes, that would be
me.”

“You’re a very impressive woman. We’ve been
watching since you entered medical school and now that you’re
nearly through, we’d like you to think about working for us.”

“Who are you?”

“I’m Carl Riddle and I represent Origin. I’m
with their human resources department and we’re looking for people
like you to take us into the next generation in genetics.”

“I’m in the military. The army already has a
place for me.”

“Give me a chance to change your mind. Let me
take you out for dinner and drinks. I’ll make you an offer that I
guarantee will make you think twice.”

Doc examined him, Origin was the biggest
pioneer in genetics and this guy was so good looking. She hadn’t
dated in a couple of weeks and it had been a month or more since
she’d been drawn enough to a man to sleep with him and he’d turned
out to be a dud. This guy looked like he’d last all night long and
see to his partner’s pleasure. On the other hand, Origin pushed the
envelope of what she considered science should interfere with. She
had no intention of ever working for them. Everything they did
seemed to be classified and if they couldn’t tell her what she
would be doing before she took the job, well she wouldn’t take the
job.
