“Did I hurt you?” Concern shadowed his voice.

She shook her head, wiping the fine sheen of sweat from his forehead. “No, I don’t want you to stop.”

“You’re so tight and I don’t want to hurt you.” He nipped her collar bone, then swirled his tongue to ease the slight sting.

With her palms flattened against his shoulders, she pushed down as he thrust up. Buck squeezed her buttocks with each downward stroke then allowed her set the rhythm once she was fully seated.

Bonnie closed her eyes, savoring the sensual slide of their intimate joining. Safe. Secure. Home. Hers. Each slap of flesh on flesh left her body tingling and fighting for release. His arms tightened around her as his lips drifted  from her mouth to her breasts and all points in between. She rolled her hips as he squeezed and slapped her ass. She just wanted this moment to last forever, but the first ripple of her orgasm teased, built in intensity before crashing over her and dragging her under in a tsunami of ecstasy.

Her vaginal muscles massaged the hard cock moving within her depths. Buck fingers tightened at her hips, his nails biting into her soft flesh as he came in long ropey spurts. He dropped her head to his shoulder as he lowered them to the floor. She held him tight as her body shivered with tiny aftershocks.

“Totally incredible,” she muttered once she caught her breath.

“The next time will be better, I promise.”

She chuckled. “I don’t know where you went wrong, but my toes have yet to uncurl.”

With little effort he stood and cradled her in his arms. “Then by all means let’s see what we can do to keep them curled.”

Chapter Seven

Buck covered Bonnie’s eyes with both hands as he guided her onto the sidewalk. She grasped his wrists. Sunlight glinted off their bands as they paused. He drifted a gaze down her body, enjoying the way the cream halter-dress cupped her breasts and nipped in her waist before the full skirt skimmed her hips and billowed around her knees. She was simply breathtaking.

“Is this really necessary? First the blindfold and now this?”

“It’s very necessary. Just wait until tonight and I’ll show you something else we can do with the blindfold,” he whispered close to her ear. At her sharp intake of breath he grinned. “So behave dear wife.”

“I like how that sounds.”

“Don’t make me regret getting you two back together,” Dexter called from the porch.

“Mind your business.”

“You’re in public,” he reminded them.

“Keep an open mind.” He lowered his hands and waited while she shoved her the bandana onto the top of her head.

She stared at the single story sprawling duplex a moment, then faced him. “Okay. What am I keeping an open mind about?”

Buck held up a key. “It’s yours. Well ours. It needs a few things before we can move in, but you can pick out furniture and paint colors.”

Her eyes widened and filled with tears. “You bought me a house?”

He pressed his palm to the satiny softness of her cheek. “Yes.”

She launched herself at him, tossing her arms around his neck. He caught her and held her close as hot tears dampened his skin.

“Did I do something wrong?”

She moved her head back and forth on his shoulder. “No.”

“I always said I’d take care of you, sassy and I meant it.” He stroked the curve of her spine as she wrapped her legs around his waist.

She pressed her mouth to his in exuberant kisses.

“For goodness sake’s you’re wearing a dress,” Dexter said, a hint of amusement in his voice.

“A dress I can’t wait to take off of you after we tour the house,” Buck whispered in Bonnie’s ear. Already the heat of her thighs and her own special scent wrapped around him and hardened his groin further. If only her brother wasn’t here.

“This place is really mine—ours?”

He carried her over the lawn, up the porch and across the threshold. Even then he was reluctant to lower her to her feet. “Yes, this place is really ours.”

“What about your apartment?”

“The lease is up in a couple of months. Dex assured me our place will be done before then.” Buck clasped her hand as they walked through the foyer and stopped in the living room. Walls needed prime and paint, beyond the living room was the eat in kitchen which was totally gutted. “There’s enough land and such to expand the house as we see fit.”

“There’s no kitchen.” Bonnie shook off his hand to stand in the room.

He chuckled. “That’s because you have to tell him what you want.”

She whirled on her heel. her skirt flaring around her knees. “Tell who?”

“Me.” Dexter stepped forward.

“You?”

“Where do you think I’ve been disappearing to at night?” He grinned. “Oh that’s right, you’ve been otherwise occupied.”

She shrugged. “Well you’re grown you don’t need a keeper.”

He snorted. “Funny, I’ve been trying to tell my sister that for years.”

Buck laughed. “I’ll let you think about that while we look at the rest of the house.”

Bonnie leaned against the rough wooden railing as she gazed into the lush greenery of the backyard. She smiled as a tanned hand rested on either side of hers and warmth touched her back.

“This is really beautiful, Buck.”

“I’m glad you like it.”

She turned in his embrace. “You really did all this for me?”

He nodded. “I know how things were for you and I don’t want you to have those same fears.” He smoothed her hair from her face. “Can your job spare you for a few days?”

“Cal gave me the rest of the week off. What did you have in mind?”

“Well I have a load I need to drop in Texas and I thought we’d take a couple days and walk on the beach.”

She raised a brow. “The beach?”

“Yes. I booked a little cottage on a private beach.”

“And you want to do this after driving for 24 hours?”

He dropped his hands to her waist and urged her closer. “There’s a bunk in the cab. We’ll get plenty of rest.”

“I’ve never been on a trip that long.”

“Well there’s a first time for everything.”

Being a wife was easier than Bonnie expected. The hardest part for her were the days when Buck left for days on end. When he was home she spent time with him. And over the last several weeks he’d been away a lot. She could even forget that an old enemy was after her.

A shrill ring split the air and she hurried to the kitchen. This would be their last week in the apartment. Their new place was ready. Furniture would be delivered in a day or so and the appliances were already in place. She couldn’t wait until she prepared their first meal in her new kitchen.

She donned a pair of oven mitts, pulled down the door and removed the bubbly, fragrant cobbler from the oven. Her dear husband had a sweet tooth and his favorite was peach cobbler. A soft smile curved her lips. She had steaks marinating in the fridge and while he showered she’d toss the meat on the grill and they’d dine on the balcony.

Cobbler on the cooling rack and oven off, Bonnie placed her oven mitts on the counter. The last few days she’d been tired more than normal and she figured it had to do with the late night calls. She stifled a yawn and glanced at her watch. Buck wouldn’t be home for a few hours yet, maybe a nap would do her good.

She set her alarm, shed her clothes and donned one of Buck’s tee shirts. If she couldn’t sleep with him on a nightly basis, being surrounded by his scent was the next best thing, She stretched out on the bed and closed her eyes. Tonight she’d sleep with his arms wrapped around her.

Buck sniffed the air appreciatively as he pushed open the door to his apartment. After a week and a half on the road, the scent of peaches and spice was more than welcome. Feasting his eyes on a certain toffee-skinned woman would go a long way to assuring that all was right with his world again. And until he saw her, touched her and indulged in her feminine curves, he wouldn’t be satisfied.

He dropped his duffle bag on the floor, closed and locked the door behind him. “Hey sassy. I’m home,” he called. He tilted his head, listening. She usually greeted him at the door. “Bonnie?”

Bed springs creaked and he followed the sound down the hall. Sprawled facedown on the bed was the object of his desire. The sheet pooled low on her hips, teasing him with one tantalizing golden cheek. The corners of his mouth quirked upward. He’d take a quick shower and join her in bed.

Refreshed and ready to greet his wife, Buck knelt on the bed and smoothed a hand over the curve of her butt. She moaned and shifted. He smiled, then placed a soft kiss on her lips.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and held him close. He maneuvered until he pulled her on top of him.

“Now that’s what I call a welcome home,” he murmured.

“I’m sorry.” She ducked her head. “I slept straight through my alarm.”

He framed her face with his hands. “No need to apologize. Finding you wrapped in one of my tees, sprawled in the bed was an added bonus to join you.”

“I had everything all planned out.”

He traced the curve of her lips. “Did you now.”

She ran her fingers through his hair. “Well you’ve already taken a shower.”

“I have.”

“You smell so good.”

“So do you.” He shifted until he settled in the vee of her thighs. One of these days, he’d get her to stop wearing those ridiculous panties.

“I made your favorite dessert.”

“You are my favorite dessert.”

She giggled as his fingers trailed up her ribcage. “You can’t eat me.”

“No?” He shimmied down her body, dragging her panties over her hips as he went. She reached for him and he grabbed her wrists in one hand, while thrusting her thighs wider with his shoulders.

“Buck.”

He dragged his tongue across her slit, savoring her sweet slightly tart flavor. Too much time had passed, maybe it was time he spent more time at home than on the open road. He didn’t need to do the long hauls to maintain his lifestyle.

She flexed her hips as he curled his tongue around her hardened pearl. He sucked the little bundle farther into his mouth as he gently bit down. A trickle of her essence coated his lips and he wanted more. He wanted to hear that soft little scream that let him know she was close to orgasm.

But right now, he wanted to hear her scream his name and judging by the way her nails bit into his wrist he’d get his wish. He delved his fingers into her honey, always amazed at how tight she was for him and slowly thrust in and out. She responded, her hips riding his mouth and fingers. And if he wiggled his fingers just so...he was rewarded with a breathless shriek and her honey flowed into the palm of his hand.

He knelt between her legs, licking her honey from his fingers. “My favorite flavor.” He guided the tip of his cock to her entrance. In one powerful stroke he slid balls deep, relishing the silken heat of her tightness.

She arched against him rolling her hips and he seemed to sink a little deeper. Each time they came together their lovemaking was new and he had an insatiable desire to see if she’d make the same response.

Even now with one orgasm done, she was fast approaching another. He loved watching the way her eyes dilated as she tugged at her bottom lip with her teeth, or the fine sheen of sweat glistening on her flushed body. The first stirrings of her climax rippled around his cock while his own tingled at the base of his spine.

When she shattered around him, her pussy gripping and massaging like a silken glove he came. His release scorching nerve endings to explode in her pulsing depths. He collapsed next to her dragging her into his arms. She pillowed her cheek on his chest as they panted together.

“I can never get enough of you,” he said between breaths.

“This was supposed to happen later.”

He chuckled. “I love having dessert first.” He cupped her breast, stroking the nipple with his thumb. “I may have seconds.”

“Then you’ll never get dinner.”

He blanketed her body with his and stared into her eyes. “Dinner will keep. The only thing that keeps me going is coming home to you.”

Much, much later in the wee hours of the morning Buck trailed his fingers over the curve of Bonnie’s hip as she slept. Her warm breath tickled his abdomen as she shifted her head on his chest. A few strands of her silky brown hair caught on his beard stubble.

He did his best to love her thoroughly or at least until they were both spent from lovemaking. Her fingers were cool as they drifted low over his abdomen, tracing the raised white jagged scar that ran from his pelvis to his belly button. Her lips followed and he clutched at the sheets.

“What happened?” she asked sleepily.

He glanced into her face and smoothed her hair from her face. “Some guy shanked me.”

“I can’t imagine why anyone would do something like that. You’re the best man in the whole world.”

A smile creased his lips at the love and admiration in her voice. “You do remember what I did in my former life, don’t you? I’m no saint.”

“Yeah, I remember, but you’re still a good man.”

“Well don’t go bragging about it. I have a reputation to maintain.”

She laughed. “The security guard flinches whenever you come to my job.”

“He should. Every time you walk around he stares at your ass.”

“As long as he does his job, I don’t care what he does.”

“Well he’s ogling my wife.”

She climbed on top of him, straddling his thighs. “Well your wife is only interested in her husband.”

“Is she now?”

“Yes.”

“That’s good to know, since I find my wife very attractive.”

She lowered her head and covered his mouth with hers. He tangled his fingers in her hair as he grabbed a handful of her luscious derriere. He definitely loved his wife.

Over the next couple of days Buck noticed Bonnie dragging. She was happy, but anytime she sat down for a few moments she’d fall asleep. Like now. Her chin was cradled in the palm of her hand while her elbow rested on the arm of the couch, with her legs tucked beneath her.
