Sitting on Daria’s couch having a beer thinking about the meeting with her dad, just thinking about him irritates me. I think about everything he’s done to people and caused to happen to innocent people. I’m just glad I’m finally calming down, especially since he didn’t want her to know we met. I feel guilty about keeping it from her. Even though, hell, our entire meeting only lasted all of ten minutes. That’s fine with me. The faster he gets away from her the safer, she will be.
God, I’m ready for her to be home. I miss her like crazy when she’s gone. I’ve finally gotten her back and I really don’t want her out of my sight.
“Hey baby.” I stand up and walk over to her . “What are you doing home so early? I expected you around ten or eleven.”
“ That little dickhead Lucas, that’s on the team. He said some pretty assface comments to me in the hallway. He wouldn’t let go of my elbow so I kneed him in the crotch and punched him in the throat. Then Mack and I got into it about me hitting a customer. He said a couple of inappropriate things, so I quit. Then Lanie quit right behind me, so I’m sure Mack is having a great night now.”
Later we sit on her couch, snuggled up watching TV. I’m pissed and I plan to have a talk with Lucas tomorrow. She finally told me what happened tonight and that little asshole from the bar will be lucky if I don’t stop there, too. I know what happened in the storage room was not appropriate, but that doesn’t give people a pass to treat her like shit.
She stands up from the couch. When she bends over to pick something up, my t-shirt that she’s wearing rides up. She’s wearing those little lacy boy short panties. Damn, my cock just tented my boxers. I reach out and quickly slide her panties to the side, pushing my finger inside her folds.
“Oh. Cade, warn a girl next time.”
“Well if I’d warned you, I wouldn’t get that little gush of fluid.” I stick my finger in my mouth. She spins around and throws her arms around me.
Once we’re in the bedroom, I take no time dropping my boxers and putting on a condom. I bend her over the foot of her bed and run my finger over her already soaked heat. I barely snatch her panties down before I slam into her. Daria has always liked it a little rough. “Fuck, baby, you feel so good around me.”
I feel her squeezing me. “Damn, my greedy girl. Fuck. If you keep doing that, this isn’t going to last long.” I keep pounding into her. Our bodies slapping against each other. I reach down and press her clit.
As soon as the words roll out of her mouth, I know I’m about to lose it. I reach back around and grab her nipples, squeezing until she is coming all around my dick. All at once, I explode. I pull out.
“Fuck, babe, you are going to give me a heart attack talking like that.” I pull the condom off. “I do have to say, though, I’ve become a little spoiled and I’ll be glad when we don’t have to use these.”
“I know. I hate that feeling, but look at it like this. We’ll know Friday if we don’t need to use them anymore or if we need to use them for one more month.”
She smiles. “Yeah, me, too. It’s been a long day. I know you have practice tomorrow morning. Then we have Marshall duty tomorrow night.”
. “Hard to believe he’s already almost three weeks old. Plus I’m still getting used to the fact that my best friend is a mom. The next thing I know, she’ll tell me I can’t drink milk from the carton anymore.”
I walk to the living room and shut off her lights. When I come back into her bedroom, she’s already curled up in her bed. I climb in and snuggle up to her, pulling her on my chest. “Goodnight, baby.”
I had to get up this morning before her, so I let her sleep in. She looks so peaceful sleeping. I’m just glad she’s finally sleeping and eating. I see her boobs are mostly back, along with some of her ass. I gotta get out of this room before I say screw practice and stay in bed with her all day.
Making the drive to the practice field, I think about the shit Lucas said to her last night. I’m gonna have a talk with his ass today. Also I gotta have a talk with that new freshman who was there last night about Carrie. He needs to stay the fuck away from that psycho bitch. She’s just a STD or paternity test waiting to happen. She’s pretty much made it known that she’s searching for someone to be her paycheck. She just wants to marry someone with money or that will have money and after what she did to some guys on the team last year. I wouldn’t put it past her to trap someone.
“Look, man, I know you just transferred here. Daria is my girlfriend and she told me about what you said last night. She also told me that you put your hands on her, so I’ll explain this once. Don’t do it again. I don’t want to cause problems, because we’re on the same team, but I will beat your ass if you so much as breathe in her direction again. Do we have an understanding?”
“I understand that your girlfriend was coming on to me all night and said something about you having a small dick that couldn’t satisfy her.”
I feel like my body is on fire. I spin around and, before I think about what I’m doing, I have him pinned to the wall. Some of the guys break us up. Coach comes in and yells at me. “Cade, what in the hell is going on here?”
“Look, Coach, I’m sorry and I tried to just make my point known and walk away. But I’m not going to stand here while he says things about her.”
“That’s it, kid. You were on thin ice when you came here. After the shit that happened over at UGA, you are lucky I even gave you a chance. Clean out your locker and get the hell out of my locker room.”
“Here’s a little advice. Stay away from that girl Carrie. She’s about as much fun as a box full of snakes, and the snakes aren’t nearly as crazy as her.”
“Hey man, I’m just looking out for my team. That shit with Lucas I wanted to avoid, but he decided to try and trash my girl. I will not tolerate that. I wasn’t really worried about her defending herself last night, because I’ve watched her take men down. But I will not let someone disrespect her.”
When Cade came back earlier today and told me what that shithead Lucas said, I was ready to go kick his ass again. Then he told me about the coach kicking him off. So, I guess I got some justice. At least I don’t have to watch him play ball or hang with him at team events.
The timer goes off on my oven letting me know the lasagna is done. I take it out of the oven and, after I set it on the stove, I feel arms around my waist.
“Mmm, something smells great.”
He finally leaves me alone to get everything together so we can leave. On the car ride over we joke and laugh. It feels so natural He fills me in on how the team is shaping up for the year.
Gabby smiles. “Sounds so good. Also, Anna told me we are having a spa day Saturday while the guys watch football films and hang out with Marshall.”
“Yes we are. Cade and Russ felt like they needed some male bonding time with your husband. Plus, I don’t know if they are planning some initiation to the group for Marshall or if he’s just grand fathered in.”
Cade walks up beh ind me. “No one gets grandfathered in. I don’t care how little you are or who your daddy is.”
Once we start eating, Marshall decides he’s had enough of his swing. Gabby goes to get up and I put out my hand.
“It’s okay. I’m your Aunt Daria and your Uncle Cade… well, he still pee-pees in his pants from time to time, too.”
We hang out the rest of the night, taking care of Marshall. I hadn’t realized I dozed off until Linc wakes us up.
“Oh shit, Linc, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean for us to fall asleep. We were supposed to be helping you. Not the other way around.”
“Daria, its fine. It’s ten-thirty. Gabby and I got like a good three and half hours of sleep. Thank you; it was great. The baby is fine; he’s still asleep.”
“You were just a natural tonight. You looked so comfortable. So, if we are having a baby, I know we’re going to be okay.”
The rest of the week seems to creep by. Cade tries to talk me into getting a test from the pharmacy, but I want blood work. I know this early there can be false positives or false negatives. I need answers, not more questions.
“No, baby. It’s like when my dad left. I really didn’t care that he was gone, but I did care that my ‘dad’ was gone. Does that make sense?”
Lunch with my dad is actually lighthearted. He tells Cade about when I was three and got mad with my mom for brushing my hair, so I went into my room and locked the door. I took the pair of scissors out of the desk and cut almost all of my hair off.
It was definitely not as tension-filled as dinner the other night. When I realize that I need to get going because of my appointment, I’m kind of sad. Dad hands me a couple of business cards with agents’ phone numbers. That’s his way of letting me know that he’ll be leaving soon. I’ve already noticed that his driver and bodyguard have been replaced, which means they are feds acting as his men.
“Dad, I love you. I know that there have been times that I’ve said I didn’t, but I really do. So, please, call me when you are leaving. I don’t care if it’s just a hang up or a blank text with a smiley face. Just something.”
He pats my back hard as he hugs me. “I’ll see what I can do. I love you, too. Take care of yourself and your mother. I know I won’t talk to her before I leave. Tell her that I still love her like the day I met her. She checked me out at the local WinnDixie. I thought I’d never met someone who looked so much like perfection. I gotta go. I think some of my associates are starting to get suspicious.”
I watch him walk to his car and get in. I turn around and Cade takes me into a big hug. I know Cade loves me and that’s the only reason he came today. That says a lot for Cade’s character. I know he hates my father for the sheer principle of what’s happened to me but he’ll swallow his pride for me.
Suddenly I’m blown forward with Cade.
