The carriage began to move, but the prince said. "You have brought the poor bird with you out in the cold not without reason, so sing for me"

She cleared her throat and began to sing the first note. Her voice was clear as a winter night. The lark chirped cheerfully with. Lean had the feeling that they know more about Medea, when he listened to her singing, as if she was talking about. Her voice seemed to come from her heart and reflected her fear and doubt again. Something she grieved, so much the little bird also tried to cheer her up by his cheerful twittering. The prince could not turn away from her eyes. Her singing put warm to his heart. When she fell silent, he would have liked to have called for directly a song from her, instead he gave her enthusiastic applause. "Great!" He praised her, whereupon she blushed, but lovingly looked at him.

"I am pleased, if you liked it, my prince," she purred politely.

"I have never heard a more beautiful voice," Lean said honestly. "You have your lark really trained well."

Medea laughed. "You are mistaken! Not I have taught the lark, but you. Your gift is my dearest in life. "

While she sat across from him with her flushed cheeks, dark hair, the sparkling eyes and the warm smile, Lean felt a sudden affection for them like never before. Medea seemed not only to be a talented beauty, but also to have a good heart. He remembered how Heera had confided to him that her sister had always been in love with him. The whole kingdom would love it. However, although Lean She estimated she had him still strange, like most of the elect.

"Medea, would you do me a favor?" He asked urgently.

"Whatever you wish," came the prompt reply.

"Please stop to addressing me so formally! Otherwise I have a feeling to find myself in a negotiation and not a date. Please call me by my name. "

She nodded hastily and then whispered: ". Lean" He liked the way she said his name. In her voice sounded melodic and made him think of liquid chocolate.

"Would you tell me where we're going?" She asked timidly.

"It's a surprise!" He grinned back. "But I'm sure you'll love it."

The carriage turned into this moment right in the next village from. It was jerky because of the cobblestones on the ground and people were curious stand to catch a glimpse into the interior. Lean then waved and called on Medea, do the same. She went on this completely. Her joy was of pure nature. Lean she could already see in front of him, with a crown on her beautiful hair. She sat straight and had the head always slightly raised, which gave her an elegance without being snooty.

Their journey ended in front of a big, round building. Medea looked in amazement from the window. "The theater!" She exclaimed enthusiastically.

"Have you ever been in the theater?"

"Never! But I've always dreamed of. "

Lean pushed open the door and handed her his hand. "Come on, I want you to meet the actors!"

It made her happy to see him, how much Medea was pleased with his proposal. Unlike Erina and Daphne he seemed to have met this time with his idea on the head. When they entered the theater,  there were about a dozen people on stage. While half of them were busy with the stage design, the other half rehearsing a scene. There were only men, as was customary. But one of them was wearing a dress, the queen would be even with its splendor become envious. Ironically, she discovered this it first and threw himself theatrically his arm on my forehead.

"The Prince is giving us the honor and I have not cooked anything," he hooted, whereupon he drew Lean a grin.

"Shame on you something, my dear," he replied, kissing the man who wore a blond longhair wig, playing the hand. Medea chuckled at his side. The other theater employees were curious detail.

"Prince, what have you brought us here for a feast for the eyes?" Asked a tall man with broad shoulders, but friendly face.

Lean pointed to Medea, who did a polite curtsy before the men. "That, my friends, is the gifted equally as beautiful Medea! She has the voice of a nightingale! "

"Then let's hear your little voice, dear nightingale," the man asked, laughing in the women's clothes. Medea looked questioningly at Lean and when he nodded in agreement, they could be helping two of the men on the stage. Her eyes sparkled as she looked to the many rows of seats. She turned  happily in circles before she began to sing. This time much happier and freer than even before in the carriage. Lean could see how much they enjoyed it, to be on stage. It was as if he would see her in her element. While Erina had become ever smaller in society of nobles, Medea flourished among the actors on formally. The men began spontaneously to dance to their song, during a joyful playing the piano. Lean could not remember ever having seen a better performance is. He laughed of his lungs, as Malo, the female lead of the theater s, began to dance with Medea. She showed no fear, but let himself whirling him around the stage. Lean could not stop longer and climbed also to the other up. It replaced Malo and danced themselves with Medea. Here among the actors he felt comfortable. Ever since he could remember, he had loved the visits to the theater. He knew every actor by name and treated them like old friends, what they were for him.

After her little singing performance, the actors dressed for Medea and Lean two large armchairs on stage, on which the two of them sat in two thrones could watch them during rehearsals. For lunch there was roast chicken with beer from the nearby tavern. Lean was amused and pleased him every time he saw how easy Medea laughed at his side. She pulled the chicken off the bones like a real lady. The taste of beer on Leans tongue but he had to think of Heera.

"Can your sister really drink as much beer as she claims?" He asked Medea, without a second thought. But as soon as his words were spoken, the girl clenched at his side. "Heera has an especially big mouth," she said pointedly.

It was hard to hear that Medea was not good to talk to her older sister. Also Heera had already complained in Lean and given him the culprit. He nudged Medea grinning. "If I could wish for a big brother, he would like Heera. You know that she would always protect you, right? "

Medea looked at him curiously before she smiled yielding. "Yes, I know. But Heera is my sister, not my brother. If it were my brother, I would have no problems with it. "

"Why do you have problems with it?"

Lean found it enjoyable, not only with Heera, but also with Medea to talk openly.

Medea hesitated with her answer and screened e carefully his face. "I did not apply for you to be able to return home heartbroken need. Each girl close to you, is competition for me, even my own sister. "

He was surprised and at the same time impressed by her honesty. He would have said at this moment to her that she need not to worry , but that would have been a lie - even if she seems to be number one this one moment. She seemed to have everything he wanted for his bride. She was pretty, intelligent, talented, and she understood this fun. If he must choose today, she would have been his chosen. But there were still weeks ahead. Six other girls were still in the race and four princesses waiting to fight him. It was too early for a decision, so he just smiled at Medea. "You impressed me, Medea."

She blushed, without lowering his eyes. For a few seconds they looked at each other and anything else around them seemed to blur. But then Malo brought her back into the action when his Stein fell over directly into Medea's direction and her blue dress soaked. She screamed and scared the actor fell in front of her on his knees. "Dearest Medea, do not worry! I have wonderful clothes, you look for one of them out. "Medea disappeared with him backstage.

The day was already coming to the evening and Lean took on the royal visitors' gallery, while the first spectators flocked to the theater. The red curtain was drawn and Medea was still not back. More surprised was lean, as she opened the show and in one of Malos clothes came on the scene. Some of the spectators they saw and shouted enthusiastically her name, but Medea's eyes were on Lean. The people also looked up at him and applauded enthusiastically. He beckoned all smile.

"I want Prince Lean for the best day of my life thank" s Medea says in a loud and strong voice. "That's why I sing today only for him."

Malo handed her the cage with the lark and accompanied by the piano she began to sing. Lean closed his eyes, listening to her voice and forgot everything around him. He'd dreamed of her and this wonderful day.

When they returned in the dark to the castle, Lean  regretted for the first time that the day did not have more hours. He had enjoyed with Medea. They stopped in front of the stairs that separated their ways.

"Thank you for this beautiful day," Lean said affectionately, stroking naturally on Medea's cheek.

"I have to thank you!" She said, holding his hand tightly. They looked at each other straight in the eye and Lean felt deep inside a craving like never before. He wanted to be close to her - they kiss. That was the first time in his life that he really was hard to move away from a girl. It hurt almost physically to withdraw from it and to see the disappointed look in her eyes. He bowed to her and kissed her hand in farewell. "Sleep well!"

Medea's step was elated when she walked down the hallway back to her room. She could still sing all night, dancing and Lean can look into the eyes. The day in the theater was the most wonderful have been in their lives and would be topped by a wedding. But even if not, they would indeed break it, but at least you would be remembered as a warm fire inside her. She had expected that they would have to give up their love for music when she married the Prince, because it is not sent for a queen, like a circus woman travel about, but maybe she could love Lean, having to leave behind without something else for it. Maybe she could even help the arts to a greater role in society. As queen she could ensure that new theater built and the old ones were repaired. You could allow girls and women as an actor, although Malo had played its role as gracious Helena outstanding. he had offered her, the prince should be so foolish and opt for another, so she might like to marry him. Just the thought of it, she began to giggle again.

For the first time since she was in the castle, they really believed that they could do it. She liked Lean that he had not only said, but she had seen it in his eyes and felt in her heart.

When she saw standing casually in the hallway the other girls, she lifted her head a little higher. If the others think what they wanted, they'd let anyone spoil of their friends.

The curious Daphne went to meet her first. "You look as if you had a nice day!" She said. Medea smiled triumphantly and confirmed it: ". The most beautiful day of my life"

"Inasmuch as ye have done it?" Xenia asked excited and linked arms with her as if they were friends. They might have even that may be, but that was before the others had begun to distrust her. Medea pulled away gently but firmly from her. "We were in the theater. I opened the show and sang for Lean. "

"It does not send to the prince to mention his name without titles," she corrected Agnes snooty.

"He asked me," contradicted her Medea with cheeky grin.

"Have you kissed him?" asked Daphne, because that was basically the only thing they really interested.

It had given more than a moment, almost expected in Medea that Lean would kiss her. They had seen each other often deep into her eyes, had this to forget everything around him and had become very silent. Last on the stairs in front of the castle, before their paths had separated. But Lean was too well bred to kiss on the mouth after the first meeting. Instead, he leaned forward and breathed her a kiss on the hand. She had felt like a princess.

"He kissed me," Medea replied with a blissful smile. It was not even a lie. What could she help it if the others got it wrong? The jealous looks on their faces was their satisfaction for the past few days, in which they ignored and had treated like a traitor. "Excuse me now, please, I would like to go to bed and dream of my prince," Medea said grandly, and stepped past the other to her door. She pulled them on, slipped into the room and closed the door behind her in a hurry. She leaned with her eyes closed and her heart pounding against the cool wood. From outside she heard faint murmur of voices. She heard a faint murmuring from outside, but it does not hurt more, but filled her with pride.

"I knew you'd  wrap him around  little finger," suddenly a voice said that it was better known than their own. Startled beat Medea's eyes. Heera sat on her bed and looked toward her through the dark rooms.

"What are you doing here?", Medea gave and put the cage with the lark on the table.

"I was waiting for you," Heera said with a caring smile that made it difficult for Medea to be longer angry with her. Nevertheless, they remained suspicious. "What is it? You too want to know if we kissed? "

"I'm sure you have that. It would be an utter fool to resist you can ", grinned and pulled Heera Medea gently by the hand to the bed. She stroked her silky hair out of her face and grabbed the brush from her nightstand. Tenderly, she began to brush her hair. Medea relaxed immediately. Somehow they had changed roles. Normally she had been there always, the Heera combed her hair in front of the fire.

"It was beautiful," she murmured. "We were out all day in the theater. Lean loves the spectacle as much as I do. "

"I'm happy for you," Heera said, sounding at this completely sincere, so Medea felt guilty. Perhaps had Lean right and Heera wanted, just as they had already asserted all the time really only their best. She turned to Heera. It was hard to recognize her older sister in her. She was accustomed to see Heera with matted hair and her father's clothes in front of him, but now she looked into the beautiful face of a strong, young woman. Her hair was not as smooth and silky as her, but by a warm brown and gentle waves that gave it its hard countenance something soft gentle. Even in the simple dress she made a good impression. Heera himself always said that she could compete neither in beauty nor in talent with the other chosen ones, but Medea knew she was wrong. You could even see in her sister what Lean must have seen from their first meeting at. She was strong and tough, but she could not completely hide the girl in itself.
