Xavier

Early the next morning I walked into my apartment. It felt dark and cramped compared to Aiden’s light and spacious place. I had been blown away by it. He owned an entire floor and it was clear that the place had been professionally decorated. Everything matched perfectly in creams and reds, and there had been fresh flowers on the tables. A place like that would have been nice anywhere, but in New York it was amazing. It had to be worth millions of dollars. I couldn’t believe how rich he was, even for a partner in a top firm.

I let out a sigh.

I also couldn’t believe what I had done last night. My boss and I had given each other blow jobs. It was amazing, both to give and to receive, but I couldn’t believe how…uninhibited I’d become. I’d never been like that with Tony and I’d been with him for almost a year. There was something about Aiden that had brought something out in me I didn’t know was there.

We’d worked the rest of the night, then he let me sleep in his bed. Even though he had a guest bedroom, he spent the night on the couch. And I slept amazingly. Part of it was he had a big, soft, king-size bed that was like sleeping on a cloud. Part of it was probably that engaging in sex and working so hard had made me exhausted.

And I think part of it was, even though Aiden made me so crazy, I actually felt safe with him.

I stopped in my tracks. Just how strongly did I feel about Aiden? Was I falling for him? Like, really falling for him?

I hurried into my bathroom and turned the shower water on. I entered my room and went through my closet to get a fresh white shirt and my blue wool crepe suit. I laid it and some underwear from my drawer on the bed and jumped in the shower. I let the water and my thoughts run over me.

I didn’t want to be in love.

I soaped up my body and lathered my hair with shampoo more aggressively than was probably necessary. Maybe I was angry at myself for feeling this way when I knew I shouldn’t. He was my boss. My male boss. Who knew what the other people at the office would think about me having a gay relationship with my superior?

Plus, my only other relationship was Tony. And that had been a pretty unhealthy relationship. Which meant I had no idea how to be in a healthy one.

I decided to forego conditioner and turned the shower water off. I combed my hair back wet and shaved quickly. Normally I would put a lot more effort into my appearance. It’s not that I had a lot of pride in it or anything, I just always wanted to present myself a certain way. I was probably a little obsessed with my image, but I had been since I was a gay kid who desperately wanted the world to think he was straight.

Then again, Aiden seemed to like the way I looked. I smiled remembering how kind he had been to me, how passionately he’d kissed me.

I shook my head. Damn it, no. Do
not
fall in love with this man.

I quickly got dressed and put on my shoes. I took one last look in the mirror and ran back out the door. I checked my watch. About half an hour.

I wondered why I even bothered renting an expensive apartment if I was never going to be in it.

My ride on the subway over was almost over and I was starting to get majorly hungry. I guess that was what happened when you stay over at your hot boss’ apartment all night and don’t give yourself time to eat breakfast.

I’d grabbed a newspaper at the station and read it on the ride to work. Once again there was an article about Michael Patterson, and in the accompanying photo he looked as calm and cool as ever.

It was amazing that he could project such composure in public and yet he had been so afraid in our meeting. Which was the real Michael Patterson? Was the fear just an act to get out of a crime? Or was his coolness just a façade?

I was torn. I was new, and Aiden and Greg knew what they were doing. I should trust their judgment. But I couldn’t ignore how I felt, no matter how much I tried.

After I got off the subway, I took one look at the line in front of the café and kept walking. I wanted as much time as I could get with this case.

I was the first person in the office, to my surprise. I thought at least Aiden would beat me here since we had been up at the same time and I’d had to go home to get ready. I grabbed a coffee and a chocolate croissant from the cafeteria and went up to my desk.

I turned on my laptop and went through Patterson’s company’s financial records for the millionth time. I went through the records of the clients whom he was being investigated for defrauding. Sure enough his employee number showed up in all the transactions where money had been taken. I looked through the files of clients where the transactions had been legitimate, and sure enough, the numbers were the same. The big difference was that the fraudulent activity had taken place in the early hours of the morning, while the regular activity took place during business hours.

It didn’t make much sense. Sure, no one would be up to notice the fraudulent transactions if they took place in the early hours of the morning, but it looked a lot more suspicious this way. And of course any company audit was going to notice the odd times an employee was doing business, even one as high up as Patterson. Why would a smart guy like him not mix them in with his regular transactions to make them look legitimate?

I knew it wasn’t enough to clear him. It was all circumstantial. But it only made me more uneasy about this case.

I hear Aiden’s voice behind me. “Early as always, Lewis.”

I started in my chair.

Aiden leaned over my shoulder and whispered in my ear, “It’s just you and me, right?”

I gulped and nodded.

“Good,” he said. He kissed right under my ear, then down my neck. The tingling sensation sent sparks throughout my body, and I could feel myself heating up. I sighed and leaned my head back into his shoulder.

He continued to kiss my neck as he slid a hand down my body. A little moan escaped my throat as he touched my dick through my pants.

“Aiden, someone could come in,” I whispered.

“I don’t care,” he groaned in between kisses.

I heard footsteps coming up the hall and gasped. Aiden straightened and took his hand off my dick.

Greg walked in and (hopefully) saw what just looked like two people staring at a computer screen. “Hey, what are you looking at?”

God damn, that was close. Greg always seemed to come in at moments like that. Then again, the three of us were working so closely together that it wasn’t all that surprising.

“Just looking at the financial records again,” Aiden said, cool as a cucumber.

“Oh, is that it?” Greg asked, disinterested. One of these days he was going to catch on. “Anyway, Patterson is being arraigned today, so we should have a court date by this afternoon. His attorney will call me after.”

“Okay, thanks for the heads up,” Aiden said.

Greg looked around. “Let’s get a conference room while they’re all open.”

Greg and Aiden walked down the hall and I let out a sigh I didn’t know I was holding in. If Aiden and I kept doing this kind of stuff at the office, sooner or later we were going to get caught. And I had no idea what the consequences would be.

Aiden

We got done earlier than I’d thought we would. Having Xavier along was a huge help. It didn’t hurt that we got the court date from Patterson’s lawyer and it was later than we’d thought it would be, giving us more time to put the case together. And since we were already ahead of schedule, Greg and I figured we should take the rest of the day off. We’d all earned it.

Normally I’d take the time and get some sleep, or go to the bar and pick up a man. But there was only one man I wanted now.

We all stood up from the table and started putting away all the documents.

I leaned over and whispered in Xavier’s ear, “Come over tonight.”

He tensed. “I don’t know,” he said back.

“I haven’t been able to think of anything but you,” I said.

He turned bright red. “Shh, Greg will hear you,” he said, and moved away from me.

Oh no. He wasn’t getting away that easily.

When Greg carried a box out of the room, I grabbed Xavier from behind. He cried out but didn’t struggle.

“What’s wrong?” I murmured in his ear.

“I just think we’re taking too much of a risk,” he said.

“Well, then, come over to my apartment where no one will see us,” I said.

“Greg is coming back in any second,” he said, and tried to wiggle out of my grasp.

I held him tighter. “Say yes.”

“Okay, fine, yes,” he said.

I let go. Damn, that was probably a little too aggressive of me. I had to wonder again what this man was doing to me.

One of the great things about living in New York was that you could get anything delivered. Not just the dinner, but the wine, and even the candles. You had to love it.

I watched Xavier across the dinner table, the candlelight flickering in his eyes. He sipped at his red wine and stared at his food.

I held the bowl of the wine glass in my hand and swirled it for lack of anything better to do.

“What’s wrong? You don’t like Italian?” I asked Xavier.

He glanced up and then quickly glanced back down at his plate. “No, it’s delicious,” he said.

“Are you worried about the Patterson case?” I asked.

Xavier shook his head, then shrugged. “I mean, I am worried a little, but I know we’ll figure it out. If there is anything to figure out.”

“Is this about what happened between us last night?” I asked.

When he shifted in his seat, I knew I was right. I was afraid of that.

“Do you regret it?” I asked, looking down at my wine. I could barely get the words out. I thought my heart might break if he said yes.

“No…not really. It was great. Wonderful really. I just…”

I stared at him, trying desperately to read his expression. “Just what?”

“I don’t know what I’m doing. I have almost no experience. And Tony—”

“Tony?” I asked. Unbidden, jealousy flared up inside me and I took a sip of wine to hide it. Was he dating other people? Not that he didn’t have a right to, but the very idea made me want to punch whoever it was.

“My ex,” he said.

“Oh.” I breathed a sigh of relief.

“He wasn’t a good boyfriend. It wasn’t a good relationship. And he was my only boyfriend.” He paused. “I was so devastated after he broke up with me that I couldn’t concentrate on school. I had to take a whole year off. I don’t want this to be like that.”

“I don’t want that either,” I said.

“Like I said, I don’t know what I’m doing,” Xavier said. “I don’t even know how it happened with Tony. One minute I was an independent guy who didn’t need anyone. The next I was dependent on him. Dependent on someone who didn’t treat me well. I know it sounds pathetic, but I was just happy someone liked me, you know?”

“I can’t believe that,” I said. “You’re so attractive. Guys should have been falling all over themselves to be with you. Girls too, for that matter.”

Xavier’s face darkened. “Don’t say that. Don’t lie to me.”

Oh man. His ex-boyfriend messed him up worse than I thought.

I shook my head and scoffed. “That fucking ex of yours. I could kill him for making you believe you’re not attractive.”

“I—it’s not just him. It’s my whole track record. Why didn’t I have more boyfriends if I’m so damn attractive?” he asked.

“Well, how often did you go to the gay clubs?” I asked.

Xavier blinked. “I didn’t.”

“Never?” I asked. “How about school functions? Social groups?”

“I was too busy with school,” he said.

“Uh huh. So how did you meet Tony?”

“We were in the same class and we had to do a project together,” I said.

“School. Figures,” I said. “How many other projects did you have to do with other gay men?”

He looked at the floor. “None that I know of.”

“So, if you count me, your only two personal encounters with gay men led to a relationship with them. As far as I can tell, you’re two for two. Sounds like a pretty good track record to me.”

Xavier scoffed. “Nice argument, counsellor.”

“Just saying,” I said, and smiled, satisfied I’d won my case. I stood up and sat in the chair beside Xavier. I took a finger and put it under his chin, lifting his face up, making it so his eyes were even with mine. “I’m sorry your first boyfriend was such a bad experience.”

“It’s…it’s not your fault,” he said.

“I promise I’ll make it so your second boyfriend is a good one.” I stared into his eyes. “If you give me the chance.”

Xavier smirked and let out a little chuckle. “Like I can even resist you anyway.”

I chuckled back. “Don’t worry, you’re in good company.”

I leaned in and kissed him lightly, running my hand along his jawline. He reached up and lightly grabbed my wrist. I pulled him from his chair so he was straddling on top of me. He let out the softest little moan, and just like that I was hard and ready for him.

I stood up with him still straddling me. I knocked the chair down back behind me. He gasped and held my shoulders tight.

“Shall we take this into the bedroom?”

Xavier smiled and nodded.

I didn’t waste a second. I carried him into my room and laid him down on the bed. I kicked off my shoes and got on top of him.

I kissed him deeply, hungry for the taste of him, as I unbuttoned his shirt. I pulled it over his head, exposing his perfect body.

“God, you’re so hot,” I whispered.

Xavier shook his head.

I couldn’t believe he didn’t realize how gorgeous he was. But it was okay. I’d make him believe it someday.

I unbuckled his belt and practically ripped his belt loops off pulling it out. Then I quickly shoved his pants and underwear off so that he was completely naked under me.

I couldn’t tell if the wine was going to my head or if it was just the thrill of finally having Xavier naked in my bed. But I could barely keep myself under control. I ripped off my own clothes so that I was skin to skin with Xavier.

“I’m warning you,” I whispered in his ear. “I might go a little crazy tonight.”

I opened the drawer of my nightstand and pulled out a bottle of lube. I squirted the liquid on my dick and rubbed it over the length until my dick was soaking with it.

Xavier bit his lip watching me lube up.

I touched his face. “You nervous?” I asked.

“Yeah. You’re so big,” he said.

I smiled. “I’ll just have to ease you into it then.”

I sat back on my ankles and pulled him on top of my legs so he was straddling me. I took the hand that was still lubed up from before and put one finger inside him.

“Ah!” he cried, bucking his hips.

I put in a second finger, then a third, and slid them in and out of him, opening him up. I watched as his cock got hard and stood at attention. I couldn’t resist. I took him in my mouth and sucked him off a few times to get his dick wet and was rewarded with his sexy moaning and crying out.

I pulled his cock out of my mouth. “Sorry babe. I can’t hold back anymore.”

I took my hard, lubed up dick and thrust it inside Xavier.

“Ahh!” he screamed. “Aiden!”

I grabbed his hips to keep him still and pumped in and out of him.

“Oh fuck, Xavier. You’re so tight,” I groaned.

I watched him buck and writhe beneath me as my dick slid in and out of him. Xavier was so hot and sweaty. It was the sexiest thing I’d ever seen in my life.

I slid my hands over his hips and up his legs, holding them up in the air on either side of me. He continued to cry out with each thrust, his dick still hard and ready. He was so sexy I couldn’t help myself. I couldn’t control myself. I pumped harder and faster.

“I’m close,” I said.

Xavier didn’t answer, just kept moaning.

I got my release, my cum filling him up. I thrust in a few more times before pulling out. A few drops of cum dripped out.

Xavier was still breathing hard.

I smiled. “Your turn,” I said.

I bent down, put my wet fingers back in him and took his cock in my mouth. He was already so close that a few strokes in and out of him and a few times of running my lips up and down his cock and he came in my mouth.

I swallowed and crawled up the bed until I was beside him, then spooned him.

“You don’t want me to leave?” Xavier asked.

“You’re not going anywhere tonight,” I said. I kissed the back of his neck and fell asleep.
