“I also received a visitor today. “

“Did you?”

“Yes. Laurie called this morning.”

He looked up from his plate with wary interest. “Oh?”

“Yes. He told me you were aware of his indiscretions with Elena, yet word of it never passed your lips. Not even when you were trying to woo me away from him. Why?”

“You had been hurt enough at my hands. I had no desire to add to your pain.” He gave a wry smile. “I see your day was not dull in my absence.”

“No, it was not.” She took a breath. “And what of yours? I worried when I awakened to find you gone.”

“Did you? My apologies.” He set his fork down. “I spent the better part of the day with Doctor Drummond.”

She swallowed. “You discussed your…bouts with him?”

“Yes, I have met with him a few times now and I find his theories to be most interesting. I’ve decided to continue seeing him to determine whether he can be of assistance.”

Relief flowed in her veins. “I am so pleased.”

His somber dark eyes held hers. “I fear you will witness quite of a bit of unpleasantness should I experience a fit in your presence.”

“I am your wife. I want to share everything with you, the unpleasant as well as the pleasant,” she said fervently. “Doctor Drummond’s methods seem to be providing Toby with a measure of relief. Perhaps it will be so with you as well. What happens next?”

“Next we eat.” He gestured toward the untouched food in her plate. “And then I shall play for you again—a private show during which clothing will be optional.”

Later, after they’d eaten and he’d played the violin for her again, he carried his wife to bed and removed her clothing. He took his time worshipping her body with his hands and mouth, bringing her to pleasure more than once before pushing into her with full strokes. Murmuring words of love and praise, along with a few of the naughty words he’d taught her, they made love late into the evening.

Afterwards, sleepy and deliciously sated, she whispered, “What now?”

He pulled her body against the warm strong length of his and wrapped his arms around her. “Now I am going to sleep with my wife in my arms.”

“Through the night?” She asked the words carefully. “You are not sending me back to my chamber so you can sleep alone?”

“Most assuredly not. You’re not going anywhere.” He tucked her body more firmly against his, enveloping her in his delicious masculine aura. “And neither am I.”
