Kerrigan explained.

I

He
pulled
her
tighter
against

Her
face
lost
all
color,
and
a
tear
escaped
from
the
corner
of
her

sliding
down
her cheek.

K

I

Please,

Her
lips
quivered,
and
her
voice
broke
as

he
placed her
hands
on
his
chest.

Her
sadness
was
ripping
his heart,
and there
wasn’t a

do
to
help
her. He ached
to
hold
her

but
he
had
to

He

She
dried
her
tears,
knowing

Her

her

Now,
weary
and

her
defenses weakened.
She

falling

She

all
her

and
to drive
her
crazy
with
uncontrolled
passion.

“I
think food
and
rest
would
be
a

idea.”

He
took
hold
of
her
hand,
and
in
a

Catz
followed, appearing
at
her
side.

Then
she
heard
Padd

the
house.

“Thank

Paddy
greeted
her
with
a

“I’m

I

I’m

Paddy studied her
face and

over
to Kerrigan.

S

exhausted.
What did

do
to
her

“You

how

He

winked
at
Meeka.

Her
blood
raced

He
could
make
her
pulse
change
with

Would

“Where’s
Threeo,”
M

asked.

Paddy laughed.
“Oh, those
babies.
They
escaped
again,
and
Threeo’s

Kerrigan
cursed,
closing
his

H

Threeo
appeared
around
the
door
into
the
kitchen.
He
looked

“This

he
said, “The
puppy
Threeo
chewed
his
way
out.”

Meeka
couldn’t
help
but
burst
out
in
laughter.
“This

What

” “Well,” Threeo explained with an ann
