They glanced at each other. Rovere smiled. "Me and Heinrich plan to visit the Valley of the Kings, see some pyramids. That's why we came. We're well overdue for some R&R."

He nodded and looked at Talley. "What about you, Boss? Straight back to the hotel?"

"Yeah, she'll be wondering and waiting."

"And her a nun, you should be ashamed."

"Ex-nun," he protested.

They chuckled.

"Some people would call it a gift from God," Rovere said.

"I'll remember to say thanks. See you all later. If you..."

He didn't get any further. His cellphone rang, and he took it out to inspect the screen. Admiral Brooks, calling from Brussels.

Why does Brooks always call at the worst possible times?

He thought for a few moments, and they watched his face, anxiously. He pressed the button to reject the call.

"Not this time. Let's go play."
