“It’s quitting time,” he said low against his ear.

He
felt the change in Alex, the tension flowing out of him as he turned in his hold. Loren clamped his hand lightly on Alex’s nape and brought their bodies together. When he crushed his mouth down on Alex’s, a fire burned between them.

Cock swelling, Loren rocked his hips. “I need you.”

A growl rumbled Alex’s chest. He gripped Loren’s biceps and walked him around so his back came up against the work table. Excitement mounted in his core. This was Alex at his best—in control. And when he was spent Loren took advantage by claiming Alex in every way he knew.

Alex snaked his tongue against Loren’s lips.
Opening for him, Loren wrapped Alex in a tight hold. Lust was a tight knot in his groin. His balls shrunk against his body, aching for release.

When he withdrew from the kiss, Alex’s expression was dark with wanting. Loren sagged at the knees and dragged Alex’s shirt up.
As he covered his nipple with his mouth, they shared a moan. The bud tightened under his tongue, and he swirled it around one of Alex’s most sensitive spots.

“Suck m
y cock. I want to drive into your mouth.”

A grin cut a path across Loren’s face. He grasped Alex’s belt buckle and flipped the gold star to the side. The man was
all Texas, and he wore it well.

Before he unzipped his jeans and reached into his boxers for the thick cock he wanted to suck so badly, Loren filled his head with his lover’
s scent. Man, musk, leather. Since their encounter with Posy, a little of her perfume clung to each of them. Somehow the fragrance melded with their scents and heightened the moment.

Loren freed Alex’s cock. It stood out from his body, fat at the tip, the shaft veined and red with need.
He sank to his knees. Then parting his lips around Alex’s straining tip, he held his gaze.

Alex rasped his thumbs over Loren’s jaw, drawing him
down on him. As every inch filled his mouth, Loren’s cock grew as hard as rock. He clamped his lips around Alex, sucking in the way that worked him up fastest.

He needed to
feel Alex deep inside his body, moving fast and rough until they both exploded. Then they’d stop off for a couple beers before heading home and doing it all over again.

As a drop of pre-
come coated Loren’s tongue, he closed his eyes. Visions of Posy jumped into his head. Today her slim-fitting skirt had tormented him more than usual. He’d spent half the day wanting to strip her, hook her thighs over his shoulders and go down on her. How would she taste?

He clutched Alex’s ass and yanked him deep until his
thick head hit the back of Loren’s throat.

“You’re so fucking good at that.” Alex’s voice had reached the gritty stage. He was close
already.

Loren let him slide off his tongue and gripped his shaft at the base.
Slowly, he rolled it through his fingers.

Alex’s eyes darkened another degree. “Come up here.”

After gaining his feet, Loren wrapped his arms around Alex and claimed his mouth. As their lips met, the flames of need raged out of control.

“Get the condom,”
Loren grated out.

Mmm, no foreplay, love?” Alex sank his teeth into the side of Loren’s neck.

He issued a hiss, juices leaking from his cock and wetting his underwear. In a rush he unbuttoned his fly. Alex covered his hand and took over. His callused grip drove him insane. Pressure curled around the base of his spine, his orgasm
already too close.

“The condom,” he urged.

Alex rumbled a laugh as he fished in the pocket of his jeans, which were puddled at his feet. “Think about me pounding into you,” he ordered.

Loren’s chest tightened. Fuck, he loved Alex’s alpha side. He
also loved the moments after sex when his lover was tender, kissing and nuzzling until they often fell asleep. Getting to the end was sometimes nicer than the act itself, because he otherwise didn’t see Alex’s soft side.

That’s the hole
that Posy would fill.

His errant though tripped him. He darted a look at the door leading to the office space, imagining her walking in and finding them
…then joining in.

Alex lashed his fingers around Loren’s cock and gave it a tantalizing tug.
He flicked his tongue over Loren’s ear. “You’re so fucking hard. You want this?” He reached behind Loren and ran his finger down the seam of his ass. On the second pass, his fingertip brushed Loren’s pucker.

“Yes, get inside me.” Shivers of need shook Loren. He pulled off Alex’s shirt and let it fall. Then
he dropped his head to Alex’s shoulder and traced a circle with his tongue.

Alex removed Loren’s shirt too. As he pivoted Loren, he kissed his chest, shoulder, spine. Loren’s throat tightened with emotion. He leaned over the workstation.

When Alex rubbed his condom-covered cock over Loren’s ass, he dropped his head and let himself feel what Alex couldn’t say out loud.

They were connected in so many ways.

Come leaked from his stiff cock, but before he could fist it, Alex noisily sucked his fingers. Loren quivered with anticipation. When his lover eased one finger into his ass, then two, he reared back with pleasure.

Alex’s voice was at his ear. “I’m going to stretch you for my cock. Then I’m going to shove so hard and deep, you’ll
feel me for a week.”

“Hell yeah.
I’m going to take you home and do the same to you. In the kitchen.”

A shiver ran through Alex. They never discussed it, but Alex had a passion for being pegged while at the stove
. Loren would find Alex there with the biggest hard-on imaginable. Taking control at those moments always left them sated, and more often than not they shared a burned dinner.

Alex filled Loren with three fingers, spreading them
as he worked in and out. The pleasure-pain mounted.

“Enough. Get inside me.”

Alex scraped his rough jaw over Loren’s neck. When he pulled his fingers free, Loren’s body clamped on the emptiness. Instantly Alex’s cock head replaced it. He pushed through the tight barrier, and they both stopped breathing.

“Take me. Take
all of me.” Alex grunted as he slipped in another inch.

“More,” Loren groaned, taking his aching cock in hand. It was still rigid, his balls throbbing. He fisted his shaft from root to tip.

Alex shoved deeper. “Nuh-uh. That’s my job.” He reached around Loren and took control. He pumped him five times hard and fast. When Loren’s mind cleared of sexual haze, he realized his lover was buried deep in his ass.

They began to move. The steel of
Alex’s body against him fueled Loren’s passion. He rocked in time to Alex’s thrusts.

Alex’s rough breaths kissed Loren’s skin. Sweat broke out on
Loren’s forehead.

“Pump your come all over my fingers, love.
I’m so close. Come for me.”

His words dragged Loren up and over. He stiffened, the gland deep in his body pulsing as Alex’s cock slid over it.

“Oh fuck, I’m there.” Alex roared, and Loren followed. Spurts wet Alex’s fingers and Alex’s hot come filled his body. Mad to anything but his release, Loren drove down on his shaft again and again. Their harsh breathing echoed in the open space.

A
s Alex rocked into him with the last of his orgasm, he trailed his fingers over Loren’s chest in the same place Posy had touched hours before. Her face loomed in Loren’s mind.

The moment stretched—Alex’s fingers, Posy’s touch—suspending Loren in a place he never wanted to leave. A shudder rolled through him.

Damn, I’m in trouble.

The same thing he
felt for Alex was spreading—to a woman he shouldn’t lay a hand on.

Chapter Three

Posy’s list of supplies to order was missing. Before leaving the previous evening she’d placed it on top of a stack of catalogs in her top desk drawer, but now it wasn’t there.

She pulled everything out of the drawer, searching between catalogs. Nothing. Then she flipped the pages of each catalog in case it had gotten stuck between.

Damn.

She was a mess. If someone had told her yesterday that she’d wake up on Valentine’s Day feeling as if a wild horse had trampled her heart, she would have given him some snarky reply.

But upon waking, feelings had flooded her—things she’d believed to be
resolved.

No, they ARE
resolved.

She didn’t want Johnny. Toward the end of their relationship, they’d turned into an old married couple—passionless, sexless. She didn’t need to be pinned against a wall and fucked hard every day, but it
would be nice to know someone wanted her that badly. Also, their conversations had begun to drag and they’d been drifting apart for at least a year.

No, she didn’t want him. But he was a warm body to declare her love to on a holiday the world blew out of proportion.

Not bothering to replace the catalogs, she plopped them in the center of her desk and opened another drawer. She dug out half the contents but didn’t find the yellow notepaper.

She eyed the next drawer.
Would she have stuck it in there accidentally? Rolling the drawer open, she peered at the files and shuddered. If she opened all those files in search of the list, she’d waste half the morning. She didn’t have time—if she didn’t place that order by 11:00 a.m., the supplies wouldn’t ship.

Alex and Loren were running low on a few items. Without them, production
would halt.

Panic struck. Posy reached into the file drawer and removed a thick stack.
Forgetting about the catalogs, she set the files on top and the entire pile slid. She squawked in surprise, trying to keep the mass from cascading to the floor.

But it was too late.
Files opened. Papers flew.

Son of a bitch!” Ignoring the skirt she wore, she slipped from the chair and crawled around on her knees, picking up papers. Everything was out of order. She had Mr. Crenshaw’s order details right next to Skip’s Lumber invoices.

Hair tumbled into Posy’s eyes, and she
shoved it back. Crawling around, she scooped up a sheaf of paper and shoved it over the side of the desk. One of her high heels fell off, but she ignored it, trying to pick up the mess she’d created before the guys walked in and caught her in this state.

“Where did I put that list?” she muttered.

“What list?” Alex’s low, sexy drawl sounded behind her.

Heat climbed her throat and face. Even the tips of her ears burned. God, of
all positions to be caught in—on her hands and knees, skirt inching up her hips and wearing one high heel.

She threw a glance
behind her and almost groaned. His hat was tipped low, and amusement sparked in his eyes. He looked like a goddamn model from the pages of American Cowboy while she looked deranged.

Fighting
down her blush, she tried to gain her feet with some measure of decorum. Hair straggled into her eye, and she blew it back in time to notice Alex staring at her legs.

She shimmied her skirt
down into place, but his gaze only ticked upward and clung.

A glance
down at her chest revealed why. The button between her breasts had popped during her concrete floor crawl and now the lace of her fire engine red bra peeked through the opening.

Damn post-breakup emotional eating had put on a few pounds and it
seemed to have all settled in her tits.

Fresh heat spread over her skin as she
quickly buttoned her blouse.

Oh and there was the small matter that one heel had been lost and she was standing crookedly.
She fished around on the floor with her toes until she righted the heel and slid her foot into it.

Alex gave a slight shake of his head. “What the hell happened in here?”

“Elves. I think it was trolls really. They attacked the desk and shoved me down.”

He burst out laughing, and she
couldn’t resist a giggle at her own expense. It was then she realized he had both hands hidden behind his back.

She cocked her head, trying to see around him.

“I love your sense of humor, Posy. Actually, that’s part of the reason why I got you these.” He whipped his hands out, revealing a bouquet of pink roses and a fat box of chocolates tied with a red ribbon.

Her heart flipped and her jaw dropped. “Alex…”

She should say she couldn’t accept such gifts from her boss, and refuse more chocolate on the grounds that her blouse wouldn’t close properly.

She should take
advantage of the moment by throwing her arms around him.

With a cocky smile he closed the gap between them. He pressed the flowers into her hand, and their fingers overlapped. Extreme
heat shot up her arm then spread through her body.

Up close the golden brown flecks in Alex’s eyes glittered. He leaned toward her, bringing the scent of man and musk she’d
fallen for weeks ago. Confusion swept her. Was he going to kiss her? Should she return it? Surely he wouldn’t aim for her lips.

Oh God, that’s exactly what he was doing.
Shock ripped down her spine as Alex brushed his lips softly across hers. “Happy Valentine’s Day, Posy.”

Her mind blanked, but her body screamed for more. She
skimmed her tongue over her lower lip, gathering the flavors he’d deposited there in the too-brief kiss.

What was she thinking? This
couldn’t happen.

Gaining her wits, she buried her nose in the
roses. Often commercially-grown roses didn’t carry a rich scent, but these actually did. She inhaled twice more before she was able to meet his gaze.

“Thank you, Alex. I didn’t get you
anything. I’m sorry.”

“No apologies needed.
Seeing you happy is all I wanted.” He held out the chocolates. “Maybe you’ll share?”

As Posy opened her mouth to say she
would share anything he wanted, including a firsthand peek at her red lace bra, Loren walked in.

Carrying
flowers and chocolate.

* * * * *

When Alex half turned to see Loren holding a mixed bouquet and a box of chocolates from the very same small-town chocolatier Alex’s was from, a growl raised in his throat.

Damn if his box wasn’t bigger too.

He stopped dead in his tracks, annoyance twisting his rugged features. He shot Alex a look then swaggered forward.

“Looks
like I’m late to the party,” Loren drawled.

Posy pushed around Alex to greet Loren. “No
party. Just…”

Giving Posy the gifts I got her,” Alex interjected, folding his arms across his chest.

Last
night he and Loren had shoved aside all their differences over Posy and loved each other long into the night. It seemed now nothing had changed. Loren was hell-bent on getting too close to her.

Posy wrapped her arms around Loren’s neck as he handed her the flowers. Jealousy boiled in Alex’s gut. He hadn’t gotten a hug. In fact she hadn’t even kissed him back.

“Thank you, Loren. The flowers are beautiful.” She stepped back, holding two bouquets. And beaming like a beauty queen.

Alex
couldn’t tear his gaze from her. She was lit from the inside out. When she looked into his eyes and smiled, he didn’t try to stop himself. He took the plunge. “Go to dinner with me tonight, Posy.”

Her smile faltered. “What? As
…friends?”

He
lifted a shoulder. “We’re friends, aren’t we?”

Loren’s eyebrows drew downward, punctuating his displeasure. “Friends, sure.”

“We’re all friends,” Posy said quickly.

“No,
there’s more,” Alex said, challenging Loren. “For weeks I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you, Posy.”

She sucked in a breath.

He barreled on despite Loren’s glare. “I want to kiss you until your knees turn to jelly. Then I want to strip off those sexy clothes that drive me crazy.” He gestured to her blouse, wishing she hadn’t closed it. That glimpse of her red bra had made him instantly hard.

“Now wait a damn minute.
You’re not the only man with a crush. Posy, you’re a gorgeous and smart woman, and I love making you laugh. Does that earn me any points?” Loren crowded close to her. The way they stood revealed their comfort level with each other. Alex didn’t like it one bit.

He especially didn’t
like this competition they’d somehow gotten into.

Posy’s eyes were wide, her lips a perfect O of shock.

Alex stroked her fingers gripping his bouquet. “Sweetheart, we have history. We swam in the river and climbed trees together. I got you out of that scrape by lying to your mom about where you were after you sneaked out of the tent to go with your friends to drink beer.”

She nodded. “You did save my ass.
I would have been grounded for a month.”

We have history too, baby,” Loren said. “Remember after that school dance when you didn’t have a ride home and I drove you?”

“What?” Alex’s chest tightened. “I didn’t know
about that.”

“Nothing happened,” she said.

“True, but I came to your rescue. And if I recall, I gave you advice about Johnny.”

Posy’s features shivered at
the mention of her ex, and Alex’s need to shield her took over. He wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her into his side. Her fragrant hair tickled his chin, and her curves molded to his body. Ignited all over again, he held her close.

“Don’t talk
about that ass-wipe.” Alex sent Loren a warning look.

“Why not? She and I have been talking
about him for weeks. She knows my stance on the subject—he’s a douche-bag who didn’t deserve her, and she’s damn lucky he’s out of the picture. Because I want to be in it.” Loren removed the bouquets from her hands and set them and the candy aside on the messy desk. Then he took her hands, raised them and kissed each.

She shivered as he lingered over her knuckles.

Alex shoved him in the shoulder, but he only crowded closer to Posy. She was locked between them. When her hip bumped Alex’s thigh dangerously close to his swollen cock, need slashed through him.

“Loren, you’re pressing your luck.”

He cocked a brow at Alex—a familiar expression that dumped another kind of heat into his system. “Let’s see what Posy wants.” Using his knuckles, Loren nudged her chin up to stare into her eyes. “What do you want, baby?”

She tensed, and Alex
felt the hardening of her muscles all the way to the marrow of his bones. He longed to turn her into his arms and sink his tongue between her sweet lips.

“You guys are confusing me.”

“Back off, man,” Alex ordered.

“You first.”

“Listen, I’m not sure what’s going on here, but I need some room. I can’t think with so much…muscle around me.”

Loren’s mouth quirked up, and Alex was pleased to hear his nearness
affected her as much as she affected him.

They eased away, and she circled her desk. Then she looked
down. With a disgusted noise she bent and picked something off the floor. When she slapped a yellow sheet of paper on the desk, she met their stares.

A huge piece of oak furniture stood between them. Alex flicked his gaze over her
beautiful face and down to her full breasts, more alluring now that he knew a bit of red lace contained them. Was a matching red thong hiding under her skirt?

“The flowers are
beautiful. And the candy is great. But I don’t know if I could accept a dinner date.” She looked between them. “From either of you.”

“If you’re thinking this is
some pity date because it’s Valentine’s Day, you’re wrong,” Alex said.

She shook her head.

Loren threw an arm across Alex’s body as if restraining him. “Wait. Don’t you see what’s going on here?”

“I see an asshole trying to shove his way into her life.”

“Shut up and listen, dipshit,” Loren said with irritation. “Don’t you see the way she’s looking at us?
Both
of us?”

Posy blushed so hard it was painful to look at her. Alex’s heart tugged at the sight.
And he wanted to punch Loren’s teeth out for mentioning something Alex didn’t want to see.

He turned to his lover, fists clenched. No, he
couldn’t accept that she might have feelings for Loren too. She’d belonged to him first.

Technically, she’s never been
mine.
But she will be.
