Connor’s eyes shot open as he felt not only her sheath begin to ripple up his cock in waves as if it were trying to pull him in further, but the sensitive head of his dick was touching what much be that special something. It was starting to vibrate deep inside her body.

He gritted his teeth, trying to ride it out, but the vibration and muscular waves intensified and he came in powerful shooting spurts deep inside her, his free hand gripping her hip hard as he tried to push even deeper. She shouted at the same time, obviously reacting to the pressure of his seed shooting out to cover the neck of her womb.

After a few moments of literally seeing stars, he realized Chesara was lying against his chest. His free arm was around her, and she was breathing just as hard as he was. He’d always known she was special, but what he’d just felt, simply blew his mind. And the more people that knew about it, the more danger she was in.

God, he hoped she wasn’t pregnant, but the lust, the change in her scent were all pointing in that direction. It was even more imperative that he get her somewhere safe, sooner rather than later. However, she didn’t need to know what she was about to face.

“Well that was unexpected,” he said, and they both started laughing. After a few moments, she reached up and kissed him gently.

CHAPTER 31

“I
suppose I should feel guilty for taking advantage of you, but I don’t think I do,” and she blessed him a dazzling smile. Which he didn’t return.

“But you do don’t you,” she voiced what he was obviously thinking. She’d pretty much raped him.

His sigh showed that she was correct, and she got off him awkwardly, pulling the robe around herself until she realized she was leaving him naked. Scanning around she saw his torn clothes lying near the wall shackles and she went to retrieve them. Folding up the shirt so most of the blood stains were inside she placed it across his hips before turning away in embarrassment, her arms wrapped around herself as she tried to deal with the guilt of what she’d done. He’d been tortured, tied up and she’d taken advantage of him. Maybe she was the animal they all claimed she was. Certainly a decent human being would have done what she had.

“I don’t regret us making each other happy Chesara, not one little bit.”

She turned back to him. “What’s the ‘but’ Connor?”

She knew there was one, the look of regret in his eyes felt like a knife in her gut, and his words did nothing to soothe the pain of humiliation and rejection. He’d let her do what she had because his ‘charge’ required his help. She was merely a job for him.

“I regret losing control, coming inside you. Pregnancy is not something we want to deal with here.” Before she could do more than growl, he continued.

“We have something more urgent to deal with. Did you agree to any demands yesterday afternoon? I have to know where we are at the moment.”

Yes, it was far more urgent to secure the Federation’s prime asset than to discuss their relationship. She felt hollow inside, and so terribly alone. She shook her head.

“It seems we’re both as pig headed as the other, but that means we are likely to be in for round two today.” His voice was soft, but it didn’t lessen the impact of what he’d said.

“I can give as good as I get,” she replied tightly. Neither the Kalzirians nor Connor were going to get the satisfaction of knowing they were getting to her. After all, she was Dakaran, and she just decided that her people were made of far sterner stuff than humans.

At his expression of frustration and despair, she felt her anger growing. So he was concerned, big deal. He was probably worried about getting bawled for not returning her to her ‘owners’ in pristine condition.

“You’re not the only one who can be all macho. Healing you last night wasn’t exactly a walk in the park, especially after what happened to me. But we both made it though, and we can do it again.”

His sad, condescending smile had her grinding her teeth together.

“That was just round one Kittycat.”

“Don’t call me that,” she spat out. “Nicknames are for friends, not keepers.” The profound flash of pain across his face, made her regret her words, but only a little.

“They can do a lot more to me, and they could make you watch. They could have you heal me again and again until you’re exhausted, or not let you heal me at all. I bet they haven’t fed you either have they?”

She just gave him a so? look and he didn’t pursue his usual obsession with her eating and sleeping habits.

“Tamas is one sick fucker; did you wonder why he didn’t join in your interrogation yesterday? It’s because he likes hurting people far more, plus he’s not into women. Do you think you can watch him hurt me? Rape me perhaps?”

“What? Like I did just now?”

He frowned at her. “Don’t be stupid. I enjoyed every second of that, probably too much. It just made me uncomfortable because this isn’t exactly the place or circumstances I would have chosen.”

She walked back over to him and stared down at him.

“Are you saying that if circumstances were different, you’d want to be with me in that way?”

He groaned slightly and sighed. “Chesara, have you ever looked at yourself? I haven’t even looked at another woman for years.”

The smile that grew on her face made her muscles ache, and she decided that he did indeed look incredibly delicious laid out for her pleasure.

“Hold it Kittycat, we don’t have time for that now. We need to figure out a strategy for how we move forward. If we work it right, they’ll be plenty of time for that. If we don’t...” he trailed off but she got the message.

“As I said yesterday, you need to think about agreeing to their demands. You can always fix anything you do at a later date.”

She pulled her hand back that was about to touch him, skin-to-skin contact seemed to make her brains descend between her legs.

Was he trying to get her to agree to their demands to save himself more pain, or was he trying to protect her from witnessing it? If the latter maybe he did care about her more than just being his job.

“What would you do if I couldn’t heal anymore, if I wasn’t the ‘Special Envoy’?”

His reply came back immediately, he hadn’t thought about it for a second and sincerity radiated from every pore, even if he seemed a little surprised at his own words.

“I’d resign and go wherever you were. You’re my life Kittycat, you, not your ability.”

She couldn’t help moving to kiss him. Yes, he’d kept secrets from her, but she had to admit, it was likely that he’d only done it to protect her, or because he been ordered to. If he had disobeyed orders, he would have been reassigned. It must have been a horrible choice to have to make.

After a few moments, she pulled back and gazed down at his face, touching his cheek gently. Tears filled her eyes as the gaping hole inside her started to close. Connor cared, really cared about her, just like Tenset, just like she cared about them.

“You need to tell them you’ll do what they want.”

She closed her eyes briefly. “I can’t, I’d rather die. Just the thought of hurting someone on purpose...” her mind shied away from the thought. “But I can’t see you hurt either.”

They gazed into each other’s eyes before she swallowed hard and continued with the idea that had just occurred to her.

“If what you said about Tamas enjoying hurting people is true, do you think he’d stop if it didn’t hurt?” Connor looked confused, so she carried on quietly, not quite believing what she was suggesting herself.

“I can stop it hurting. I can’t stop him from doing anything to you, but I can stop you feeling physical pain.”

He reached up and cupped the back of her neck, pulling her close enough to whisper in her ear.

“That won’t stop him hurting you. I couldn’t stand that.”

“He needs me physically unharmed, so I can get into the palace as arranged.  If he knows he’s not causing you pain, he might give up. I can cope with watching if I have too, I know I can fix just about anything.”

She could almost see the wheels turning in his head, and she’d give anything to know what he was thinking. Even though she knew he loved her, as much as she loved him, his protective instincts probably meant there would always be things he wouldn’t share with her. Asking didn’t hurt though.

“Penny for your thoughts?”

He grinned up at her. “They’re worth far more than a penny, so I think I’ll keep them to myself for a while. But yes, it’s a good idea.”

At his nod, she centered herself and placed a hand on his forehead. Concentrating on the pain centre in his brain, she changed the shape of the receptors within the synapses, so they no longer reacted to neurotransmitters released from painful stimuli.  Without warning, she pinched the inside of his bicep, hard.

She raised her eyebrows in question, and smiled when he returned her grin.

“I can feel it, but there’s no pain.”

CHAPTER 32

W
aiting was almost as bad as it happening she decided, before telling herself she was being a moron. Of course waiting was better than torture, but it wasn’t a barrel of laughs either.

Part of the reason she was fidgeting was that she needed a wee. If someone didn’t come soon she was contemplating using the bucket, although doing that with Connor in the room made her distinctly uncomfortable.

She grinned ruefully to herself. Earlier she’d been happy to jump the poor defenceless chap, but having a pee with him in the room – no way. To complete her embarrassment, her stomach rumbled loudly.

Connor’s eyes shot open, he’d been dozing. The injuries the day before would still effecting him as his body restored the energy she’d redirected to heal him faster than was natural.

“Sorry,” she grinned, a little shamefaced about her belly’s protests. “When was the last time you ate?” he asked her with narrowed eyes.

“I’ll tell if you will,” she countered. As she didn’t receive a reply, she decided he probably hadn’t eaten for at least as long as her, probably more.

“Do you think they’re going to feed us today?”

He shrugged. “Maybe, maybe not. Withholding food, toilet facilities, and preventing sleep can all be effective interrogation techniques.”

At the look of disgust on her face, he grinned. “Something to look forward to I guess.”

Time stretched as Connor rested. She thought it might be nearly noon, judging by the increasingly uncomfortable pressure on her bladder. She eyed the bucket again. But this girl, human or not, still had standards. Going to the door, she peered through the spy hole in the door.

“Melton, oh Melton, light of my life, man of my dreams, can I use the bathroom pretty, pretty please?” The sound of boots in the corridor had her doing a ‘high five’ in Connor’s direction.

The door opened, and Melton poked his head round.

“Afternoon folks. Glad to see you had a comfortable night,” he grinned knowingly. “If you would care to accompany me, Miss Chesara, your bathroom awaits.” He bowed theatrically.

“You’re in a good mood today Melton, any particular reason apart from my very entertaining company?” she asked as he walked her down the corridor.

“My wife had our third child last night, a girl to go with our two sons,” he said with a grin. “Lord Tamas has agreed to let us move into a bigger house on the estate.”

“I’m happy for you Melton, you seem like a decent guy, but your boss is one gigantic son of a kackbad.” They stopped outside the toilet, and he opened the door for her. She entered quickly and sat down for a pee.

“He’s just looking out for his own people Miss. I wish you could see that. It’d save a great deal of unpleasantness, what’s a Kackbad?”

She splashed some water on her face at the sink then rinsed her mouth out, it was the best she could do under the circumstances. He let her out when she tapped on the door.

“I think we’ll have to agree to disagree on this one Melton. Do you know what he wants me to co-operate with?”

Given the fact he’d just become a parent again, she didn’t see how he could possibly side with Tamas.

“What I don’t know, I can’t reveal. So please don’t tell me.” She had a mental picture of him with his fingers in his ears singing ‘la la la ‘ loudly to drown her out. She decided to leave him alone for the sake of his wife and children.

“What’s happened to that cocky git Tenset? I’m a little offended he hasn’t been to visit.”

Melton cleared his throat. “LORD Tenset was somewhat ‘upset’ about his uncle’s little experiment with you yesterday. Lord Tamas thought it best that he be confined until any effect you have on him has worn off. That’s why I haven’t been in to see you so far today, the cell block is unusually full, what with you two, Lord Tenset and your playmate from yesterday in residence.”

Looking around as if she was about to reveal a significant secret, she whispered, “I’m not sure it does wear off, once you’ve gone alien, I’m not sure human women have the same appeal.

Chesara grinned at his worried expression, and then raised her voice. “Hey Tenset, how’s it hanging? You got far more than the poor guard did, so I hope you’re happy.”

She jumped as a large male body hit the cell door next to her.

“Which one are you?” she called.

A wordless growl was a reply.

“Oh hi guardy buddy. I never did catch your name. Anytime you feel up to a rematch, just let me know.” The body hit the door again even harder, this time accompanied by a roar of angry frustration.

She turned wide eyes to Melton. “Those doors are strong right?”

Melton grabbed her arm and pulled her faster down the corridor. “You’re an awfully bad person Chesara,” but he grinned while he said it.

“Which one’s Tenset in?” she whispered. Melton gave her a hard look, turned her around and walked her back down the corridor, indicating the first cell.

“As long as you behave yourself, you can speak to him. One move towards him, or him towards you and you’re out of there,” Melton warned, and she believed him. For all his bantering, there was a hard edge to the man.

The cell was about the same size as the interrogation room, with a simple bed, table and chair as furnishings. Tenset lay on the bed, watching her as she moved to the other side of the table. Melton stood in the doorway, his stun baton in his hand.
