Chapter Five: The Explosion

Back at the clubhouse, Jada and Isaac went inside the office. They stood close together. She said, "I'll have everything ready at six-thirty. Call me if you're going to be late." She moved away, but Isaac caught her hand and brought her back to his arms. He kissed her thoroughly. She kissed back. They ended the kiss reluctantly.

Jada stopped at the bar. She found Chica and asked, "Would you like to come to dinner this Sunday? I want you to meet my brother, Ox. Actually, his name is John, but everyone calls him Ox. You might like him."

Chica nodded. "I'd really like that. I see you and Isaac making a connection."

"I hope so."

Chica was concerned, "How should I dress? What kind of woman does your brother like?"

Jada smiled, "He's a little rough around the edges. He was in Afghanistan twice. He's not interested in ordinary women." Jada held her hand.

"One thing to remember. He's known a lot of cheap women. If you hit it off, don't go to bed with him for a while. He has to know you're a respectable lady."

Chica asked, "What does he look like?"

Jada took a picture out of her wallet and held it out to Chica. She said, "Wow. He's gorgeous. Is he as good inside as he is outside?"

"Yes. He's got a very good heart."

"In that case, I may wait until we get married to jump his body."

Jada smiled, "That might be a good idea. Dress to show yourself off and make it plain that he doesn't get the goodies without a firm commitment."

The conversation ran down but Jada didn't leave. She had something she wanted to say but didn't want to say it. Finally, she said, "There's more. He's a little battered. He was wounded and part of him stayed in Afghanistan. Go easy on him."

"I will. I'm a little battered myself."

Dinner that night was easy and comfortable. Jada and Isaac talked about the day's events and the people in the clubs and their histories.

When dinner was over, Jada led Isaac into her family room and had him sit on the couch. She laid down facing him. She wrapped her arm around his neck and kissed him then nestled against him. She didn't purr, but she could have.

He held her close for a long time then released her. She laid back in his arms and smiled at him with half-closed eyes. He kissed her again as he said, "I want to talk to you about something that has to do with us."

She became alert and interested, "What is it?"

Seriously and earnestly he continued, "We feel something here. It's something I've been wanting for a long time. I hope it becomes solid and permanent. I'd like to take it slow. I don't want to mess it up. So, no sex yet."

She nodded, "I agree. As long as I get enough time in your arms, we can postpone all that until later. It's a great idea."

He held her again. She snuggled.

An hour went by. They didn't talk or kiss, just shifted positions whenever one of them needed to. They didn't get bored.

Isaac kissed her goodbye and started for the door. Jada caught him before he left. She looked him in the eye, "How long will we have to wait? I'm not going to lie, I want you to hold me all night long."

"I don't know. We can hurry it along by being together more often. How about I stay tonight and sleep on the couch? Whenever you want to be held, you can come visit. No sex, though. Not until we have the test."

She asked, "What test?"

"It happens in every relationship. Two people get along great until something happens to put stress on their feelings for each other. If they get past it, they get married and stay together. If not, they look for someone else."

She thought about that for a minute and said, "That sounds about right. Okay then, until the test. Go home and get whatever you need to bring over here."

He was back in half an hour. They watched TV until it was time to go to bed. Jada brought blankets and a pillow. He went to bed on the couch, and she went to her bedroom.

Half an hour later, she lifted the covers over Isaac and slipped inside. She wore a tee shirt and shorts and cuddled against him. He lay on the sofa on his back. She put her nose against his neck and her arm across his chest and one leg between his. They both became vitally aware of his hardening cock and her pussy rubbing against his leg. She moved her leg. At one in the morning, she kissed him goodnight and left.

That Sunday, Jada's parents hosted a dinner for Jada and her new boyfriend, Isaac, and their son, John (Ox) and a nice girl named Chica.

Jada's parent's, Peggy and Bob, were decent, loving, conventional people. They lived in a lovely house in a better part of town.

After the introductions, Peggy and Bob looked at each other with a familiar expression on their faces. Peggy said, "The girls need to talk for a moment. Bob, take Isaac into the family room and show him your trophies." They waited until the men were gone, then Peggy turned to Chica, "Has Jada told you about our son's war injuries?"

"She mentioned it. She said he has a good heart. That's what's important."

"I hope you still think so after you've met him. He can't take being disappointed again." She examined the way Chica was dressed. Chica wore a short skirt and a blouse with a deep neckline, her bra pushing her cleavage upward. She had good legs and breasts, and she knew it. Peggy said, "You're lovely, dear."

Chica replied politely, "Thank you."

Peggy grinned, "Actually, 'You're lovely, dear' translated from middle aged mother speak means 'Damn you're hot'."

Chica laughed, "I like that better."

Peggy turned serious, "My son's a man, but he's wary. Other girls have hurt him. He may not pay much attention to you, but don't take it personally."

"I won't."

Peggy turned her head, "Bob, Isaac, bring John in now."

The women heard slow footsteps. Isaac walked in followed by Bob. A very heavy, muscular man walked up the steps from the family room to the front room. He carried his weight in his shoulders and chest. He had a big neck and a square head. "Ox" was exactly the right nickname for him.

He moved slowly with a cane. His left leg didn't work as well as it should have. His left sleeve was empty, and he had a long, jagged scar along the side of his face. It ran from just over his left eye down his face into his shirt. His expression was very guarded. He glanced at Chica for just a second then looked away.

Jada and Peggy gave him a hug. After that, everything seemed to stop. Everyone waited for John or Chica to do something. Chica took three steps and stood right in front of him, taking away his decision of whether to notice her or not.

Some relationships simply work because of the chemistry between two people. Others require that one of the two do exactly the right thing at exactly the right time for their relationship to go forward.

Chica put her fingertips on John's left cheek and turned his head to the side. She said, "Cool scars. What made them?"

John thought he'd gone to heaven. A gorgeous girl with big breasts hadn't run away when she saw him. She stayed right in front of him. She touched his scar.

His voice was happy. He didn't have to suffer an awkward dinner while the girl tried to look anywhere but at the left side of his face. He said, "Shrapnel took off my arm and hurt my leg. The scar came from pieces of the rear view mirror."

Chica stepped back and said, "I've got some. Want to see?"

He said, "Yes. Please."

Chica lifted her blouse up to her bra. She pointed to a puckered, round scar half an inch across that started just under her bottom rib. John touched it, "Forty five caliber?"

"Yes."

"Through and through?"

Chica held up her blouse in back and turned around so he could see the scar on her back. It was much bigger, at least three inches across. It was lower than the incoming wound.

John touched it, "Damn. This wasn't a military round. They don't spread open."

Chica continued, "Home made. Bastard sawed a cross on the bullet with a hacksaw. It spread out as it went through me."

John grinned, "Where's the other one? Or do I have to get to know you a little better before I get to see it?"

Chica grinned along with him, "Yes, you do. It isn't as spectacular, but it was more painful."

John looked at her with interest, "I'm glad it didn't kill you."

"So am I. I'm glad you're glad about it, too."

Dinner went well, by unspoken common consent, everybody but John and Chica kept quiet most of the time. John's combat stories and Chica's cop stories entertained everyone. Jada gave Isaac's hand a squeeze. He looked at her. She pointed quietly with her nose at John and Chica across the table. They weren't looking at each other, but their fingers rubbed together very softly.

After dinner, John and Chica wandered off while the rest of the family stayed in the kitchen. They ended up in Bob's office. John said, "You're wonderful. And rare. A woman with combat experience. And you didn't cringe when you looked at me."

Chica gave him a little kiss and whispered, "There's nothing wrong with you." She gave him another kiss, "I'm gonna be a little daring right now. I'm gonna give you a little enticement and explain my rules."

She paused for effect.

"I want you to remember that I'm a nice girl. I have morals and standards, but I think men sometimes need an incentive. So, here it is." She bent over as she had in front of Isaac, and held her blouse open. Her bra made her breasts look magnificent.

She continued, "Look some more. It's here for you and only you, but you have to earn it." She stepped back and pulled up her short skirt so it showed all of her legs, making sure just a hint of her pink, lace panties peeked out from under the skirt.

She turned her legs from side to side. He studied them as if they were on the test to keep living. She dropped her skirt and came close to him and asked, "Alright, do you like me?"

"You're wonderful. I'll remember this for the rest of my life."

"One more and I promise to stop. Police work was hard on me. My face isn't young and dewy any more. Look at me. Do I look too hard for you?"

John looked at her face intently. His expression softened. He didn't tell her she was a dream come true. Instead, he kissed her.

Chica's face and voice softened, "Good. I'm glad I passed inspection." She paused. "Now, I want you to tell me something, not because you're qualifying for something, but because I'll need to know it. What's your medical condition? What was damaged?"

John didn't say anything at first. He just looked at her. Finally, he said, "Do you realize how incredible you are? Most women would be running from me right now. You want to know what my injuries are." He kissed her again.

"Nothing that's going to get any worse. The shrapnel took my left arm and did some soft tissue damage in my leg. It's healed as much as it can The scar you've seen, but it hurts my good looks more than anything else."

She smiled. "Does everything else work?"

"Oh boy. Does it ever."

She stood very close to him.

"How soon do I get to see your other scar?" he asked,

She laughed, turned her back and hiked up her skirt to her waist. She lowered her panties and pointed to two scars on each side of her lovely butt. "The bullet hit me on one side of my rear end, rode along my pelvis and exited on the other side."

John said, "I've never met anyone with pretty scars before."

She dropped her skirt and faced him. "Play your cards right, soldier; and you'll see a lot more than that.

Isaac and Jada stayed away from sex for two weeks. Each night, they'd eat together, watch TV or play games then go to their separate beds. She always came back for extended cuddling. She loved to smell him and feel him move. He loved holding her.

They got horny, but kept it under control. Until the clubhouse nearly blew up with them in it.

Jada was helping Isaac with inventory. They were in the basement where the liquor was stored. She kept the records, and he counted.

Jada said, "Lovely ceremony today. You looked really nice in your uniform."

"Thanks. I don't wear it very often. If felt good."

"What are you going to do with your award?"

Isaac stopped for a moment, "It's too big to wear around my neck. I could put it on my car as a hood ornament, but that's illegal. I guess I'll just put it on my mantle piece." Isaac heard a cell phone ring.

Cops develop a good second sight about danger. Isaac's subconscious knew that there were only two cell phones in the clubhouse that could be downstairs. The members kept theirs with them, and they didn't come downstairs. Only Chica and Isaac carried cell phones into the store room. Chica left hours earlier. Isaac watched her walk to her bike talking on her cell. His cell sat in his back pocket and wasn't ringing.

The sound came from the back of the storeroom and sounded muffled, as if it were wrapped in cloth.

It took less than three-tenths of a second for Isaac's to realize the sound meant a bomb. He moved low to the ground and scooped up Jada by grabbing her mid-section. She was facing him and folded over his shoulder like a rolled up blanket.
