Jillian straightened her back. “So am I.”
Jaromir sighed. He knew it was pointless
to talk with Jillian. She had made up her mind, and no one could talk her out of it. She didn't see that her plans would lead her in the wrong direction. She wouldn't achieve anything by killing him and becoming the Queen to one of the two who had tried to take the throne from him.
Once he was gone, they would fight to the death for the throne without a second thought of what Jillian wanted. Right now they needed her though. She had lead them straight to him and given them a second chance of becoming
the Vampire King. Jaromir saw it in their eyes. Their hunger, their eagerness and their desire for everything that he represented, but none of them would be able to handle any of it. They wouldn't live long once the war began. Everything he had built up over the years would disappear within days if he died and one of them took over.
Jaromir knew that he had to survive this. If he had managed to s
urvive other times like this, then he would survive this as well. The difference was that this time he was tied down and defenseless. There was nothing stopping them from killing him.
Jillian too
k a few steps back without ever taking her gaze away from him. Jaromir swallowed when he watched one of the two vampires approach him. The guy was big with a body-builders body and shaved head. Death was in his eyes and a nasty grin on his lips. When the man pulled out a dagger from his jeans Jaromir paled.
“Why don't you untie me so that we can do this
like real men,” Jaromir said, never losing his calm.
The man grinned wider. “
Sorry, but I prefer it quick and dirty.”
“Where is your honor?” Jaromir growled.
The man pointed at the dagger. “Right here.”
It had been a few years since the man had tried to take his place, and Jaromir couldn't even remember his name.
Right now, he didn't care. All he cared about was the dagger in the man's hand and Megan. His life would soon be over, and so would hers. He cried on the inside because he couldn't stop this. His frustration rose, but he didn't allow it to reach the surface. He didn't want them to see how he felt. He should be scared, but the thought of failing Megan was stronger.
Jaromir
watched the man raise his hand, preparing himself to stab him.
Then he felt it.
The bond that had almost been gone came alive within him like an explosion. He gasped from surprise and his eyes grew big. The bond became clearer and stronger. He suddenly felt Megan in a way he hadn't felt her before. It was as if she was him, and he was her. The bond wrapped itself around him with love and passion. It lingered around every part of him and placed itself within his heart. Jaromir breathed fast and could barely believe what was happening.
He noticed that everyone in the room stared at him with suspicious
eyes. The man in front of him hesitated. He lowered his dagger and backed away.
Jaromir panted. His heart was beating fast, but it didn't protest when the bond placed itself within him. The connection to Megan was open now. He could feel her close. It was as if she was just beside him.
Jaromir saw her in his mind. She was sitting on a chair in a bar. Vampires surrounded her. Her eyes were closed, but it didn't matter. He was still able to tell where she was because she knew where she was. She had the image of the bar inside her mind, and that was enough. Shane stood behind her with his hands on her shoulders. He couldn't see him, but he felt that the man behind her was Shane. That image awakened Jaromir's possessiveness. No other man had the right to touch what was his! His fangs lengthen. He wanted to shake some sense into Shane, but then Jaromir noticed something different. Shane was talking and concentrating too. He was encouraging Megan.
The image went on.
Megan was focusing. At first, he didn't understand what they were doing, but it had something to do with the bond. They were somehow making it stronger, and the only way to make it stronger was ...
Jaromir gasped and if he wouldn't have been tied down to the chair, he would have flown off it.
Megan was becoming a vampire through the bond. She had picked up his essence that was within her and bonded it to herself. Her soul recognized him as a part of her now and it connected with her without a fuss. Her soul reached out for his essence, and since his vampire traits were more dominant than her human traits, her transformation to become a vampire began.
This was almost too good to be true. Joy awakened within him
, and he couldn't help himself. He laughed, making all the vampires in the room look at him as if he had gone crazy.
Jaromir felt the transformation happen within
Megan. She grew stronger, faster and deadlier, but his part in all this still remained. If he didn't respond, she would fail and it also meant that she would die. Being denied the transformation right in the middle of it was a death sentence. Jaromir felt that no one had told her that, but she knew it now. Thanks to his thoughts.
Megan
, he thought.
He felt her smile.
I'm right here, Jaromir.
Yes, very much so. I can feel you clearly.
And I can feel you. My, you sure are one of a kind, aren't you?
He laughed again, making the vampires
in the room retreat even more. He didn't care what they thought, but he enjoyed making them unsure. He knew that Megan felt what kind of person he was. She could literally feel him now, all of him, and he felt that she liked it. The bond they had now was a lot stronger than the one they had just a day ago.
Jaromir felt what kind of person she was as well, and at the exact moment
, he experienced her gentle but stubborn personality, he knew that he had made the right choice. She was perfect, and he knew that she felt what he felt. She liked being his perfect one even more.
Well, my dear, you know everything about me now
, he thought.
As you know everything about me.
Yes.
We are one, Jaromir. Finish the transformation. Make me yours.
My dear, you were always mine.
Jaromir closed his eyes. He didn't give a damn about the vampires in the room. They could stare as much as they wanted. He knew that th
ey wouldn't dare to hurt him, not now when they felt the change in the air around them. They knew something was going on. They stood as if frozen, even if they knew that this was the best time to attack, but they didn't. Not even Jillian moved.
Megan, you must find me quickly once the transformation is in place.
Why?
He grinned.
You will know why.
Megan didn't understand what Jaromir
meant, but when she felt his soul respond and accept her transformation, she knew what he had been talking about. In seconds, her desire and need for him awakened within her like an explosion. She had to have him. Now! She couldn't wait. If she had to wait, she would go crazy! The bond demanded that they seal what they had begun now that they have chosen to change her through it, and that could only happen with sex and the exchange of blood.
They were one now.
Shit!
Megan thought.
Jaromir, I'm burning up.
So am I, my love. So hurry up.
Megan gasped. She shivered and almost moaned in front of all of the vampires when she thought about the upcoming pleasure that she and Jaromir would share. She knew it would be wild and hard. It would be something she had never experienced before.
Megan stared at them all with wide eyes.
They stared back at her, studying her, waiting. No one moved.
She was breathing hard and her body was tensed.
The desire was so strong, too strong. Damn. This would be difficult to handle. Madness wasn't far away if she didn't reach Jaromir soon. Who knew what she would do if it took too long. In the worst scenario, she would rush inside the club, without a second thought, and kill her way to him.
She felt that there was another change too.
She wasn't the same anymore, but at the same time the change was subtle. She was still herself, she was still Megan, but on the inside she felt stronger, wilder and more determined. Very much more determined.
She looked around with new eyes. Everyt
hing looked much sharper. It was easier to concentrate and notice details in the room that she hadn't seen before. The walls were made from wood. That had been the first thing she had noticed when she had walked inside the bar, but now she also knew that the wood was birch. Usually, she could barely tell one tree apart from another, but this time she could smell what kind of tree the walls were made from. She could even see the cracks in the wood and within seconds figure out how old it had been when it had been cut down.
“Did it work?” Megan heard someone ask.
“She looks the same,” someone else said. “I've never seen anything like it. No screaming, no writhing on the floor and no growing fangs or change of eye color. She can't possibly be a vampire.”
A few of them came closer
, but Megan barely paid them any attention. She was too busy trying to understand her new world. It was true what they said. Everything had been painless, gentle and almost unnoticeable while she went through the change. She had barely felt it happen, only a hint here and there during the whole process. Not until Jaromir accepted her change, did all the vampire traits rush over her. It felt like she had been a vampire for many years. She knew exactly what her strength was and what her weakness was. She was fast, a lot faster than a human could ever get, but she wasn't a strong vampire. Others were a lot stronger, and if she would ever have to face a stronger vampire, the possibility of her ending up dead, was big. But her speed was something she could use, especially now. She needed to get to Jaromir.
The desperation was unbearable.
Her nipples were hard under her blouse and it was almost painful. Her lower part were yearning for him. She needed to feel him inside her, feel him fill her over and over again while their screams of pleasure filled the air.
For a second it actually felt like they were in the middle of it. That was how intense the feeling was, and she knew the same th
oughts lingered inside Jaromir's mind. She didn't just feel her desire burn like a mad fire within her, she felt his as well, and that made it twice as difficult to handle.
Jaromir
, she thought while taking deep breaths. She held a firm grip of the chair she sat on while rubbing her legs against each other.
I know, love
, he answered.
I feel it too.
I know.
Megan shook her head, but it didn't help. She had never been this aroused in her entire life, and unless she got Jaromir soon, it would only get worse.
Megan looked at the vampires in the bar. If
she didn't vamp out, they would still think she was a human. Her fast breathing and huge eyes didn't reveal to them that she was a vampire.
Then she felt the next change take place. Even if she couldn't see it, she felt it. Her eyes changed color. Some vampires had red eyes, some had almost white, and a few had black. Her eyes were black, and it meant that she had become a vampire through a bond instead of the regular bite-in-the-neck-way.
The
vampires in front of her relaxed and smiled. They had seen her eyes change color, and she hoped that they assumed that her fast breathing and tensing had something to do with the transformation. If they found out that it was from being aroused like hell, she would never stop blushing.
Then don't tell them
, Jaromir said inside her mind. She felt that this humored him, and that didn't surprise her.
Megan
snorted to herself, getting surprised looks in the process from every vampire in the room.
This is quite
something, isn't it, my sweet Vampire Queen?
Megan grinned.
It sure is, my dear Vampire King.
For a split second it felt strange to be called queen, but she liked the sound of it.
Megan heard Jaromir laugh inside her head.
You'll get used to it. Everyone is going to love you. Don't you see that they already love you?
Megan looked around at the vampires in front of her and knew that Jaromir was right. They all looked pleased and ready for the next step. Hope lingered in their eyes.
Carolyn rose from her chair and placed a hand on Megan's arm. “How do you feel?”
Megan wanted to scream that
if she didn't get naked with Jaromir soon, nasty things would happen, but somehow she managed to remain calm, and she knew that remaining calm was unusual for a newborn vampire. But she wasn't a newborn vampire. She had skipped the first few tough years thanks to her transformation through the bond. Instead, she had at once become the vampire she would have turned into after a few years.
Shane was still standing behind her with his hands on her shoulders. He held them firmly, and Megan knew why.
He would have an overhand if she would lose control, but Megan knew that it would never happen.
