I
listened in on Star's dreams one last time. Sometime just before
dawn when the sky still sparkled against the tropical black she drew
a deep breath. Star appeared just then, swinging lightly in her
hammock, framed by the beach she had fought so hard to protect. An
angel appeared and told her how this island had spun her, Star, from
the sand, from the sky and sea into its loving expression.
I
turned and looked back toward the rising light. Poho was calling me
with his gentle laughter and I left here forever.
