“I’ve always wanted to take a train with Mama and go see places outside of Ochiai,” Hajime said. “And I have two grandchildren on the way who need to be taught how to fish.”

His father had come from a family of fishermen before he entered the yakuza. He used to take him and Eiji fishing before Kazuhiko and Makoto were born.

“I heard Tomio married himself a foreigner,” Sagura said. “I don’t remember getting an invitation to the wedding.”

“That’s because my rebellious son eloped,” Hajime said. “You will get to meet the Mrs. soon. She’s a stunner.”

The sake was starting to sneak up on his father and his friends. “I think you guys need to go home and think about what we’ve said, and maybe come up with some suggestions on your own. Until then, we have to do a better job securing our businesses.”

“You also need to find out who is behind this shit,” Sagura said to Tomio. “If someone on the police force, or a government agent, has a vendetta against us, we need to know who it is.”

Tomio bowed to the older man. “I’ll get right on it.” It could take him a while, but eventually he’d learn the man’s identity.

After that, the meeting ended. Tomio said goodbye to his father and his friends, and he and the others left the headquarters.

“I think that is the house,” Akira announced after they had been riding in traffic for thirty minutes or so. “Wow, look at that fence.”

It didn’t take much to impress his driver.

“Only an ass would try to climb that,” Akira said.

A ten-foot-high brick fence was certainly a determent, but not impossible for an expert crook. But it was a good start since Ebony and the baby deserved to feel safe and sound inside the home. They had just passed an elementary school and a huge mall about a mile away. There was a park nearby and a grocery store that Ebony and the baby could visit.

Eiji’s car was parked right outside the gate. Akira drove up behind it. The gates opened and the first car drove inside. Akira followed. The gates closed automatically behind them. The house sat a distance away from the front gate. The grounds were beautifully landscaped with cherry trees, shrubs, and gardens. It sat on about an acre of land, and it had a couple of smaller buildings, like a multicar garage, and a shed for lawn equipment.

Eiji parked his car and got out. Akira pulled up next to it and Tomio joined his brother on the sidewalk.

“So, what do you think?”

“I like what I’ve seen so far,” Tomio said. He followed Eiji to the door. Eiji used a key to gain entry, and he and Tomio entered.

“It’s a new build so you won’t be taking on someone else’s problems,” Eiji said.

The foyer was every bit as impressive with an elegant staircase, high ceilings, wood floors, and recessed lighting. They removed their shoes and continued on.

“How many bedrooms does it have?” Tomio asked.

“Six, and six and a half baths,” Eiji answered. “Four upstairs and two downstairs. The two downstairs are master suites.”

“Good,” Tomio said.

“There’s also a nursery, an office, a huge kitchen, an entertainment room, a receiving room, and a parlor. And as an added bonus, there is a mother-in-law apartment behind it just in case you hire a nanny.”

“Excellent,” Tomio replied. Eiji took him through every room, and then outside where there was a pool and patio area. The pool had a high, secured fence around it. There was even a little courtyard for the baby to play and a creek filled with koi. Maybe he would get a puppy, too. “I love it.”

“I knew you would.” Eiji handed him a key. “It’s yours.”

Tomio chuckled. “I can’t believe it’s mine. What would you have done if I hadn’t wanted it?”

“I know your tastes better than you do,” Eiji bragged. “I also bought a house for myself. Gina wants to move. She said she’s tired of being queen bee in someone else’s hive.”

“Really? You guys are moving out?”

Eiji pulled out another set of keys. “Yes. I bought a little place near the parents, but far enough away to have privacy.”

“Mother is going to be so upset not having Gina there to help out,” Tomio said as they headed for the front door.

“She will survive,” Eiji said as they exited. “She has Haruka and Takara. Their free rides are over.”

Tomio chuckled. If anyone could get those two in line, it was their mother. He got back into his car. He couldn’t wait to go home and have dinner with his wife.

* * * *

Tomio was very cheerful when he got home, Ebony noticed. Normally he’d disappear into his office with his briefcase, and stay there until dinner was ready. Tonight he just put the briefcase away, showered, and joined her at in the kitchen table. Ebony had prepared soft udon noodles in a light soy sauce soup,
tebasaki—
chicken wings marinated in a sweet sauce and sesame—and pork cutlets with sweet miso sauce. She also served rice, vegetables, and tea.

“How was your work today?” Ebony asked him right after he began eating.

Tomio swallowed the food in his mouth. “Not bad. I attended a meeting with my father and the organization and met up with Eiji later to just shoot the breeze. How was your day?”

“I cooked and took an occasional,” Ebony answered. “You know hectic.”

Tomio chuckled at her joke. “You should try watching television or reading a book to help make the day go by.”

“I’ve read all the books around here. Maybe I should get me one of those electronic readers and just download the ones I like.”

“I’ve heard of those,” Tomio said. “They are supposed to be the rage in the United.”

Ebony smirked at him. “The rage? Where did you learn that term?”

“I’m hip,” Tomio bragged. “And I occasionally watch American television.”

Ebony laughed. “That’s so 1970s. The term is
I’m down
or
I’m straight
.”

“I’m very straight,” Tomio said, pointing to her belly.

She continued to laugh. “Even though it is the same two words it has different meanings.”

Tomio laughed along with her. “Some of your terminology is too complicated. People just need to learn to say what they mean. So, what kind of e-reader do you want?”

“At least you do know it’s called that. I think a Kindle.”

“Do you want an American or Japanese version?” Tomio asked.

“I didn’t know there was a Japanese version of Kindle.”

Tomio started laughing again. “I don’t either. I just wanted to sound intelligent.”

“American then,” Ebony said. “It doesn’t have to be anything fancy.”

“Well, download an app for it to your cellphone and read that way until the reader arrives.”

Ebony gawked at him. Tomio was pulling her leg all along. He was down with technology and just pretended not to be. “Okay.” Ebony went back to eating. “Ooh, maybe I can download some international cookbooks. I’m dying for some new cake recipes. Or maybe some erotic romance books.”

Tomio raised an eyebrow. “Are you trying to learn something new so you can continue to amaze me in the bedroom?”

Ebony nodded. “Maybe I should get
The Kama Sutra.

Tomio growled playfully at her. “Keep that up, and I’ll buy you a tablet or maybe a laptop.”

“Don’t you dare,” Ebony warned. “Do you know how heavy tablets are to carry in your purse?”

“No, I can’t say that I’ve had the experience.” Tomio said, still smiling at her. “
The Kama Sutra
? Do you have any idea what that book is, or are you just throwing that out there?”

“Oh, I know,” Ebony said. The truth is she had only heard about it. “I’ve read it a thousand times?”

“A thousand times?”

“Well maybe never,” Ebony admitted chuckling. “But I have heard of it.”

“Tonight I will demonstrate many of my favorite positions,” Tomio said.

“Many?”

Tomio nodded.

Ebony went back to eating. “You’re so crazy,” she said. After dinner Ebony served him dessert….cherry gelatin which was his favorite.

“Wife, your cooking is delicious,” he said as she cleaned up the kitchen. He wrapped his arms around her, hugged her, and kissed her on the back of the head.

“Thank you,” Ebony said. “I like cooking, and you should have a home-cooked meal when you come home from work. I’ll hurry up and do this and join you shortly.”

Tomio went to relax in the bedroom and watched some television. She joined him later after her bath. She had barely made it to the bed when he pushed her down and started kissing her. He brushed his hand under her gown and lowered her panties. Moments later, he entered her, burying his cock deep inside of her.

“You’re in a good mood,” Ebony said, grinding against him.

Tomio raised her legs and began thrusting hard and deep. “That’s because I have you to come home to. You’re like a breath of sunshine on a cloudy day.”

“Uh!” Ebony moaned as Tomio touched the right spot. A thrill went through her body as he continued to pay attention to the little erogenous zone inside. His cock rubbed up against her clit. She was wet enough without the help of a lube.

Tomio pulled out of her, put her on her knees, and entered her from behind. He eased a finger in her ass while he rode her. The man definitely knew how to keep her attention.

“Oh, Lord,” Ebony cried out as the orgasm rippled through her body. She backed up to him, taking in more of his rock hard dick. “Harder!”

Tomio withdrew the finger, spread the lips of her vagina, and sent his cock home.

“Ah!” Ebony came. She felt her orgasm drench his cock with her juices.

Tomio slowed his thrusts. “I do love the way that feels.” He pulled out to let her catch her breath.

Ebony pushed him onto his back and mounted him. She rode him hard, making the mattress and the bed shake.

“If we’re not careful, we’re going to end up on the floor,” he teased.

“I don’t care,” Ebony said. The desire between her legs had returned, and she needed to get her man off.

Tomio grabbed her by the hips and began guiding her body back and forth on his dick. His dick glided easily in her juices. The second orgasm nearly knocked her off him.

Tomio used his powerful muscles to move her from a seated position to a prone one on her back. His cock remained inside her as he moved between her legs and began feeding her pussy more of his cock. This time it was he who lost control. “Hold on, baby. It’s going to be…a gusher.” Tomio lifted her bottom with both hands and began moving his hips quickly, going deep with each powerful thrust. All she could do was lay there and be on the receiving in. He panted hard from the exertion. Finally he grunted and roared like the mighty king of the forest and filled her with his cum. There was so much, it gushed out of her when he withdrew. Tomio fell next her, breathing hard. “That was fantastic, baby.” His face and chest were covered with sweat.

She was pretty breathless, too. The baby inside her began to move. Ebony took Tomio’s hand so he could feel it, too.

“My son is also very frisky tonight. Do you suppose the baby knows what we were just doing?”

Ebony chuckled. “No. I don’t know. Maybe.”

“When is your next doctor’s appointment?”

“Next Monday.”

“I’ll see if I can get off to join you,” Tomio said. “We’re in this together.”

Ebony liked the way he thought. Too bad he wouldn’t be the one having the labor pains. She closed her eyes.

Chapter Nine

The last person Ebony expected to see at her front door was Setsuko.

“Well, aren’t you going to invite me in?”

Ebony opened the door wide and bowed. “Yes, Mother.”

Setsuko sashayed in. She was dressed in a plum-colored designer suit and black patent-leather shoes. Her hair was pulled back in a tight chignon and her face was expertly made up. She carried a matching black clutch. “This place is so small.”

“Please have a seat, Mother, while I prepare us some tea.” Setsuko sat down on the living room sofa. Ebony walked to the kitchen trying her best not to scream and wondering how long the visit would last. She put on the tea and when it finished, she carried it on a tray along with some sandwiches and cookies. Ebony poured for her mother-in-law first, then herself before rising and moving to a chair.

“I want you to get an annulment.”

Ebony stopped chewing the piece of chicken salad sandwich she had in her mouth and swallowed. “Pardon me?”

“I know there’s nothing wrong with your hearing,” Setsuko said. “I want you to end this marriage to my son.”

Even though Ebony knew that Setsuko felt that way about her, she hadn’t thought the woman had the nerve to suggest it. “Tomio would never allow it.” She knew it could be done if she was Catholic, but she didn’t know if it was done in Japan. And her baby might not be recognized as legitimate. Their marriage wasn’t forced or coerced. No judge in his or her right mind would grant such a thing.

“Who cares what Tomio will or will not allow,” Setsuko said. “You’re not good enough for him, or to be a member of my family.”
