He turned his heater up a notch and pushed a little on the gas. Best to get home, he thought. Then, he would dig into this thing. It would be good to do a little investigative journalism again.

He let the excitement warm him on his way home.

The
rusted-out delivery truck followed at a discreet distance, waiting to flip on its lights until the dusk had finally turned to night.
