“Kaia, you are having a miscarriage,” Dane
informed her.

She looked at him in surprise.

“You knew I was pregnant?” she asked
incredulously.

“I did,” he answered pragmatically.

“But how could you know?”

“I picked up on the altering of your scent,”
Dane explained. “I have been around enough pregnant females to know how it

“And you still wanted me?” She was finally beginning
