Her relationship with her brothers had stayed about the same—occasional phone calls on birthdays and major holidays. The big difference was that now they'd stopped trying to convince her to listen to their parents and at least refrained from commenting when she'd tell them about her art shows. Logan had seemed impressed with her successes the last time they'd talked.
They stayed at the reception for another hour or so before they headed back to the house they still shared with Matt so Chris could change out of his graduation regalia before they all went out for dinner to celebrate. Chris's parents went to their hotel to freshen up a little.
Chris tossed his cap and gown on the couch before pulling Megan in for a kiss. "I can't believe this is going to be my last summer in this house," he said when he broke away. “We'll have to look for a place together before I go to training camp. That way Matt can get his own place, too.”
Megan gave him a coy smile. “What if Matt and I are planning on staying roommates.”
Chris's hands on her sides tightened possessively, and he narrowed his eyes at her. “Huh-uh. Nope. You're my little roomie, and I can't wait until we don't have to share a place with anyone else. And with my signing bonus and the salary for next season we can get a nice place for us.”
The smile slid off of Megan's face. She smoothed the placket of the black button-down shirt he'd worn under his regalia. “I still feel weird letting you pay for it all yourself.”
He sighed. “We already went over this. You need to save your money for school, especially since you won't let me help with that. I want to rent a place for us to stay together. I'd be renting a place here to be able to be with you anyway. This way you won't have to find another roommate. It's the most sensible thing to do, and it makes me happy.”
His grin was infectious, bringing a smile to her face, but only for a moment before she grew serious once more. “It's going to be hard having you gone for so long.”
He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her more tightly against him. “I know. But it's only for like six months, and we'll see each other as often as we can. I'll come back once the season's over, and we'll be together here until you're done with school. Then we’ll get a place in Seattle. You can build more contacts and paint while I play football.”
She nodded. They'd been talking about this ever since he got drafted. It was a good plan. She liked their plan. She was just nervous because everything was changing so much. This was her first serious relationship and the stress of being long distance, even if only for a definite period of time, would be a big strain. Chris believed they could do it, and things had been great between them so far, so there was no reason to doubt.
Megan sighed and leaned her head against him. Things were changing, but it was for the better. Matt had a great new job and a steady girlfriend (finally), Lance and Abby were great together (which gave her hope for her and Chris because if Lance and Abby could do it, then why couldn't she and Chris?), and she was already starting to grow her brand as an artist. Chris was pursuing his dream of playing professional football. Things were falling into place. And she had the love and support of the sweetest guy she'd ever dated and his parents on top of that.
She lifted her face to Chris and he smiled down at her before pressing his lips to hers. It had taken a while to get there, but she was finally getting everything she'd always wanted.

Summer Fling

Book 1
One summer is all they have …
A chance encounter at a party brings Lance and Abby together.
Lance just graduated and has a summer internship. His parents expect him to come back to Texas to work in the family business at the end of the summer. He likes to have fun and doesn't want to be tied down too soon. Until he meets Abby.
Abby still has two years left of college and a mom who keeps her anchored near the town where she grew up. She is cautious in relationships, not letting people close. But Lance's persistence wears down her defenses. Knowing Lance is leaving, Abby tells herself it's just a summer fling.
Will that be enough to keep her from falling in love?
“
As he turned, someone knocked into Abby from behind. She lurched forward against the guy’s chest, crushing her cup against his abs and splashing the remains of her drink all over them both.
He let out a surprised shout. He had grabbed her upper arms to steady her when she ran into him, but had pushed her away when he felt the liquid soaking his shirt.
“Oh my God, I’m so sorry.” Abby covered her mouth with her hand, feeling like a complete moron. He stood there with his arms out looking down at the mess on his shirt. Then he looked at the matching stain on her shirt and his lips twitched like he might be suppressing a smile.
He cleared his throat. “It’s okay.” There was laughter in his voice.
Abby crinkled her brows in confusion.
Why is he laughing at me? I just spilled my drink all over him.
Then she noticed that his eyes were glued to her chest, and she looked down.
Abby gasped. Her light pink tank was more or less see-through now that it was wet.”

Excerpt:
“I’ve decided what your next step should be,” Amy says after the first movie is over. We’ve eaten half the pizza, and each plowed through half of our respective pints.
I groan, both from feeling overfull and with dread from hearing her decision for my life. “I’m stuffed,” I say, putting the lid back on my ice cream and getting up to put it in the freezer. “Do you want another Mike’s?”
“Sure. Aren’t you going to ask what I’ve decided?”
“No. I don’t want to know.”
“Yes, you do. It’s brilliant, I promise.”
“What happened to sympathetic Amy that I talked to on the phone earlier? Can I have her back?”
She grins. “Nope. It’s proactive Amy’s turn. Ask me what you should do next.”
I take a deep breath and brace myself. “Fine. What have you decided I should do next with my life?”
“You need a rebound.”
“What?”
“A rebound. You know, to bounce back.”

Always the bridesmaid …
Amy's best friend Jenna is engaged ... again. And she's asked Amy to be her maid of honor again. Amy can't help but feel jealous that Jenna's ready to walk down the aisle for the second time, especially when her own love life is virtually nonexistent.
Adam has wanted Amy since she first walked into his wine bar. After he finally got the chance to take her out, issues from his past got in the way.
Now she's dating someone else, and he's jealous of the lost opportunity.
Will Adam and Amy work out the issues from the past and present that are keeping them apart? Or will their jealousies ruin their relationships and keep them apart forever?
Excerpt:
“
A glass of red wine appears on the low table in front of me, next to my half drunk flute of champagne. A low voice rumbles next to my ear. “We just got in a new Syrah last week. Try it. I think you’ll like it.”
I turn in surprise to find Adam’s face close to mine. His dark hair has gotten a little long since I last saw him, curling more than it does when it’s shorter. I like it. I want to touch it, run my hands through it. There’s no hair product there that will make me feel like I need to wash my hands afterward. Of course, I don’t. We don’t have that kind of relationship.
