Ross was rock hard in a second. “I want you,” he murmured as he pointed something else out on the

car as his daughter still chatted with Ben, wanting to give off the impression they were talking about the car.

“I want you too, Johnny Reb. I am so wet for you right now.” Dezarae leaned close to him. “I would

love for you to take me up against the table, just rip down my pants and take me from behind.”

“Dez,” he growled, his erection throbbing painfully in his jeans.

“What a shame I have to go make some food for Ben,” she said as she walked off. “Food will be

ready in a few, Ben.”

Ross watched her leave, mesmerized by the sway of her full hips. Ben and Charmane left

immediately after leaving a hard, horny Ross alone in the garage with her car. Adjusting himself to try and

relieve some pressure, he was about to go inside when his phone rang.

****

Dezarae waved goodbye as Ben drove away in the semi. She hadn’t seen Ross since the garage. Tank

and the men left not long before Ben, her house done and cleaned up. So now Charmane was the only buffer

between her and Ross.

The phone at her side rang as she was walking to the shop. “Kerry,” she answered as she picked up

the packet that was in the Lamborghini that contained the owner’s color choice and personal preferences.

“Girl, what do you think?” Lateef’s deep voice asked her.

“I think this man is shameful for letting them get to this. I just got the packet and am trying to figure

out what order to do them in,” Dezarae said, looking over the three new cars in her shop.

“Well, he is looking forward to seeing how they turn out. What did you think of him when you

talked?”

“I think eccentric was being polite,” Dezarae responded as she recalled talking to the man that owned

the cars she had gotten today.

Lateef laughed. “Well, call if you need me. I gotta run, hot date, you know.”

“You? With whom?” she asked, skeptical.

“Oh, you don’t know her. I work with her,” he hedged.

“Uh-huh, what did I tell you about trying to pass those blow-up dolls off as real women? Come on

now, Lateef, you are attractive, you could get a real woman.”

“I would whup your ass if you were closer,” he snarled.

Dezarae laughed, “Me and my ass are trembling. Have fun, Babe, talk to you soon and hey…Lateef.

Thanks.”

“You are welcome, my dear.” He was gone in the next second.

CHAPTER 19

Closing the screen behind her, Dezarae saw Charmane watching a movie. “Hey, Charmane,” she

said.

“Hey, Dez.” Her brown eyes smiled as she looked at her friend. “I finished my homework; is it okay

if I watch this?”

With a slight lift of her shoulders, Dezarae answered, “That is between you and your daddy. I’m not

in charge of you anymore.” She moved down to the hall. “I will be in my room if you need me. I have to

change clothes.”

Entering her room, Dezarae peeled off her dirty shirt and tossed it into the hamper as the door shut

behind her. Walking to her closet, she took out a clean pair of pants and a sweatshirt. It was going to be cool

tonight and she didn’t want to be shivering the whole time on the wagon ride.

In her bra and panties, she headed to her bathroom and turned on the shower as her remaining clothes

hit the floor. The shower she took was quick but when she opened the door to step out, she froze.

There, leaning on the marbled bathroom countertop, was Ross Connelly. He had on an indecently

tight black shirt that only enhanced his defined chest and a pair of jeans that looked painted on him. No shoes

were on his feet, only a pair of socks.

“What do you think you are doing here?” Dezarae asked as she reached for the robe that was by the

door.

The eyes that met hers were haunted, not at all the ones she would have expected to see. She did get

to see the heat flare up in them before it was gone; something was seriously wrong for him to be this

deadpan.

“What’s going on, Ross?” Nothing but concern filled her voice as she walked to stand in front of

him. Still silent, all he did was look at her with a need in his eyes and she opened her arms. Ross sagged

against her, his face in her neck. Unsure of what to say to him, Dezarae allowed him to lean on her for a

while.

So in the bathroom, full of steam from her shower, Dezarae comforted the man who had taken over

her heart. While her arms surrounded him, Ross felt that there was a chance things would work out. He was

with his Phoenix, his firebird. Everything would be okay in the end.

Ten minutes passed before he pulled away and looked into her sympathetic gaze. “I’m sorry,” he

mumbled, brushing a wet strand of her hair away from her face.

“What’s wrong?” Dezarae wanted to know.

Closing his eyes briefly, Ross opened them to see she was still watching him. “Nothing is wrong,

I’m okay now.”

Not wanting to hear that answer from him, she nodded, considering she was less willing to pry into

something he didn’t wish to share. “Okay, then, do you think you could leave so I can get ready for tonight?”

His eyes got a wicked glint in them as he said in a husky timbre, “I think you are dressed too much

for what I have in mind.”

Holding him off with one hand, she smiled. “Sorry, I was talking about the wagon ride after the

festival today in town.”

“Wagon ride? As in sitting with a date kind of wagon ride?”

“I guess you could go with a date. I am.”

The hell you are.
“Who the fuck is your date?” he growled.

Dezarae didn’t blink. “Your daughter.”

Shocked, he frowned. “Charmane is going?”

“Why not? We had planned on it since we didn’t know when you were coming back.” she said.

“Will you be my date and sit beside me, keeping me warm?” His breath teased her neck as he

prowled around her.

“No,” she managed to get out.

73

“Why not?” He trailed one hand over her hip grabbing her ass as he moved on.

“Because Charmane should be your date.”

“Can’t I have two?”

“Sure, but not if one of them is me.” Dezarae’s senses were swimming. He had stopped behind her.

“Well, that settles it then. I will just have to take you now,” he whispered in her ear. One leg nudged

hers apart as he jerked up her robe.

“What are you doing?” Dezarae asked even as her body flooded with anticipation of upcoming

events.

“Giving you what we both wanted in the garage,” he said, putting her hands on the smooth

countertop, opening the tie of her robe at the same time. “Look at you,” he said.

Dezarae did as she was told. Her body was leaning over the counter, her breasts hanging down,

almost touching the smooth cool surface, the bottom of the robe bunched up around her waist. She jumped as

she felt his fingers slip inside her wet channel.

“You
are
wet for me, Firebird,” he said as he withdrew his two fingers and sucked them clean. “And

you still taste like candy.” His hand gathered her hair and set it over one shoulder.

She could feel his erection poking her. Dezarae almost groaned in relief when she felt him prod the

entrance of her vagina. Her body pressed back against him, encouraging him to proceed.

“It was wrong of you to tease me in the garage,” he reprimanded.

“Wrong,” she agreed.

“Oh, Dez,” he murmured in his sexy voice, “I want to make slow love to you.”

“Yes,” she said as her body pushed back on him more.

“No, I can’t do that.” Ross moved his penis away from her.

“Ross,” she pled.

“What?” His raspy voice asked.

“Please.” Dezarae searched for his gaze in the mirror.

“Oh, don’t worry. I just said I couldn’t make
slow
love to you.” With that, he drove home in one

swift stroke. Sending Dezarae forward, the tips of her breasts dragging across the cold marble which sent

another type of tremble through her.

“Ah, hell,” she drew out. “More, Ross, more.”

“Watch me as I move in and out of you,” he commanded, increasing the intensity of his pounding.

Her eyes were on him as he had sex with her in the bathroom. His lighter hands were on her

shoulders, holding her so her breasts skidded across the counter with each thrust. She was biting on her lower

lip as her orgasm grew closer. “Harder, Ross, harder.”

He obliged her.

Almost there, she was just about there when from the other side of the door came, “Dez? Are you in

there?” It was Charmane.

“Answer her,” he mouthed at her. Ross slowed his strokes but didn’t stop. The second she tried to get

him to stop, he drilled into her once, hard. When her eyes opened he shook his head no.

“Dez?” The question came again.

“I…I’m in here Charmane. Just finishing up from my shower,” Dezarae lied as she was rewarded

with two more hard thrusts from the man behind her.

“Well, then I guess you haven’t seen my daddy. I wanted to tell him about tonight,” the child said.

“I’m sure he will be fine with you going tonight. In fact, he may even want to come…come with us,”

Dezarae offered as he brought her closer to her release.

“I’m gonna go look for him,” Charmane said.

Dezarae bit her lip to contain a moan of pleasure. “Okay.”

Ross leaned in and whispered, “I want to come with you. Want me to stop?”

“Not now, she’s gone. Damn you, Johnny Reb, let me come,” she muttered.

“Don’t call me that,” he growled as he stopped moving altogether.

“Ross,” she wailed, totally unconcerned about whether she could be overheard or not.

Dropping his hands from her shoulders, he gripped her hips and held her up more as he pounded into

her. “What, Firebird?”

“Let me come,” she heard herself beg.

“Will you be my date tonight?”

“Yes, anything. Just let me come.” Dezarae ground out as she pressed back against him.

“Anything?” his question fell.

“Anything,” she promised.

“And I can claim it whenever I want?”

“Yes, yes.” Her voice was hoarse.

“Very well, Firebird,” Ross said before he began to piston his hips, driving deep into her craving

body.

The only sounds were their grunts as they both reached the pinnacle at the same time. Ross barely

managed to pull out in time but he did and his ejaculation covered her ass as they both quivered from the

intensity of the sex.

Dezarae collapsed on the countertop, the marble cool against her heated skin.

Breathing heavily, Ross stripped off his clothes and walked to the shower, turning it on. Then he

walked back to Dezarae, removed the robe completely, and put her in the shower with him.

He quickly washed off the traces of their lovemaking and got them out of there before Charmane got

suspicious. With Dezarae wrapped in her robe again, and him with a towel around his waist, he kissed her.

“You go first and make sure she isn’t around, and then I will sneak to my room,” Ross said.

Eyes still heavy from her explosive orgasms, she nodded and walked out, leaving the bathroom door

slightly ajar. “Charmane,” Dezarae called. “Did you find your father? What did he say?”

“I didn’t find him, Dez,” the girl yelled back.

“Well, maybe he went outside to take a walk around. I know he did that when he was here before,”

Dezarae suggested as Ross walked out of the bathroom and leaned against the wall by her bedroom door.

“I will check by the shop, thanks, Dez.” They heard the screen door slam and Dezarae inhaled

sharply as her eyes saw Charmane through her window running towards the shop.

When Dezarae looked at Ross to tell him to hide, he was no longer there. He was in the hallway,

carrying his clothes. “See you in a few, Firebird.” Then she was left holding the towel he had used and

watching as his firm yet naked ass moved up the hall.

****

Ross was laying Charmane in the backseat. She was exhausted. The wagon ride took a lot out of her

since she wasn’t used to being so active. Carefully closing the door, he looked up to see Dezarae talking

animatedly with Shawn. Frowning, he walked over to them and slid his arm around her waist. “Ready to go

home?” he asked, intruding on their conversation.

Shawn looked at the stranger who had his arm around Dezarae. “I will see you tomorrow then,

Phoenix, okay?”

“Sure thing, Shawn, around noon good?” Dezarae asked, not even acknowledging Ross’s display of

possessiveness.

“See you then, Phoenix. Good night, Mr. Connelly,” Shawn said with a smile and walked off.

“Think you could be any more possessive?” Dezarae asked the man who held her close.

“I could be much more possessive; now let’s go home.” He kissed her cheek oblivious to the stares

from the townspeople.

Rolling her eyes, Dezarae walked to her vehicle and smiled as she saw Charmane sleeping soundly

in the backseat. “Why are you being possessive?” she asked as he slid in on the passenger side.

“I want that wannabe deputy to know that he needs to stop asking you to marry him.”

“My relationship with Shawn is really none of your business, thank you very much.” Dezarae started

her old Rover and began the drive home.

“Everything about you is my business. He isn’t the man for you and you know it. You need someone

who is going to bring out your passionate side even when you aren’t working on one of your cars. He can’t
