He had a sound plan that not even Nolan knew the details of. And that plan was sure to yield the highest reward.

When the man Haley was waiting for entered the room, Jude let the curtain fall back into place. The client wouldn’t fuck her, but Jude still couldn’t let himself watch.

He turned to the man sitting in the chair next to him, his hands resting on his belly. “Are you ready for the job?”

“I think so. I just don’t get—”

“You don’t need to understand. Just do as I say. Get her out of here under the pretense that you’re going to fuck her. Take her to the Lux Hotel. I’ll provide a car for you.” Jude stood and zipped up his coat. “Do as I say and you’ll be off the streets for life.”

The man scratched his bald head. “What do I do once I get her to the hotel?”

“Order a bottle of champagne. Make sure she drinks some. After that, you’ll be out of the picture. I’ll do the rest.”

“Sounds like a plan.” The man paused. “Do I get any compensation for giving you my time tonight?”

Jude took out his wallet and pulled out a couple of bills. Without counting them, he handed them to his partner in crime. “Use some of the money to get yourself a nice suit. You need to look the part.”

The man grinned and stuffed the notes into his pocket.

They walked out of Allure together and parted outside. Jude walked to his limousine, and the man continued his life as a drunk on the streets of Serendipity.

Nolan drove Jude back to his mansion in Madison. He wouldn’t return until the night Haley entered his life, the night he turned back the clock and rewrote history.
