Chapter-2
Shannon

Cece walked out to the bar. She needed another beer after what just went down with Kim. Shannon Storm was seated at the bar, so she pulled up a stool next to her.

"Rough meeting with Kim?" Shannon looked over at her.

"You might say that."

Cookie came over and took her order.

"Bottle of Coors, Cookie."

She cracked open a cold one and sat it down in front of Cece.

"Thanks." The beer tasted mighty cold and refreshing. Just what she needed at the moment.

"Kim's really been acting kind of funky lately with all the religious crap she's been spouting, like not needing another man in her life but Jesus. Now I'm all cool about that, but when somebody tries to cram their beliefs down your throat, that's where I draw the line," Shannon said, sipping her beer.

Shannon had recently gotten a divorce from her husband of sixteen years, Ken Storm. She could no longer hide the fact that she liked women from him any longer. She broke his heart, he was a nice guy, but she had to move on. She was now thirty-five years old and in fact had never been involved with another woman intimately. She figured life was too short and she had to be true to herself.

"Exactly. I had to explain to her that the club existed to support each other, not tear other women down, or sabotage the club's interests. That woman is a trip. I told her I was willing to give her a second chance."

"You're such a softie, Cece."

Cece grinned, exposing a full set of teeth, "Gee, do you think so?"

"From what I've seen so far, yeah," Shannon looked at her with approval.

Okay, Cece, do what you've wanted to do since the first time you laid eyes on Shannon Storm.

"Would you like to go out and grab a bite to eat one of these nights?"

"Yeah. I'd like that," Shannon said, biting her lower lip as she smiled and nodded slowly.

God, she had the most beautiful green eyes Cece had ever seen. "Well, then. What kind of food do you like to eat? Is there any place special you'd like to go?"

"Why don't you surprise me."

I'd like to surprise you, alright. I'd like to give you a delightful surprise. Easy, Cece, she just got divorced from a guy not too long ago.

"Alright, I will."

The two ordered another bottle of beer and continued their conversation.

"So where are you from, Shannon?"

"Boulder. I got the house in the divorce settlement. My ex wanted to keep his boat and snowmobile. All his outdoor winter sports stuff."

"I used to date a professor from Boulder. She teaches a class in botany there, having to do with the joys of marijuana."

"Sounds interesting. How long were you two together?"

"Well, we weren't really together actually. We dated off and on for about two years. More off than on. She started dating one of her students. I don't know if the two of them are still together or not. Actually, I have to get in touch with her this week-the student, that is. Her name's Staci Walker, and she works at
Realm Of Caring's
new satellite office in Boulder. She should be able to help us coordinate things with the poker run. I also want to take along a couple fliers for them to hang in the office."

"Well, if you need any help on the Boulder end, just let me know."

"I most definitely will. Thank you."

"No prob."

"I'll give you a call in a couple of days about dinner, Shannon. I'd better saddle up and ride. I've got a lot of stuff to catch up on when I get back to Longmont. I've enjoyed getting to know you a bit better."

"Same here, Cece. Talk to you soon."

Cece couldn't wait to go out with Shannon. It set her heart aflutter just thinking about it. Her heart wasn't the only thing fluttering at that moment. The woman was beyond hot, to say the least. Cece had kind of laid off playing the field in recent months since the whole Professor Holloway thing. She tended to get herself in trouble at times.

***

Wheeling her Harley Sportster into her driveway, Shannon Storm couldn't believe her good fortune. Cece Myers had asked her out on a date! She had admired Cece from day one, when she signed up to be a member of the Wayward Angels Motorcycle Club.
Admired her, hell!
She had been fantasizing about her since they first met a couple of months ago.

Shannon was still a virgin in the making love to a woman department. The only time she had been with a girl was back in sixth grade, when her seventh grade friend, Patti had laid her head on her shoulder commenting,
'This must be the way it feels when you lay your head on your boyfriend's shoulder.'
Shannon didn't know about that. All she knew was it felt damned good to have her friend's head there, resting on her shoulder. She never wanted it to end. She had the urge to kiss Patti, but she never did.

She continued to have those urges throughout her sixteen-year marriage, but had never acted on them. She wasn't the type to cheat on someone she was involved with, especially her husband, Ken. She had married a man more or less to please her family's expectations of what was considered socially acceptable. She should have known better, still she followed her mother's lead and married straight out of high school. She had been the stereotypical June bride. It wasn't that she didn't love Ken. The sex wasn't bad either, but something was missing. Something significant. She needed a woman to fill that void. She no longer wanted to drag a marriage out that was lacking. It wasn't fair to her, or Ken, for that matter. She couldn't give him what he needed in a woman.

She wheeled the Harley around and parked it next to her racing bike, a modified red Ducati Panigale R. At 1198 cc's, with a six-speed transmission, it was a machine to be reckoned with on the track. She had been racing motorcycles seriously since she was in her mid-twenties. Shannon was also a Motorcycle Safety Foundation certified instructor. She had recently taught Madge Delaney how to ride the safe and proper way before she purchased her trike. You were never too old to learn to ride. It was however, important to her that people learn to do it the right way.

Tomorrow morning it would be back to work for Shannon. Her 'nine to five' was spent working as a union electrician. She had been with a company over the past ten years that went by the name of Megavolt Electric. It paid the bills and enabled her racing hobby. Most of the work they did involved new log homes and other residential wiring, although she had worked on a few major commercial contracts, including the
Savage Architectural Design Building,
in downtown Denver. Kelsey Savage and her wife owned the business and her own fellow club member, and MSF student, Madge Delaney, was their housekeeper. It was a small world, indeed!

Shannon looked forward to just kicking back for the rest of Sunday evening. She walked into the kitchen and grabbed a cold beer out of the fridge and finished off the other half of a Jimmy John's Italian sandwich left over from the night before, along with a fresh peach. She sat down at the table and opened up the Sunday copy of the Denver Post newspaper.

The house had been a little bit quiet since her ex husband had moved out. She really wanted to start dating again and her mind kept drifting back to Cece Myers. Damn, Cece was one of the sexiest women she had ever laid eyes on. Just the thought of kissing those pouty lips of hers stirred up feelings of her own that were hard to contain. She was looking forward to going out with her. She just hoped she would be able to hold back her obvious enthusiasm when the time came.

Shannon walked into the living room and plopped down in her recliner. She couldn't help but think of the future-her future with a special woman in her life. The very thought of it made her smile. She switched the TV on to ABC and had a good chuckle while watching an episode of
America's Funniest Videos
. She busted up when a heavy-set blonde woman popped the clutch on a dirt bike and ran it straight through the garage door of her house.

"Ouch!" Shannon winced, tears running down her face, "Me thinks she needs to take my motorcycle safety course."

Her phone rang. It was Cece Myers. "Hi Shannon. Just wanted to see if you made it back okay."

"Oh, yeah. I was just busting a gut watching some woman crash her dirt bike through a garage door."

"Oh, gawd!"

"That's what I was thinking."

"Speaking of thinking. Are you free Friday night?"

"I'd better check my calendar. Yeah. Of course I am, why?" she chuckled.

"Well, I thought I might pick you up around six or so and we could grab a bite to eat at Deb's Diner, unless you'd rather go someplace else."

"Oh, no. I mean yes. Deb's is a fun place. I'd love to go with you."

"Cool. We'll do that then. Maybe we can stop by the Lavender Light afterwards, if you want?"

"Sounds fun. I'm looking forward to it."

"Great. I'll call you later in the week and we'll cement our plans. Take care!"

"You, too. Bye."

"Bye."

Shannon was smiling. Her date with Cece was now official.

Chapter-3
First Date

It was a busy work week for Cece. They were resurfacing a highway out by Fort Collins. At least the weather was cooperating. There was a cool mountain breeze blowing and occasionally a cloud would pass over, providing the road crew needed shade. Yes, it was a perfect day to be a flagger.

Being a highway flagger was considered the most dangerous job for the road crew. Cece had had a few close brushes with the grim reaper herself due mostly to speeders and distracted drivers. It was about the same when you rode a motorcycle, just more amplified because you were standing out there, fully exposed to danger. She wasn't immune on her bike to the distracted drivers and cell heads veering into her lane. In her opinion, nobody should be talking or texting on a phone while their vehicle is in motion. She had known workers who had been clipped by the occasional car or truck. The area where she was currently assigned was good, in that the traffic flow was low and slow.

With Friday's arrival, Cece was getting excited about her upcoming date with Shannon Storm. The woman was beyond hot, but she intended to be on her best behavior. Unlike some of the women in her past, she hoped her relationship with Shannon would actually go somewhere. Perhaps it was because she was getting older. At thirty-one, she was by no means and old woman, but she felt it might be time to put down a few roots and actually fully commit. She had no unrealistic expectations as far as Shannon was concerned, but she did find her quite attractive in many ways.

That day's work seemed to take forever as she waited anxiously for it to end. She just wanted to get home, take a quick shower and go grab a bite to eat with Shannon.

At long last, it was time to drive back home to Longmont. It would take her a little under an hour. Giving herself about thirty minutes to clean up and get dressed, it would take her an additional half hour to drive to Shannon's place in Boulder. Plenty time for a little dinner and dancing.

Cece swung her four-wheel drive white Ford F-150 into her driveway. She quickly got out, grabbed the mail and unlocked the front door. Stepping inside, she made her way to the kitchen and placed the stack of mail on the table. She grabbed a cold Coors from the refrigerator and took a long swig.
Aah!
How refreshing after a sweaty day on the job. She shuffled through her mail, sticking the unimportant stuff in her small paper recycling bin. The bills could wait until tomorrow.

She bounded up the staircase and made her way to the bedroom. She quickly stripped her musty, dirty jeans and white t-shirt off, tossing them into the clothes basket. She turned the valve on the shower and placed her hand under it, waiting for it to get warm.  When the temperature was just right, she stepped inside and let the water flow over her long raven hair and face and cascade gently down over her breasts. Damn, it was rejuvenating! She lathered herself up and then rinsed her body off with the handheld sprayer. After making sure every nook and cranny was clean, she stepped out and dried herself off with a fluffy  beige cotton towel.

She slipped on a pair of white cotton boy briefs and one of her orange and black Harley t-shirts. Her boobs weren't so big that she had to wear a bra, so most of the time she didn't. Tonight was one of those times. She slipped on a pair of clean socks and pulled her black pewter-toed and heeled boots on over them. She put her wide black leather belt through the loops on her jeans. Checking to make sure everything looked good, she bounced down the stairs, grabbing the keys to her truck off the small end table by the door leading outside.

Before jumping back in the F-150, she phoned Shannon to let her know she would be there in about thirty-five minutes. She had arranged a couple days earlier to pick Shannon up at her place. She backed out of her driveway and headed for Boulder.

Cece was thrilled with the idea of getting to know Shannon Storm better-a lot better. Those sultry green eyes of hers turned her into a pile of goo. She had to take it slow, though. Shannon had never been with a woman in the romantic sense before and she sure didn't want to come across as pushy. Good things were worth the wait, just like a slow cooked dinner that assaulted your sense of smell for hours as it simmered.
Yum!

She wheeled the F-150 into the driveway in front of Shannon's home. It was a nice split-level home with a three-car garage. Cece hopped out of the driver's seat and walked to the front door. She knocked. Shannon opened the door with a smile that almost knocked her boots off.

"Hi, Cece! Come on in," she said, stepping back to usher her in with a sweep of her hand.

Cece thought the red-headed woman looked very sexy in her light red and white checkered gingham blouse tied off at the midriff. Two of the top buttons were undone, revealing a subtle hint of cleavage.
Oh, my God!
She would find it harder than hell to control her inner inhibitions tonight. She also wore a pair of faded black denim shorts, accented by a wide, light brown belt. A pair of short, flowery summer platform shoes with natural wooden heels and soles set off the ensemble. They highlighted her calf muscles in all the necessary places.
Wow! Hold yourself back, Cece.

"Well, Cece, would you like the grand tour of the house now, or after we get back from dinner?"

"After dinner would probably work out best, I'm kind of famished."

"All right, then. I'm ready if you are."

"Ready as I'm gonna be."

Shannon grabbed a pair of big, brown-rimmed sunglasses off her table by the door. She set the security alarm on the lock. Bouncing down the three steps, she made her way toward the F-150. Cece opened the passenger door for her, watching her firm butt as she climbed into the passenger seat, buckling her seat belt.
Whew! This woman is so damned hot!
Cece could feel that longing sensation growing between her legs. Making sure Shannon's long legs and fingers were tucked safely inside, she closed the passenger door. Then she climbed in the driver's side.

"Nice truck," Shannon said.

"I like it. Of course I like my bikes better."

"You and me both."

It didn't take them too long before they reached their destination. Deb's Diner was a favorite among the locals. Word of mouth was really all the advertising they needed. Getting out of the truck, they strode towards the metal and glass front door. Deb's was a retro themed diner that boasted some of the best food for miles.

"I love this place," Shannon said removing her sun glasses and looking around. She ran her fingers through her hair, shaking it out. "I stopped here a time or two when Ken and I were married. I really enjoyed the food."

"They give you enough to feed the troops," Cece agreed. "No going hungry here."

They walked over to one of the red and white booths and sat down across from each other. Above them was the iconic poster of Marlon Brando, from
The Wild One
. The waitress brought them their menus and a couple glasses of water.

"Can I get you two ladies anything else to drink while you look over the menu?" the college-age woman asked as she looked between them.

"I'll take an unsweetened raspberry tea please," Shannon said.

"And I'll have the same, only make it peach," Cece added.

"Great," the young waitress said with a smile, "I'll be right back with your drinks while you look over the menu!"

The two of them looked over their menu's.

"I don't know about you, Shannon, but my stomach is grumbling for one of their delicious hamburger deluxe's with a pile of artery-clogging fries."

"I'm hungry, too. I think my heart is set on the French dip though. Oh, and the pile of crinkle fries."

Their waitress returned with their drinks and they placed their orders.

"Mmm, delicious," Cece said as she took a sip of her tea.

"I agree," Shannon smiled.

As they waited for their food to arrive, Cece looked up at the poster from
The Wild One
above them. "He's sitting on my Triumph, you know."

"Yeah. You wish. I would kill to own that bike."

"No, seriously," Cece said, "I don't mean
that one
exactly, but I did just recently purchase one like it at auction."

"No!" Shannon's eyes bugged out as she leaned forward across the table, "Really? You can't be serious!"

"Serious as an attack of angina, my dear."

"What? Tell me?" Shannon could barely contain her excitement.

"Yep. A genuine 1950 Triumph Thunderbird."

"Whoa! That must have set you back a pretty penny."

"Kinda. Working overtime helps. It needs some restoration work. I need to hunt down a few original parts for it, but it's definitely doable."

"Oh, I would love to see it and maybe help out if you need and extra hand with it. I don't claim to know everything about motorcycle mechanics, but I can hold my own."

"I just might take you up on that, Shannon. Expect a call from me."

"Oh, and you might want to enlist the help of Karen Bates, she is a certified motorcycle mechanic. I think it's a shame what Kim tried to pull with her regarding the oil change class. I don't get what her problem is."

"I know what you mean. She has some major self esteem issues, although she would probably tell you just the opposite. She's trying to fit in and going about it all the wrong way."

The waitress delivered the plates of food to their table. "Is there anything else I can get you ladies?"

"Not at the moment. Thank you very much," Cece smiled up at her.

"This looks fantastic!" Shannon beamed, squeezing out a small mound of ketchup and dipping a fry in it.

Cece bit into her hamburger, chewing a small bite. "Yum! Delicious as always." She wiped a small amount ketchup and mustard away with her napkin.

Shannon took a bite of her sandwich after dipping it into the au jus gravy. A piece of the roast beef dropped off and fell inside her blouse and into her cleavage. Cece so wanted to retrieve it for her, preferably with her lips.

"Damn! Looks like I'm trying to feed the girls again!" Shannon chuckled.

Cece laughed in return, "I sometimes have that problem myself. Comes with the territory of being a woman I guess."

Shannon made a bib out of her napkin and stuffed it in her blouse. "I forgot how messy these could be."

"Messy but good, as the French say. "So tell me, Shannon, how long have you been racing bikes?"

"Oh, I actually started in my early teens, believe it or not. I preferred dirt bikes back then. Now it's all out women's superbike racing in the 1000 cc class. That's where my heart is now."

"Thant's a big bike. I would love to watch you race one of these weekends."

"I'll see what I can do to arrange that. Maybe we can make it a club outing, or something."

"True. I'm sure a lot of the women would love to go."

They finished their meal and the waitress refilled their tea as the two of them sat talking another hour or so, before they finally got up and left.

They decided to make the trip to The Lavender Light, on a different night. They were both kind of exhausted from their work weeks, as well as the heavy meal they had just consumed. Besides, Cece looked forward to getting to know Shannon a little bit better back at her home in Boulder. At least she hoped she would be invited in for a nightcap, or something.
