House Maignart

Before the War of Four Kings, House Maignart was the royal house of Daleraia. The Daleraians pride themselves on their fierceness in battle, the Maignarts most of all. The Maignarts are as harsh and hard as the mountains their castle—Minas Bothe—is built upon.

The emblem of House Maignart is a mountain (brown on a field of burgundy, the Maignart colors).

• King Terrowin Maignart I, deceased. Was said to have begun the feud between House Maignart and House Toustain by kidnapping Princess Farah of Dinasdale and forcing her to become his concubine. Slain in the Battle of the Kings, 1256.

  War of Four Kings. Taken as a hostage by Lord Favian Toustain of Dinasdale. Perished giving birth to Lord Favian’s son—who also did not survive—before she could be rescued. It is said that her death is the reason King Terrowin II refused to make peace with Dinasdale.
  
• Lord Theodric Maignart, firstborn son of King Terrowin Maignart II. Warden of the South and High Lord of Daleraia and all its lords, vassals, and villeins. Resides at Minas Bothe, the principal seat of Daleraia. Theodric is known for his part in bringing Daleraia together with Dinasdale in peace by sitting on the council formed of neutral parties from either side.

  gnart, illegitimate daughter of Lady Loreena Maignart. No one knows for certain who her father is, though rumors abound that he was Sir Ulric Arundel, a fearless warrior and hero slaughter in the Battle of the Athils.
  

• Sir Destrian Maignart, brother of King Terrowin Maignart I. Lord of Enthorm. Knighted for leading his vassals in defending the village of Enthorm against a siege perpetrated by the Dinasdalians
  during the War of Four Kings.
  

House Durville

The Durvilles are the lords of
Quaos and allies of the Maignarts of Daleraia. The city of Quaos is known in Daleraia for its lucrative spice market, which has made the Durvilles one of the wealthiest families in Daleraia. Quaos Keep, the Durville’s principal seat, is an overly large and ostentatious castle at the heart of Quaos, a spectacle in lavishness and wealth.

Before the Great War, The Toustains were the royal house of Dinasdale. The Dinasdalians are known for their cunning and intelligence, as well as superstition and reliance upon religion and astrology. As fighters, are they are master strategists and archers, as well as excellent hunters.

is an archer (silver on a field of navy blue, the Toustain House colors).

• Jorin Toustain, deceased. King of Dinasdale at the time of his death. Further enflamed the feud between House Maignart and House Toustain by smashing Daleraian forces in the Siege of the Wraith’s Tower, then slaying Lord Sigan Durville and his men before executing Daleraian captives. Slain in 1260 during a battle that would become known as The Fall of King Jorin.

House Saint-Clair are allies to House Toustain and the lords of Vor’shy. The city of Vor’shy is known for its entertainments: drinking and gambling halls, minstrels singing and playing in the streets, and its pleasure houses. The people of Vor’shy are jovial and are often hosted at the lord’s keep for food, wine, and music. Lord Mador of Vor’shy is known for never marrying, yet taking his four bastard children under his roof and giving them his name.
