“How do you want me,” she asks, looking me in the eyes with an intensity I know my own eyes match.

“I want you to let go, Baby. Ride me like you know how much you own me and my cock,” I reply hoarsely. She shivers on my cock as my words run through her and I swell from the feel of her excitement. “You’re so wet. After I fuck you, I am going to eat your pussy until you can’t take anymore.”

“Promise,” she pants with a wicked smile on her lips.

“Promise,” I grunt as she places her hands on my shoulders.

She starts to bounce on me with wild abandon. I cling to her trying to anchor myself to keep from losing it too soon. I want to enjoy this for as long as I can hold out. When she starts to rock her hips to meet my thrusting hips, I release a string of incoherent grunted curses.

“I love the way you feel inside me,” she cries out.

“I love you,” I rasp against her neck.

I nuzzle into her neck before dragging my tongue up to her face. I capture her lips and take over her mouth with a searing kiss. I capture all of her whimpers and moans.

I wrap both my arms around her back trapping her to my chest. Feeling her skin to skin is like having the confirmation I need that she is mine. Something snaps inside as my mind goes to the first night here.

She honestly thought I would leave here without her. I have wanted this woman before I even knew her. Before I knew what I needed, I wanted her. Now that I have her I don’t ever plan to let her go.

Nellie breaks our kiss and places her forehead on mine. In this moment, I feel as if an understanding flows between us. Without words, I tell her everything I am feeling. No matter what comes our way I have her. I will always be here for her.

I feel her starting to tighten around me, sucking my own release from me. She cups my face, not breaking eye contact and I swear it is as if I can hear her saying.
“I know.”
I bellow out her name as I pump my seed deep inside her. She calls out to me as she shakes and writhes in my arms.

I collapse back against the cool sheets pulling her with me to lie on my chest. I close my eyes as I try to catch my breath. After a few minutes, Nellie places a kiss to the center of my chest.

I look down at her and she gives me a shy smile. I push my fingers in her hair and massage her scalp as my mind fills with different thoughts again. I furrow my brows as I look into her deep light brown eyes.

“Have I led you to believe I’m not happy,” I inquire as her mother’s words come back to me.

Now her brows are furrowed. “No, why do you ask that,” she replies, but realization enters her eyes as soon as her words are out. She laughs and cups my face. “Oh Babe, Mom didn’t mean anything by that. She just…”

Her words cut off as she gets choked up. I wrap my arms tighter around her, wishing I had kept my mouth shut. “Listen, don’t worry about it,” I say softly.

She shakes her head. “There are things she wanted to do today. You know stuff she may not get …,” she breaks off and swallows, “giving me advise on how to keep my man happy, was one of those things,” she whispers sadly through the lump in her throat.

She places her head back on my chest and I stroke her back. I feel her sigh heavily and my heart aches. I roll us so that I am on top. I am still inside her, and getting hard at just the sight of her beautiful face.

This time, I make love to her, allowing her to forget for just a few hours. We don’t bring up what is going on outside this apartment. I worship her body and make good on my promise. By the time she has her final orgasm, she passes out from the force of it and from the exhaustion of the loving I have given her body.

Chapter Twenty Seven

Wyatt

I enter the Master suite of Steve and Nora’s home. My eyes adjust to the darkened room. It is raining outside the large window making the room seem dimmer. Nora is sitting on a window seat with a blanket draped over her frail body.

Steve had come to the apartment to let me know that Nora wanted to see me. Nellie had given me a nervous look, but I gave her a wink and a kiss to reassure her. Steve caught on to Nellie’s nervous energy and pulled her into a conversation so I could slip out to see her mom.

Nora turns away from staring out the window and looks at me. A small smile touches her lips. “Come have a seat,” she weakly points to the chair beside her.

I cross the room and take a seat. We fall into an amicable silence for a few moments. I know she has something she wants to say. I am just letting her gather the energy she needs to say it. Her visit with Nellie today was cut short when Nora said she needed to lie down for a bit. She told Nellie to spend the day with me. Nellie had been curled in my lap since.

It’s the fourth week that we have been here. I wish I could say that I have noticed the woman before me getting better, but I can’t. If anything that unwelcome smell seems to be clinging to her more. It sends a ping through my heart every time I notice it clinging to her skin and the air around her.

Moments pass and Nora sighs turning to me. Her chocolate brown eyes look tired. She reaches out and pushes a lock of hair from my forehead weakly.

“Wyatt, I’m tired. I have fought as long as I have because I wanted to make sure Nellie is happy. She has been so unhappy for so long. She’s my baby,” Nora’s breathing hitches.

“I thought I would be around to see her marry a nice boy and have a beautiful family. I wanted to be there to help her put her veil on,” she blinks and tears start to stain her cheeks. “I know I’m not going to get to do that, but I am happy. I have had the chance to see her truly fall in love.

“She is a special girl. I knew the moment they placed her in my arms that she was special. She thinks I don’t know, but that Barry boy took something from her. I waited for her to tell me what was really going on.

“I was afraid at first that she was broken beyond repair. Now I see the way you look at her and the way she looks at you. I can rest easy now. I just need you to promise me you will always protect her and be good to her. Don’t let her fall apart without me. I haven’t been able to be strong for her for a long time, she has been there for herself, but she will need you to be the one now,” Nora looks at me pleadingly through tear filled eyes.

I have grown to love this woman in the short time I have known her. She is so warm and soft spoken. I see where Nellie gets her sweetness and compassion from.

Losing her is going to hurt a lot of people. I am honored to say I will be one of them. Not honored to be hurt, but honored to have had the chance to meet such a wonderful woman.

This visit hasn’t gone anything like I thought it would. Nora turned out to be the total opposite of what I expected. I thought she was going to grill me and give me a hard time. I see now that she just wants the best for Nellie. Seeing how much I care for her daughter first hand has brought her a peace that I can see in her face.

I am choked up when I reach for Nora’s hand. “I promise you with everything I am, with every breath I take I will love and protect Nellie. I will be her rock through this and every other trial that meets us. Your daughter is everything I hadn’t even known I was praying for.

“I will never do anything that will hurt her. She is my complete world. You have my word you can rest peacefully knowing that I have her. I love her and I will always cherish her,” I vow.

Nora closes her eyes and nods. “I never thought I would be the one to bring my baby one of her greatest hurts. You’re a good man, Wyatt. Lanelle has done very well,” I smile at her use of Nellie’s full name. Nellie would hate that.

“Nora, I can see how tired you are, but I need you to hold on just a little longer. I swear it will be worth it for you and Nellie,” I plead.

Her eyes open once again and she gives me a teary smile. “You want me to hold on for the wedding,” she says softly. “She has her gown already, you know? She is going to make you such a beautiful bride.”

With a smile playing on my lips, I quirk a brow up at her. “You know what I have been planning? Does she know,” I ask, my words laced with worry.

Nora gives a light chuckle. “No, she doesn’t know. Rob’s wife, Faith, your mom, and I happen to be good friends. They called me the minute you called back home to start getting your plan in motion. They just didn’t have all the details back then,” she smiles. “I wanted to, at least, see Nellie in her gown. So I talked her into shopping for one last week.”

I nod in understanding and smile at the woman before me. “They will all be here day after tomorrow. I plan to propose tonight, if you will give me your official blessing,” I say nervously.

She laughs louder this time. “You planned an entire wedding already. I don’t think you need my blessing. You are determined to marry my daughter by any means necessary,” she swats my arm with her smile still in place.

“I had every intention of getting your blessing first. I just know it will mean the world for her to have you there. I need to make that happen for her,” I say, my words full of emotion.

Nora sighs. “The day after tomorrow, I can hold on for that. I will give it all the fight I have left. I have never seen her happier. You have kept a smile on her face even with everything else that is going on. You have my blessing, Wyatt Black.”

I lean toward her and kiss her wet cheek. Placing a hand over hers once again, I give it a gentle squeeze. “Thank you. That means so much to me. I know it will for Nellie as well.”

“Thank you, you have given me a gift that is priceless. Now go get your girl to say yes. We have a wedding to throw, can’t do that without a fiancée, now can we,” she chuckles.

“No ma’am we can’t,” I kiss her cheek again and turn to leave the room.

“Wyatt,” she calls. I turn to look at her. “Steve may not be her father, but he will always be there for her. Never let her forget that.”

“Yes, ma’am, I won’t.”

Chapter Twenty Eight

Nellie

I am soaking in a bath filled with roses and vanilla bubbles. I haven’t felt this relaxed since we arrived here in Seattle. I am still curious as to what my mom and Wyatt talked about earlier, but he is being tight lipped.

Once he returned and Steve went back to the house Wyatt just said Mom wanted us to spend the night relaxing. So he poured me a glass of wine, which I am still trying to figure out where it came from. As I sipped the wine in front of the glass fireplace, he disappeared into the bedroom.

When he returns a while later he had that sexy smile on his face that promised all kinds of bliss. Without a word he lifted me from my spot on the rug and carried me through the room to the bathroom. I looked around the bathroom at the lit candles and the rose petals floating in the bubbles. Placing me on my feet he undressed me and gently placed me into the bathtub.

“Thank you,” I whispered as my body sank into the water and started to relax.

He just kissed me on my forehead and turn to leave the room again. He returned with a fresh glass of wine and set up his iPod to allow soft music to drift through the bathroom. Between Wyatt’s pampering and the décor of the spacious bath, including a beautiful chandelier hanging the center, I really feel like a princess.

Steve outdid himself with this apartment. I have to remember to thank him. I know he did this all with me in mind. I sank further into the tub with thoughts of wanting to do something special for Mom and my stepdad.

I have been sitting here since, lost in thought. The sound of Wyatt moving around in other parts of the apartment is lulling me into a greater sense of peace, rather than being a disturbance. It is only when I hear his voice that I start to wonder what the heck he is up to out there.

I sit up and look around for a towel and see they are all gone. I frown knowing there were just a bunch of towels in here earlier. Just as I open my mouth to call for Wyatt he appears in the doorway with a nervous look on his face.

“Everything okay,” I ask.

“Yeah,” he simply smiles and moves towards me with a towel outstretched for me.

“I was looking for one of those,” I smile up at him and stand up from the tub.

I don’t miss the way his golden eyes heat as they travel the length of my body as the water cascades down my skin. He bites his lip, but wraps me in the towel lifting me from the tub and placing me on my feet, on the plush bath rug.

I wiggle my toes as I become nervous too. The nervous energy is rolling off of him. He doesn’t say a word as he dries my body, placing a kiss here and there before he wraps me in the towel once again.

He covers my hand in his large one as he leads me into the bedroom over to the foot of the bed. Where he sits, pulling me between his legs. Wyatt picks up a bottle of my lotion from the bed and pumps it into his hands.

Warming the lotion in his palms first, he starts to rub it into my neck and shoulder, before repeating the process on the other side and moving down my body to my stomach and legs.

“Turn around,” he says in a husky whisper.

I do as he asks and he drops a kiss first to my right cheek, then another to the other. I gasp, moan, and look over my shoulder when I feel his tongue move between my cheeks. I feel a spark of heat warm my belly. He just smiles up at me and places one more kiss to the center of the small of my back. He then continues to rub lotion on the rest of my body.

“Lift your arms,” he says into my ear, his breath warming my skin.

I do as he asks once again. He places a dress over my head and slides it down my body, resting his hands on my hips when he is finished. His lips caress the skin on my neck making a trail to my shoulder and back up to my ear.

“You know the first time I saw you at the airport I thought you looked familiar,” he starts to say in my ear. “I figured it out the night I helped you move into your apartment. It was when you removed your glasses to wipe the tears away as you laughed. You looked up at me with this smile and it threw me back in time.

“It was right before I left for the East coast. You were at the house with Noah and Bean in the backyard. I remember staring out of the sliding glass doors, watching you laugh and smile up at Noah. You weren’t wearing glasses and that smile.

“Noah had come into the house to get you guys something to drink or something. When I asked about you, he told me you were Bean’s other best friend. I asked him to introduce me, but he went on to tell me you were Bean’s age. Which at the time, you were only fifteen or so.

“I remember the feeling I had in my chest. I felt like I was looking at an angel, unattainable, just outside of my reach. I was so confused on how I could be so intrigued by a girl that was five years younger than me and one I never even met before. I just couldn’t get you out of my head for weeks. Once I got busy with school and things I pushed the thoughts to the back of my mind.

“At least until that night when it dawned on me that once again you were right before me, but you were unreachable again, and this time for a different reason. You only saw me for a reputation and a past,” he pauses turning me in his arms and locking eyes with me.

“Now I have you in my arms and I never want to let go. Your mother has given her blessing, which means the world to me. You know how much family means to me. You’re not just getting me, you are getting all the Blacks,” he pauses again and gives me a nervous smile. “Come.”

I follow him to the living room and there are candles everywhere. In front of the glass fireplace are roses arranged in a circle. Wyatt tugs me into the middle of the circle and kneels on one knee.

“My family is a tight circle. We live for each other. They have already invited you into that circle. Now I want to make it official. Lanelle Carla Bryant, will you marry me,” he asks with emotions clogging his throat.

I give him a teary-eyed smile and teasingly say, “I should say no just for you using my full name.”

“Is that a yes,” he swallows hard.

“I’m surprised you are asking and not telling,” I tease again.

He smirks and narrows his eyes at me. Tugging my hand in front of me he slips the large diamond princess cut ring on my finger. I look down at it in awe. The band ropes out from the center diamond into two bands encrusted with diamonds.

Wyatt lifts to his full height and cups my face. “You’re right,” he says with a mischievous smile. “It’s settled we are getting married this Saturday.”

I gasp. “What, are you serious,” I ask as my eyes go wide.

“Everyone will be here by then and you can wear that gown I heard about,” his smile broadens.

“I haven’t even said yes,” I laugh out.

He lowers his head and captures my lips. The kiss is filled with passion and heat. I feel like my lips are being seared right off my face. When he breaks the kiss, we are both breathing hard.

“Marry me, Nellie,” he grins at me with those golden eyes so alight with fire they seem to glow.

“Yes,” I reply breathlessly.

“That’s my Baby, I know a way I would love to celebrate.”
