She huffed and rolled her eyes. "Your boss!!! He's a fuck-able fucker but so fucking frustrating " We both looked at each other and burst out laughing. I had never heard anyone describe my Maxwell like that.

MY??

He wasn't mine.  Oh, how I wished he was. What was wrong with me? My  innocent boyfriend was at home and I was longing to be with someone else. I downed the wine.

"Bad day?"

"Bad couple of weeks" I snorted.

"Me too. If I had known how bloody difficult it was running your own business I would of said fuck off" She took a sip of her wine. "Right tell me?"

I poured myself another glass. "Tell you what?"

"What it's like working for that sex god" she gushed. "I met him once," she began. "You know I would  of allowed him to bang me in that dining hall. He is so fucking fit!!!"

I exhaled. More drink please. I felt jealous.  "Well, I guess I am happy with my Blakie!!" Great I was now using Veronicas words. Vile fucking Bitch. Now Amy’s!! I am not original.

"How could I forget" She waved her hands above her head. "True love" She placed her hands on the table and looked me directly in the eye.

Uh-oh I was in trouble.

Amy was the bestest friend I had ever had. She was there every time to wipe my tears away when something went. She knew me  like nobody else did. I know I had Dee Dee but Amy felt like my sister.

"Give it up!" She pouted her lips in away to say I know, I can read you and your lying!!!

"Give what up?"

"The secret she laughed and I felt the redness feel my face. "Ah-ha!!" Her perfect manicured nails pointed at me. "You blushed!! You have a secret???"  I shook my head and nervously took another sip of my wine. "For fuck sake Georgina Elizabeth Dawson!!!" She screeched. "I will torture you." She was deadly serious.

I knew I could trust Amy with my life. Actually telling another living soul about what I had been doing. It was just..... It made everything seem real. Tell her!!!  I downed the rest of my wine in the hope it would make me brave.

What if she was going to hate me?

Why would she?

I had to just get on with it. Maybe it would help. Maybe getting out in the open would give me some relief. Maybe I could stop living in my head.

Amy began to tap her nails on her table. She was getting annoyed at me. "Will you get on with IT!!!!!"

"You really want to know?"

"I asked therefore I want to know!!"

"You'll hate me!"

"I'll beat you if you don't just fucking tell me" she smirked back. I laughed. Oh what the hell. She wouldn't use it against me. She was my friend and it would do me good. I felt so alone at the moment. Sharing is caring.

"Right" I looked her directly in the eyes. I let out a breath. "I've been seeing someone else."

Her jaw almost hit the table. "Who?" she gushed.

I started to blink rapidly.

Tell her!!!

"Maxwell" I whispered.

She sat up bolt right in her chair. She smiled then she narrowed her eyes and then her mouth opened wide in shock. "OH MY GOD!!" she yelled.

"Amy!" I hissed. I started scanning the room to make sure no one was looking. Thank god, they weren't. I lowered my voice. "Plus, no one knows and you can't tell anyone. I'm not exactly seeing him anyway." I closed my eyes. When I opened them Amy was giving me the caring friend look. "It's just . . . ." I couldn't carry on. She knew enough now. She had got her gossip fix for one day.

"Since when?" she asked as she grabbed my glass and refilled it. "Here, you need this. You've gone really pale." I took the glass from her and downed it. The wine was beginning to make my head feel a little fuzzy. "I am not going to tell anyone. You can trust me babe."

"I know" I sighed.  I could trust her with anything.

"So . . ." She raised an eyebrow and her lips twisted. "When? Where? And How?"

"Amy," I began feeling hot and bothered. The thought of Maxwell filled my head. He was so desirable.  "Please I really don't want to talk about it. "

"You can't spill the goss and reply with no more. Georgina, this is really unlike you? I need to know." She lent forward and lowered her voice. "Is that fucker taking advantage of you?"

I looked up stunned. How could anyone think about Maxwell like that?

"No!!!! He is such a nice man. Takes his work really seriously." A little smile came to my lips.  His golden rule!!! Then the picture of him and Veronica wiped it away. "It's over now."

Amy took a sip of her wine. I could tell she was dying to ask more. "What's he like in the bedroom?" There it was. I laughed only Amy would want the dirty details. She wanted them and I would share.

"We have never had sex in a bed" I winked.

"Where have you done it then?" She looked surprised but deeply interested.

"His office and up against a wall" just telling someone made me feel wanton. I gave a sigh. I would never even experience sex in a bed with him.

"Dirty fucker!!!" she spat. "Well, Georgina Elizabeth Dawson you have truly shocked me." She held up her glass. "Cheers!!"

*  *  *

I woke up suddenly. I looked over at the clock 9.00 AM.

Shit!

I was late for work.

WAIT!!!

It was Saturday. I chuckled to myself. How stupid I could be? Blake must all ready be up. I got out of bed and grabbed my silk dressing gown.

Mmmmm something smelt good. Pancakes? Fresh coffee? My belly rumbled.

I left the bedroom and entered the living area. Just as I expected Blake was in his favourite place.

"Morning beautiful" he was glowing. "Happy birthday!!" He pointed over to the table. It was full of presents, cards and flowers.

"Blake it's my birthday tomorrow!"

"I know but I am working tomorrow." He looked at me like I was stupid.

I wish he didn't do that.

"So, WE are celebrating today. I have the whole day planned. Today my sexy girl you are Princess Georgina."

I clapped my hands in delight. He really was amazing. Maxwell came to mind. I wondered what he was doing? The present he had given me was still safe in my bag. I had taken it out and admire it. It was astounding. It was such a shame I would never get to wear it. I still didn't understand what the R meant and I also had told myself to give it back.

After talking to Amy I had made the resolution that Maxwell had to remain my boss. I had a boyfriend. I needed to be a 100 percent loyal to him.

Look what he's done for you!

My eyes dreamily returned to the table. He loved me and that was very clear to see. No one would make as much effort for me like he had. My own parents wouldn't go to this length for me.

"You aren't going to open anything?" Blake was behind me his arms moved around my waist. "Although the main present isn't here?"

I gave a girly giggle."The main?" I couldn't believe it. There was going to be more! I had never been this spoilt before. It wasn't even an important birthday.

Why was he doing this?

Why are you complaining?

True!! Very true.

"When do I get my main present?"

"Tonight!"

WOW, this was too good to be true.

I was tucking into my pancakes  they tasted lush. I had managed to open all the presents in record time. Every single one was amazing. I looked over at the No1 No.1 Jenny Packham Pale Peach prom dress. I had been admiring it on the internet for weeks. The skirt was all floaty with  a beautiful boob tube top with a single flower. Very Sarah Jessica Parker style. He had brought the shoes to match. Expensive underwear, my favourite perfume and a lush pair of pearl drop earrings.

"What are we doing after breakfast?" I asked pushing my plate away. I picked up my mug. There was nothing like the aroma of fresh coffee first thing in the morning.

How come this all felt like a dream? A perfect dream.

A massive smile appeared on his lips. "We are going on a private river cruise. The boat is going to crewed, there will be wine and all we have to do is sit back and relax."

"Wow" I gushed. I had never done that before. The whole time I had lived in Oxford I had never done anything like that. How romantic but I still wanted more. "And after?"

"I am going to wine and dine you" his voice sounded full of promise.

"So, hang over tomorrow?" I laughed. This day just sounded better by the minute. Oh, I really did have the most loving caring boyfriend in the whole entire world. Why hadn't I appreciated it before?

Because you were stupid!
The voice was right.

My head had been turned. I got dragged into a fantasy world of lust. This was real. What I felt for Blake was true love. No other man would ever treat me the way he did. Why had it taken me this long to realize this??

But Maxwell.......
Get over him please!!

It didn't matter how many times I begged myself  why wasn't it sinking into my thick skull? I didn't love Maxwell. Yet I just kept holding on to the thought that maybe he loved me. Why? His words filled my head '
You have cast some sort of spell over me and it is really fucking freaking me out.'

What was wrong with me?

"You okay?" Blake asked he looked wounded.

"I'm fine" I smiled. "The day sounds amazing. Just feeling a little sorry for myself" I lied. "You know, birthday tomorrow, no mum, no Dad, no sister."

His hand reached out and grabbed mine. "You have me. What else do you need?"

Exactly what else did I need . . . . . . . . .?

It was actually really hot for the end of April. The boat was wonderful. The boat was called Baccahalian. Blake explained it meant drunken merriment.  It was a dark green with a white canopy. There was champagne abroad the boat. It was obviously living up to its name. Me and Blake sat under the canopy drinking champagne, eating strawberries and enjoying the views.

I never really took in how beautiful Oxford was with its endless countryside. I felt like we had gone back in time. There was no cars, no sound of the city. People were just walking past with their dogs and other people of their boats. Children feeding ducks waving at us contently. I felt I was in a different world.

Blake gazed down at me. "Do you like?"

"I do like a lot" I beamed. I laid back and felt the warm rays from the sun on my skin. If I closed my eyes  I could be anywhere I wanted to be with whoever I wanted to be with.
