Sean saw Asbjorn’s eyes darken with desire. “What do you want to be in charge of, Asbjorn?”

The breathy, expectant tone in Sean’s voice said a lot about his hopes and desires. Asbjorn met his gaze with hungry eyes. Sean felt like he was going to melt into the sofa, but Asbjorn pulled him back to the present with a voice that suddenly sounded a bit gravelly.

“I may not be as experienced as I’d like to be, being with another guy,” Asbjorn said. “I did a lot of reading online, though. You know, those websites you suggested? There’s a ton of interesting information out there.”

Sean leaned back and licked his lips in anticipation. “Yes?”

“I did some shopping too. I will be in charge of your pleasure in the bedroom, Sunshine.”

Sean felt a fierce blush rise on his face as he averted his eyes. Then he nodded.

“Look at me.”

Sean met Asbjorn’s eyes again, noting the core of steel in his voice. There he sat, beautiful with his blond hair, crinkles around his narrowed eyes. Sean saw the crooked finger beckoning him to come closer, and he obeyed. They shifted, and Sean sat astride Asbjorn, facing him, wrapping his arms loosely around Asbjorn’s muscular neck.

“Sean, is there anything you
don’t
want to do?”

He thought. “Nothing too… too hard-core.”

“That still leaves us a lot of room.”

“I know.” Sean smiled. He expected Asbjorn to ask him if there was anything in particular he
did
want to try, but Asbjorn didn’t. He bit his lip. If Asbjorn was going to trust him with his manhunt, Sean had to at least make an effort to trust him with this.

“Let’s think about a safeword to use.”

Sean had also read about safewords. “We don’t really need one, do we?”

“Not really. I just thought it might make you feel more comfortable,” Asbjorn said.

“We are overthinking it,” Sean decided. “Just because there is all sorts of information available out there, doesn’t mean we have to use all of it. Just, let’s just do what feels good and see where it leads, okay?”

“Yes.”

Asbjorn’s simple assent released the nervous tension in Sean’s shoulders. He leaned his cheek into Asbjorn’s shoulder, buried his nose in the crook of Asbjorn’s warm neck.

It felt so good, being held, and finally being somewhere, with someone, where he could relax. He could just let go and allow Asbjorn to take charge, abdicating responsibility for what came next, and suddenly realized he didn’t trust Asbjorn only with his pleasure.

He also trusted him with his life.

T
HE
SHOWER
was barely large enough for the two of them. Warm water poured down their limbs as they pressed together in a long, luxurious kiss. Asbjorn stroked Sean’s arms, moved down his back, and caressed his waist, hips, buttocks. A lathered hand invaded the space between Sean’s cheeks.

“Bend over, Sean.”

Sean braced his arms against the wall, feeling the alien sensation of fingers stroking up and down his crack. He gasped. It felt alien, but in a good way. Asbjorn drank the water running down his spine in an upsweep, his stubble scratching Sean’s skin. And those fingers—going all the way under to that happy place, massaging, then sliding back. A slick digit pressed against his opening, and he heard himself gasp, half in pleasure and half in pain. He knew to relax—and he tried—as Asbjorn’s finger circled around, going a bit deeper.

“Still okay?” Asbjorn whispered by his ear.

“Yessss.” His moan was interrupted by a nibble on his neck as Asbjorn added another finger, slick with something smooth. Heat shot up his groin, and he felt pleasure pool below his waist. More… just a bit more… Sean tried to thrust back against Asbjorn’s fingers, stifling a moan when a strong hand grasped his hip and stopped him.

“We’re just getting clean for now.”

“I… ah… I kn-know! Ah!” Another attempt at pressing back was thwarted.

“Asbjorn!” Despite the needy and utterly undignified whine in Sean’s voice, Asbjorn’s fingers disappeared and the stream of water turned off.

Soon they were warm and dry.

“Sean. Kneel on the bed, like so.”

Sean’s knees were on the edge of the mattress with Asbjorn’s hands on his hips behind him. He felt Asbjorn place two pillows in front of him. One large hand slid down to anchor his hips, and the other pressed between his shoulder blades, encouraging him to bend over.

He leaned onto the pillows with his chest, with his bare ass up in the air. Never did he feel more exposed. The experience was oddly erotic, and he could feel his half-hard cock fill.

Asbjorn used his hands to move Sean’s knees farther apart.

Oh, God.

Strong thumbs caressed his glutes while fingers held his hips still. Then, something wet. Wet and warm. Sean tried to move with it, around it, but strong hands restrained him.

“Patience, Sean.” There was laughter in Asbjorn’s voice.

The tongue returned, and Sean panted, trying to stay still, feeling the hot, delicious sensation around his entrance and then against it.

“Asbjorn, I want you.” His breath was ragged and gasping.

“Hmmm.” The warm voice hummed behind him, and he heard a bottle snap open. Fingers invaded him once again—one, then two, reaching deep in and crooking gently.

“Ahhhh!” There was that spot he had read about, an extremely sensitive spot inside him, and Sean bucked against Asbjorn’s hand in a search for more. He felt kisses on the small of his back. The fullness was a new, yet welcome, sensation. When the fingers withdrew, Sean whimpered.

There was a rip of packaging material. Sean turned around to see Asbjorn roll a condom onto his impressive erection. “No glove, no love,” Sean intoned, smirking.

“If you’ll trust me with your life, I better take good care of you.”

A squirt-sound of lube—Sean watched with fascination as Asbjorn spread the slick material onto himself.

“Ready?” Asbjorn rasped.

“Yes. I want you inside me.”

“You sure?”

“Yeah, I’m fucking sure. Just do it!” Grim determination warred with curiosity and unslaked lust.

“Bossy, bossy.” Asbjorn stroked Sean’s tip with his slick hand.

“Just fuck me already! Please!” He flushed even harder as the words flew out of his mouth and his hips tilted up, wantonly presenting himself
to the stubborn, pig-headed, gorgeous, absolutely awesome man behind
him.

“Why, Sean?”

“Because I love you.”

R

LEFT
Asbjorn at hearing those words, and he growled and pressed his tip against Sean’s entrance. He grasped Sean’s hips and breached him, decisively and possessively claiming what was his in the slowest, gentlest way he could.

He pulled out slowly, all the way to his tip, and thrust back inside. He heard Sean moan.

Again, nice and slow.

And again.

“Ahhh!”

And that would be the sweet spot.

Asbjorn panted, pleased. He hit it again and again, building up an even, sensuous rhythm of thrusts against the countercurrent rocking of Sean’s hips. They were getting the hang of it. It might have been the first time for both of them, but Asbjorn’s engineering mind had researched and planned the best way to go about this “gay thing.” It felt so good, so amazingly good that he didn’t think he would last.

“A
SBJORN

I
wanna see your face.”

Sean felt Asbjorn stop, then gently pull out with a pop. Alas, the condom slipped off. Sean took another packet off the nightstand and tore it open, freeing the double-lubricated latex disc. Then he turned onto his back and slid down toward Asbjorn. “I’ve never put a condom on anyone else,” he said.

He felt Asbjorn’s heated gaze on him, blue eyes hazed with desire. With deliberate and painful slowness, he unrolled the condom onto Asbjorn’s dick.

“Sean. Get on with it, will ya?”

Sean smirked, trying to hurry, but Asbjorn was too erect to easily manipulate.

“You need some help there, Sunshine?”

“Me? Never.”

“Ahh… we’ll see about that.” Asbjorn rolled over, gazing at him with love and lust. Then they were joined again, and Sean felt the pleasure war with the pain. A few deep breaths later, heat pooled in his groin, and he knew it wouldn’t be long now. He could see Asbjorn’s face screwed up in concentration, holding back, lasting as long as he possibly could.

Asbjorn let go of Sean’s hips and grabbed his wrists instead. He pinned them down, the force of his hold accentuated by each thrust.

Sean wrapped his legs around his waist, his butt riding in the air.

“Mine.” Asbjorn growled.

“Yours.”

The word pushed Asbjorn over, and his pleasure crested as he crushed Sean beneath him in a final, paralyzing thrust.

Sean felt his swollen, sensitive erection skip against the hard abs above him. He felt adrift, suspended in a warm, womb-like space, and his vision darkened as waves of heat suffused his whole being. He cried out words he no longer understood and surrendered himself to a cresting wave of pleasure, to forgetting, to Asbjorn.

A
PHONE
ringing on his nightstand woke Asbjorn. Sean answered it.

“Sean. Where are you, Sean?”

Asbjorn heard the muffled words through the set and felt the way Sean sat up in alarm, shaking Asbjorn’s shoulder with his free hand. Their eyes met. Sean shook his head in frustration as he scrambled for Rachel’s recording device.

“What now?” Sean didn’t bother to hide his irritation.

Asbjorn curled around Sean’s tense back, offering quiet support. This was Sean’s game. He tamped down the sudden urge to rip the phone out of his lover’s hand and throw it against the wall. Jaw clenched, he listened to one end of the surreal conversation—a conversation that was now being recorded.

Chapter 14

as much as the confines of the small office allowed. Asbjorn’s butt was propped against a file cabinet credenza. He was tight, like a coiled spring. Detective Mark Falwell was a pool of calm in comparison as he put together the slide assembly of his 9mm Sig Sauer 230 semiautomatic. He clicked the mechanism back into place, locked it, and inspected the cleaned handgun once again before loading it with a full magazine.

“This is interesting.”

Sean looked at Dr. Adrian Rios, who was sitting behind his desk, propping his head and pressing his tired eyes into the palms of his hands. It had been a long day, and this special project of his had had to wait till after his regular working hours as a psychotherapist.

“So he sounds as concerned about you killing yourself, Sean, as about you testifying. Does he have a reason to think you would, in fact, kill yourself?”

Sean, who’d never have thought spending time at a police station would count as doing something “constructive,” nodded. He focused on Adrian, doing his best to tune out all the other guys who crammed inside Adrian’s office.

“Sure. I told him I’d kill myself and then come haunt him.”

“Do you intend to kill yourself?” Adrian’s voice was calm, free of judgment.

“No! Of course not. I want him to follow me around, though. I want him to meet me in person.”

Sean saw Asbjorn stir, the muscles of his chiseled jaw working hard in an effort to keep his mouth shut.

“So you’re the bait?” Mark asked, just for the record.

“Yeah. I’m the bait.”

They listened to all four recordings again.

“You sound so normal, talking to him like that, Sean. Like he’s a regular guy. I don’t know how you can stand it.” Asbjorn almost shivered.

“He’s doing a great job.” Mark nodded. “The sooner you can lure him out, the better.”

“Sean. Where are you, Sean?” Frank Pettel, aka Joe Green, was displeased.

“Now what?” Sean’s voice came across as sleepy even on the recording.

“You are not in your room.”

“What makes you think that?”

“I need to know you won’t kill yourself, Sean.”

There was a silent pause.

“I want you to forgive me and move on.”

Another pause.

“I will forgive you, Joe Green. There is something I must do first, though.”

“As long as it’s not testifying against me. So what do you have in mind?”

“I need to understand why you’d do such a thing. You’re obviously not a bad guy. You’re obviously pretty intelligent. Why… why would somebody like you need to break in and attack me? Why not just ask me out?”

A startled silence followed. “You’d go out with me?”

“Well, now I won’t—you’ve blown it. But had you asked me out before, I might have.”

“But… but… you would have?”

“I’d have at least given you a fair chance, Joe Green. But instead, you have to kick my door in and beat me up and do—”

“I didn’t rape you!” The scream almost overwhelmed the recording microphone.
