This
orgasm took her by surprise. She cried out, sat up, and knew she had to do
something wonderful in return for Bear. A man could say he was going to be
patient, but guys were different than women. In her past she’d acted more like
one of those guys and she knew what unmet needs were like to deal with.

“It’s
your turn for a treat,” she said.

He
stood. She was thinking about pulling down his zipper and giving him a blow job,
but she wanted him to be relaxed and comfortable before he enjoyed paradise.

“Lie
on the bed,” she said.

“Yes, ma’am.”

****

Lucky
for him Hannah’s bedhead had metal slats on it. It was something for him to
hold onto. She stripped him of his jeans and boxers and massaged his balls,
running her nails underneath them, making them tingle like never before. She
now cupped them, almost making him lose it there and then. Women usually
ignored his balls and he loved it when they were touched and caressed. He
groaned, sensing that his eyes were changing color and that if he didn’t
control himself he was going to shift right here on her bed.

What
an embarrassment that would be for him, and what a shock for her.

Focus, Bear.
Focus.

He
looked up at the ceiling as her the tip of her tongue merged with the end of
his shaft.

Bear
remembered the moment he’d first seen her pussy. It was true he saw them on a
daily basis, but this was different. This was sexual, this was Hannah, and hers
truly was a sight to behold. He hadn’t
bullshited
her
just to get into her panties. Her pussy lips were large and perfectly formed,
some cream had crept out of her opening and it was like looking at a
masterpiece.

Damn,
recalling the image of her pussy just about made him lose it again.

Her
mouth inched its way over his shaft some more and it was almost as if she was
swallowing him whole. Bear gripped the slates even tighter, quickly
experiencing the blow job of his life. He moved his legs, hoping he could hold
on, get her to give him the works before he gave in and found release. Should
he warn her when he was about to come? Some ladies preferred it that way.

His
body shook as she ran her tongue around the head of his cock, flicked
underneath it and he bucked just a little.

Don’t shift,
don’t come, don’t shift, and don’t come.

He
gripped the slates even tighter, feeling the metal bite into his hands.

God,
she was good at this. She hadn’t been kidding when she’d told him she’d had lots
of sexual experience. He was suddenly jealous of the other guys she’d been with.
Way before they’d even known one another existed, but he still wanted to punch
them all on the nose.

She
took him into her mouth again, sliding her lips up and down, up and down.

He
needed to shift, he needed to come.

What
happened if he did both?

Don’t panic. Don’t
over think it, Bear.

He’d
gripped the slates like they were going to disappear if he didn’t. He had to
find release or he would shift and ruin everything.

He
took a deep breath, giving in to her and then fireworks went off in the room.
He groaned like the Kodiak bear he was. Primal, guttural, and he hoped she
thought that was the sound he always made during sex.

Bear
lay weak, his hands still fixed on the slates that he now realized he’d ruined
and bent out of shape. He panted, trying to get his breath back. Sweet release
but the smell of his arousal mixing with hers and the mere memory of her pussy
made him want to be inside her. Her pussy had been tight and hot when he’d
finger fucked her. He’d wanted to slide his dick inside but had controlled
himself. Now he wanted it again and need was overpowering control.

He
had to cut their night short. Hopefully she’d understand. Once he left he was
going to drive to the lake, shift, and go for a run to get all the built up
sexual energy out of him.

He
sat up.

“I
have to go, but tomorrow I’m coming back to fix the damage I’ve done to your
bed. Tonight you’ve had it your way but tomorrow, well baby, I’m going to be
inside you and the whole of Kalispell and all the way up to the Canadian
borders
are
going to know you’ve come.”

Chapter Ten

Hannah
still had a smile on her face when she rang the doorbell at Lilly and
Christopher’s place, ready to collect Sam. She hadn’t been able to shake Bear’s
last words out of her head.

She’d found
humor in the fact that he’d bent the metal panels on her bedhead. Wow, that guy
was strong. She’d tried putting them back into place as soon as he’d gone, but
couldn’t budge them an inch.

The
cute Pomeranian, Barney, barked and through the frosted glass panel in the
door, Hannah saw a light go on and someone walking toward it.

Lilly
opened it with the dog by her heels. “Hi, Hannah, come in.”

She
stepped inside and bent down to stroke the dog.

“Has Sam been okay?”

“He’s
been great. He and Kaitlin get on so well together. They watched the movie with
Christopher and me. Then they put together a puzzle and talked Christopher into
ordering pizza which they just finished.”

This
all sounded so promising. Maybe Sam needed a younger buddy like Kaitlin and not
hanging around with kids his own age. She hadn’t thought about that.

“Come
on through.”

She
followed Lilly to the living room where Sam sat at a table with Kaitlin,
putting together a puzzle of what looked like kittens sitting in a basket.
Christopher sat watching TV.

“Hi,
Hannah, you and Bear have a good evening?” he asked.

Oh
he didn’t know how good it actually had been. “Yes, it was a lot of fun.”

“Momma,”
said Sam.

“Hi,
baby, you ready to head home?”

He
shook his head.
“Staying with Kat.”

“Honey,
you can’t. She has to go to bed. You do too.”

He
shook his head and folded his arms across his chest.

“How
about you come back tomorrow for the day and stay the night,” said Lilly. “Christopher
promised to build them a fort in the back yard.”

“Fort,
there,” said Sam, pointing to the window.

“Are
you sure?” asked Hannah.

“We’d
love to have him back and maybe you’d return the favor with Kaitlin one evening
so Christopher and I can go out for a meal and a movie.”

“Sure,
I’d be happy to do that.”

“Okay,
Sam, you’re coming back tomorrow, but we have to get home,” said Hannah.

“I’m
coming back?” he asked.

“Yes,
tomorrow.”

“It’s
going to be fun,” said Kaitlin.

Sam
finally stood and Lilly passed him his jacket which he didn’t bother to put on.

“Are
you going to be polite and walk our guest to the door?” asked Christopher.

Kaitlin
nodded.

“See
you tomorrow, Sam,” said Christopher, putting out his hand to him. Sam took it
and blinked. “You too,” said Christopher.

Kaitlin
skipped along the hallway with her mother as they followed her and Sam to the
door.

“Any
time after ten’s fine to bring Sam back,” said Lilly, opening the door.

“What
do you say, Sam?”

“Nighty
nite
.”

She
smiled because that’s what she’d taught him to say before she turned off the
lights each night.

“Sam’s
my bear,” said Kaitlin.

“Kaitlin
will you stop that,” said Lilly.

“Bear,
I’m like Bear,” said Sam.

Hannah
put her arm around his shoulder and ushered him to the car before he went into
his repetition mode again.

****

Bear
sensed that someone was in his apartment the moment he pulled into the parking
lot. It was his shifter instinct. A prickle along his spine told him danger was
ahead. He approached the door with caution. Unless someone had a weapon like a
gun, he knew he’d probably be able to tackle them, overpower them, and call the
police. He knew this was a relativity safe area to live, but there was always a
first time for crime.

Could
be someone who knew he was a doctor and thought maybe he had drugs on him or at
gun or knife point they’d take him to the hospital and make him hand over OxyContin
or morphine.

He
turned the key in the door, opening it enough to know that a female bear
shifter in the height of her mating cycle was inside.

Already in a heightened sexual state from his
evening with Hannah, his cock twitched. Her scent got stronger as he went
inside. He put his nose into the air, quickly figuring out that she was in his
bedroom.

Bear
rubbed his hand down the front of his jeans. Not that he was interested in mating
with her, but there wasn’t anything else he could do when a male got this close
to a female who was in her prime mating phase. An ancient old habit that
ensured their species didn’t die out. Well, that was the case on their old
planet, but here on Earth couplings didn’t always result in a pregnancy.

Thinking
about turning and going back out again, he knew that wouldn’t help the
situation. She’d be here when he got back and he was tired and he wanted to go
to bed. The only female he wanted in his bed was Hannah. Whoever this shifter
was he had to get rid of her. Maybe physically throw her out if need be.

He
walked down the hallway. The bedroom door was closed. He turned the knob,
pushing it open and felt his cock brush against his boxers due to the overwhelming
scent.

He’d
never seen her before. She lay naked on his bed, her legs spread wide, allowing
the scent to dispel further into the air. She knew exactly what she was doing
to him.

Bear
switched on the light, giving him a clearer view of her and her pussy.

“Hi, Dr. McWilliams.
I’m in dire
need of a physical, a pelvic examine especially,” she said.

“Then
you need to make an appointment at my outpatient clinic.”

She
rubbed her hand down over her pussy. “Come on, Doctor, you know why I’m here. You
can smell me. I’ve picked you to father my baby. I know you’re very
interested.” She’d glanced at the bulge in his jeans.

“Any
guy would have the same reaction now so it means nothing. I’m not interested in
you or fathering your baby, so I suggest you get dressed and leave. I won’t
call the police and tell them you broke in here.”

“You’d
turn a fellow shifter into the police?” She slid off the bed and walked toward
him. He tried not to take in her scent.

“You’re
breaking the law. We follow the laws of the humans not shifters,” he said.

“You’ve
been spending too much time around the other sort. It’s exactly what Liam’s
been warning all of us about.”

She
put her nose in the air and in his direction and sniffed. “You’ve been with a
human. Her stink’s all over you. That’s why you’re fighting your instinct to
fuck me. She lifted his hand and put it under her nose. “You’ve been playing
with human pussy tonight.”

Bear
pulled it away from her. He didn’t want to even touch her. “Just get your
clothes and leave.”

“You’ll
be sorry.” She walked back to the bed and grabbed her clothes. “You’ll all be
sorry when Liam takes over. You’re either with the humans or you’re with us.
You can’t have friends in both camps.”

“I’m
going to count to ten,” said Bear.

“I’m
leaving. I wouldn’t want my offspring fathered by a lover of humans, because
you’re all doomed.”

He
took a deep breath, biting his tongue, trying not to say something he might
regret, something she might go back and tell Liam. Aiden had been right. The
guy was causing trouble and clearly stirring up hatred for the humans.

Bear
walked over to his bed, sat down, and realized her scent had permeated the
quilt. He’d never be able to sleep with that under his nose. He was going to
dump everything into the washing machine and go out for a long run.

The
sound of pots being moved around in the kitchen woke Hannah with a start. At
first she thought she might be dreaming, but when she heard it again and knew
she was wide awake and that it was real.

Sam
wasn’t usually up this early and no one else had a key to the apartment. She
sat on the side of the bed, wondering if someone had broken in, but at 7 a.m.
she doubted they’d choose this time of the day. She tiptoed outside the
bedroom, carrying her cell phone just in case she had to call the police.

Hannah
rounded the corner to the kitchen, stopping in her tracks when she saw Sam with
a saucepan and some of their plates and mugs and flatware.

“Sam,
what are you doing?”

“I
need them for Kaitlin and me.”

“Her
parents have plates and forks.”

“For our fort.”

She
smiled. She’d seen a huge improvement in him since he’d been around Bear and
Kaitlin.

“Let
me give you some of the older things we have and not our good pans, okay?”

He
nodded. Hannah walked over to the cupboard by the sink and pulled out two of
her older saucepans that she was thinking of donating to Goodwill anyway.

“So
you like being with Kaitlin?”

“I’m
her bear, like Bear’s your bear.”

She
didn’t quite know what he was talking about, but he was obviously happy so she
was too.

“You
want to take some snacks with you so you can eat them in the fort?”

He
nodded.
“For
Christfer
.”

He
wasn’t quite able to say Christopher, but she knew who he meant.
That the poor guy had somehow gotten talked into building them a
fort today.

“You
want some breakfast seeing that we’re both wide awake?”

“Bacon with cheesy eggs.”

“Coming right up.”

He
slid into the chair and straightened up each piece of the flatware.

“Are
you going to miss me today and tonight? We’ve never been apart.”

“I
call you.”

“Yep,
you can call me and if you change your mind about sleeping over you can tell
Lilly or Christopher and I can come get you.”

He
nodded. She was pretty sure she was going to miss him more than he would her.
And boy did that make her think about the future when maybe she’d be an old
lady living all by herself.

****

Bear
put his nose to the flowers as he pushed open the door of the Starlight Café.
He’d had plans to take her out to eat some place that wasn’t her own
establishment, followed by a walk by the lake, but one of her workers had
gotten sick at the last minute and she had to cover.

When
he got inside she was talking to a couple who sat at a table by the window. She
glanced over at him and smiled.

Wow,
she literally took his breath away tonight. She’d tied her hair up, the bangs
swinging freely across her forehead.

The
sleeves of the floral dress she wore exaggerated her curves. The sandals on her
feet showed her pretty toes with their bright pink polish. He wanted to kiss
each one of them. He’d put that on the list of things to do later.

Hannah
walked over to him.

“These
are for you,” he said, offering her the flowers.

She
took them and put them under her nose.

“They’re
beautiful thank you. You want something to eat?”

“I
do, but I can go into the kitchen to grab something if you want.”

“We’ve
room to spare out here and I’ll join you when I have some time.”

“Okay,
but nothing special on my count. A sandwich is fine.”

“Sit
over there and I’ll go get something for you.”

Bear
sat down and looked out of the window. It had started to rain when he’d left
his place and now the rain was falling at a heavier pace, droplets making their
way down the window.

“Salmon
sandwich with house fries,” said Hannah, putting a plate in front of him.

“Wow,
this looks delicious. It’s a lot of food.”

“Just
enjoy it and I’ll join you in a bit.”

One of the perks of dating a
restauranteur.
Is that what they were doing? He hoped so.

He
took a bite and then as he chewed, he also did some people watching. Owning a
restaurant was a lot like being a doctor, you got to meet a lot of people. It
was one of the things he liked about working in medicine.
So
many interesting people and their stories to hear.

Hannah
headed his way with a plate of salad and some strips of salmon nestled upon it.
She pulled up a chair by him and began eating.

“Sam
doing okay today?” he asked.

“I
did phone to check with Lilly that he’s behaving himself and not driving them
crazy, but it seems he’s doing just fine. He and Kaitlin were moving into the
fort Christopher constructed for them and were going to eat supper in there.
And it sounded like he wants to bring Barney home with him.”
