“Well,
it looks like you've had quite the night. Wish I could have been here
to see it.” He took Morgan's hand and guided her to the couch.
She waited for him to sit, then she sat right across his lap. They
were past the introductory phase, at least in Morgan's drunken state,
she assumed so.

“I
thought you weren't coming back tonight?” He wrapped one arm
around her back, mostly to make sure she didn't fall backwards, then
draped the other one over the back of the couch.

“I
wasn't going to...but I didn't want to leave you alone that long.”
Morgan smiled, understanding what he'd meant. She reached forward and
grabbed the bottle of tequila Evita had quickly hid under the table
and handed it to Diego.

“Have
a drink,” she told him as she twisted off the lid. He thought
about it for a moment. Drinking hadn't been on his agenda for the
night, but it had also been quite a while since he'd tapped into his
extensive beverage collection. He took the bottle, brushing Morgan's
fingers slightly as he did so, then brought it to his lips. Morgan
smiled, then put a finger under the bottle and tipped it upward.

“Easy,”
he told her, laughing at her enthusiasm. “I'm not sure I
should,” he reconsidered and brought the bottle back down.
Drinking was another item on the list of things he hadn't done in
over a year. His father had been an alcoholic, information that Tomas
had kept from Morgan. It was the reason his father spent most of his
life with a scowl on his face, but thankfully, Diego hadn't picked up
all
of his fathers habits. It would have also been something
the two of them had in common, except Morgan knew, she would never be
anything like her own mother.

Morgan
assumed his apprehension toward the drink went along with his new
lifestyle, all the more reason to get him to take just one sip. “Just
one?” She tilted the bottle up again, but he brought it down
and shook his head.

“I
really....fuck it,” he finally agreed, then tilted the bottle
to the sky. There was no resisting the incredible power a woman's boo
boo lip had on a man and that was just another example. “Damn,
that's good.”

Morgan
took it easy while Diego caught up, not that his three or four shots
could compare to what she had already consumed. “So, tell me
all about.... you.” She squirmed a bit to find a better
position on his lap, and he put his hand under her ass as they moved
closer to the end of the couch. “Feel free to keep your hand
there.” Morgan smiled and wiggled her eyebrows at the man,
which made him laugh out loud.

“You're
a handful, Morgan Holland.” He squeezed her ass and she
enjoyed the double meaning of his words. “But, I'd rather hear
more about you.” She heard the sincerity in his voice, even
though he was still smiling when he spoke. It was true, the man had
been intrigued by Morgan since they worked out their initial issues,
and he couldn't wait until they had the time to talk.

“Hmm...,”
she tapped her chin as she thought about anything interesting to
tell the man about herself, “well... I'm a coffee addict,
blueberry muffin connoisseur..., she flipped her hair from her
shoulder playfully as she spoke of the muffins, “and I'm
seriously looking forward to having sex with you.” She looked
him right in the eye, at least as much as she could considering her
intoxicated state, and Diego's mouth fell open as he met her gaze.
It wasn't that the man wasn't used to sex, he was even used to
forward women, but it wasn't exactly what he had expected to hear
from Morgan right then.

“That's
good to know.” He smiled at Morgan and leaned forward, then
softly pressed his lips to hers. She giggled at how gentle he was,
almost as if she were fragile, and he squeezed her ass again. “My
kisses are funny, is that it?” Another ass squeeze, another
laughing fit from the girl, and his second kiss came down hard
against her mouth. That time, she wrapped her arms around his neck
and happily kissed him in return.

“Mmm....
much better.” Her eyes were still closed when she leaned her
head against his chest. “Your heart is beating so fast.”
He smiled at her slurred words, then she felt his chin against the
side of her head as he nodded. He told her that it was only natural,
considering he had a beautiful woman on his lap, kissing him the way
she had.

Diego
moved his hand from her bottom, and placed it at her lower back. He
held Morgan tightly against him as her words played over in his mind.
“Can't wait, huh?” The man was more than ready to take
her up on the forward offer, and he bent down for another kiss.
“Morgan?” Her eyes were still closed, but she no longer
looked like a girl enjoying a personal moment. “Ah, right..
can't wait.” His voice no longer held the humor it had just
seconds before, but he understood.

She
had fallen asleep to the rhythm of his heart, wrapped in his arms.
“Glad I canceled that meeting,” he whispered to himself.
He was supposed to meet with a few clients in the morning, but he
decided to put it off so he could spend time with her. He also hoped
he could talk her into going to the annual street carnival, but that
question would have to wait as well. “Let's get you in bed,”
he whispered to Sleeping Beauty, then stood, holding her between his
arms.

After
he had her tucked into his bed, he found himself back in the living
room. Just him and the bottle of tequila. Just as he brought the
harsh drink to his lips, he heard giggles coming from his bedroom and
smiled to himself. A girl who giggles in her sleep...now that's
happy. He shook his head in disbelief, then took a drink.

She
had even made Evita laugh.
That
was more powerful than the
tequila. “Evita,” he snorted and took another drink. That
woman was more stubborn than a bull, but she usually worked like one
too. He didn't know what he'd do without her, so he certainly
couldn't be upset that she'd taken the evening to enjoy herself. In
fact, he couldn't remember the last time Evita had even left his
property, aside from heading to the store or running other errands.
She never did anything...fun. It was more than nice to see her laugh
and even nicer to know that it was Morgan who'd brought that
happiness to her.

Once
he'd drank a few more large gulps and it had time to kick in, Diego
didn't realize how drunk he'd become, but he did know he didn't want
to drink alone. He thought about waking Morgan up, but if she had
passed out so easily before, she was in no position to sit up with
him. It was only ten o'clock, surely Tomas would be willing to drink
with him.

Diego
staggered to his bar downstairs and picked up another bottle of
tequila, then made his way back upstairs and out the door. Once
outside, he was greeted by the big Shepherd. “Hola,” he
told the dog, then crouched to his knees to give the furry beast
some attention. He told the dog that it wasn't so bad, as long as it
was outside, and it licked him in response. He gave it one last pat
on the head, then continued across the property toward Tomas' home.
He should have noticed all of the lights were off, but he didn't and
knocked anyway. Loudly.

“Ya
voy, ya voy!” Tomas yelled that he was coming, hoping to make
the banging on his door come to an end. He'd been in a deep alcohol
induced sleep and the sound of Diego's banging took a minute to
determine whether it was only his head or for real, but when it
wouldn't stop, he was forced to get up.

When
Tomas answered the door, Diego began to laugh as it all became clear.
Obviously, his driver had joined in on the ladies' fun. He asked to
come in and Tomas stepped out of the way, then pointed toward the
couch with his outstretched arm. He didn't want to drink anymore, but
the two did have a very enjoyable talk. When Diego had spoken about
drinking with Morgan and Evita, Tomas' response had been that he was
grateful to have finally had the opportunity to have a drink with
Evita.

That
part also became clear to Diego. Why hadn't he ever noticed the
attraction between the two of them? As he looked back, it was so
obvious. Morgan must have noticed. That's why she wanted to drink
with the both of them. Diego had even laughed when Tomas mentioned
something about Morgan getting her own way because he knew his driver
would never had made the move on his own.

Over
the next hour, it became even more clear, the way Tomas' lit up when
he talked about her. It was sweet and surprisingly, Diego didn't even
mind if the two wanted to have a relationship. In fact, he planned on
taking the two of them to the carnival. Of course, Tomas had to drive
and Evita, well, perhaps Morgan needed someone to hold her purse...in
the car. They were going, whether they wanted to or not.

Chapter
Seven

The
next morning, Diego woke up to a nice kiss. To the floor. Tomas'
floor. “Mierda!” he cursed as he picked himself off of
the ground. It didn't take him long to realize where he was and it
took him even less time to get called out by Tomas. His driver
laughed loudly at the sight of his boss, then he questioned him about
his head. Diego responded, telling him that it 'fucking hurt', but
he'd be alright. He then remembered Morgan. She'd drank a lot too and
he had to go check on her. He gave Tomas a quick goodbye and went
outside. The sunlight was blinding, making his head pound even
harder, so he made the normal walk from Tomas' to his in half the
time.

When
he got to his bedroom though, his worries were put to rest because
the young woman was sitting up in bed. “If we were married,
you'd be in the dog house for staying out drinking all night.”
Morgan's humor came through when she spoke, even though her head only
felt slightly better than his. Diego laughed, then put his hand to
his forehead to stop the pounding.

“If
we were married, I'd blame you for starting this whole thing.”
He tried not to laugh as he joked back, but failed miserably. “I'll
give you credit for one thing...,” Diego joined her in bed,
and settled back on his pillow slowly, “you reminded me why I
don't drink tequila.”
Even before I quit drinking,
he
thought to himself. Morgan leaned back as well, and grabbed her
pillow from under her head, which she used to whack the man in the
face with.

“Quit
being a baby, you had fun, right?” He moaned when she hit him
with the pillow, and she did the same when she jammed it back under
her head. At that moment, a very disheveled Evita walked through the
open door of the bedroom. She was carrying a tray with coffee,
toast, and four white pills.

They
both thanked her for the tray that she put on the foot of the bed,
then Evita walked out slowly and raised her hand in a simple wave
before she turned in the hallway.

Neither
of them wanted the toast, but the coffee and pain killers were very
much appreciated. Diego finished his cup first, and waited until
Morgan had finished hers as well. “Come here, lay with me.”
He wasn't ready to get up, coffee or not, and Morgan couldn't resist
a morning cuddle with her client.

“I'll
warn you, I can drink coffee before bed and still sleep like a baby,
so there's a good chance that if I lay down again.....I'll....go
back... to....Diego?” She looked at the man before resting her
head on his chest, and he was already sound asleep. “I guess
you can sleep after coffee too.” She watched him for a few
moments, then found her spot next to him.

Evita's
quiet voice pulled Morgan from her afternoon sleep, and that was
followed by hot breath on her cheek. “Evita!” She
couldn't figure out why the housekeeper was inches from her head,
saying things that Morgan couldn't understand. “Seriously,
you're breathing all over me.” She moved the mass of hair from
her face, and looked into the Shepard's eyes. “Oh, it's
you.... ya big trouble maker. Oh! You!” She sat up quickly
and reached for the dog, the realization that he was in the room with
Diego had put her into motion. Thankfully, Evita already saw that
her boss was up and out of the bed, and she put her hand on Morgan's
arm, then pointed beside her. The young girl was relieved, and fell
back on her pillow. Evita then pointed toward the bathroom door,
then put her finger over her lips for Morgan to keep quiet. She
nodded in response, then smiled at the woman as she hauled the dog
out of the bedroom.

Morgan
stretched out, pointing her toes as far as she could, then sat up and
stretched the remaining muscles in her hungover body. She noticed
Diego's watch on the nightstand, and grabbed it for a quick look. It
was almost three in the afternoon, and she jumped out of bed as if
she were running late for school.
