She
took a quick peek, just to make sure, and once she saw the dark
haired Scot on the other side, Morgan rested her head against the
door for several seconds to get herself prepared.
What will he
want me to do now? Call every single guy and tell them off in front
of him?
She finally opened the door, ready for round two of
their prior argument.

“I'm
sorry.” He spoke the words softly as he walked in, leaving a
silent Morgan to close the door behind him. When he stopped in the
middle of the room and turned to face her, Morgan could see that the
last few hours had taken their toll on the large man. “I don't
know what's wrong with me...I'm jealous, and angry....and this wasn't
how I wanted things to be.” He stopped speaking and ran his
hand through his hair, letting out a sigh of defeat that brought
Morgan closer. She reached up and took his hand, stopping him from
the abuse that he was putting his thick hair through.

“Fin,
I know.” She closed her eyes, trying to stop the images that
were flooding her mind. “I get it...if you slept with Angela,
my friend from Hawaii, it would....god...it would suck!” She
took one step closer and wrapped her arms around his waist, then put
her cheek against his warm chest. “I'm sorry too.” She
also put her hands together between them as she worked the clasp
loose on the bracelet. “I won't wear it when I'm with you.”
He heard the metal clink against the top of the dresser, and knew
that she had taken it off.

Morgan's
apology took him by surprise, he didn't hold her responsible for
their argument, and the man felt even worse for making her feel
guilty. “Morgan, I know what ye do, love. I have no right to
be angry with ye, not at all. I promise ye, I'll not to do it
again.” His large hands surrounded her face as he brought her
head up to meet his gaze. “I mean it, I won't do it again.”
He kissed her gently before allowing her to cuddle herself against
his body again.

Their
situation was much larger than the fact that Sean was one of her
clients, and even more than her feelings for Tanner, and they both
knew it. But for right then, being together was enough, and they
silently agreed to bury their problems temporarily, and try to enjoy
the rest of their weekend together.

After
several quiet moments, Morgan pulled herself from the chest that she
loved so much, and walked backwards while pulling her with him.
“Let's go to sleep...and let's make sure that you never drink
beer again.” She smiled at the big man before tugging his arm
and forcing him to fall on the bed next to her. His laughter was
something that she was hoping for, and she wasn't disappointed. “Get
in here.” She tucked the blankets around both of them, still
smiling as she settled back onto his chest for the night. “Night,
Fin.”

A
very drunk Scot answered her. “Sleep well, love.” The
kiss on her forehead was the last movement he made, then his soft
snore lulled her to sleep.

Chapter
Three

Morgan's
dream, sunbathing next to the one and only, Finlay Campbell, came to
an end when she heard the hotel room door shut The morning sun
warmed her face as it found her through the still open balcony doors,
and prompted the dream that she wished she could go back to. She
wasn't ready to get up, and she wasn't ready for whatever Jake was
going to put her through. “It's too early...come back to bed.”
Her sleepy demand was muffled as she pulled the blanket over her
head.

“I
didn't mean to wake ye, go back to sleep.” Fin's deep voice
brought her eyes wide open under the soft floral barrier.

“Fin?”
It wasn't Jake, and she forced her brain to work over time to figure
out where she was, and who she was with. One thing she knew, going
back to sleep wasn't an option. It was one thing for Jake to wake her
up to go running at o'dark-thirty, but waking up to Finlay was a
whole other story. Morgan stretched out underneath the blanket, then
flipped it off her body and sat up to give her arms another stretch.

“Ye
don't need to get up,” Finlay told her again and walked over to
the side of the bed.

“Fin,
I only have two more days with you, I don't want to miss a moment.”
Morgan meant her words. She didn't know how long it would be that she
would see the Scot again.

He
didn't answer her, but the sound of percolating coffee got her
attention. “I thought there wasn't any coffee in there...”
Morgan remembered the day before she had wanted coffee, but the bags
hadn't been there, and she knew room service hadn't made a trip to
the room.

“Aye,
there wasn't. I went doonstairs and picked up a bit.” Finlay
produced at least a dozen bags of coffee, which made Morgan laugh.
She told him she didn't need
that
much, which summoned a roll
of the eyes from the handsome Scot. He remembered that she had a hard
time functioning in the morning without her caffeine, and Morgan was
relieved that he had remembered. She also thought it was sweet, and
quite the change of pace from having to make her own coffee when Jake
had been around.

“Drink
up then, if you're not goin' back to sleep then we're going oot.”
Finlay ordered, handing her a cup. Morgan took a sip, then asked
where they were going. So much for the theory of not running around
in the morning. “Shopping.”

Oh,
she could deal with shopping. As long as it wasn't for groceries.
Those kinds of places made her break out in cold sweats and hives.
Well, maybe I'm being a bit dramatic. Shopping is good.
She
took another drink of her coffee and nodded. He jumped in the shower
first while she finished her first, and second cup of coffee, then it
was her turn.

Another
hour and another cup later, they were both ready to leave. Before
they walked out the door, Finlay turned around and placed his phone
on the nightstand. “No business while I'm with ye, lass,”
he told her as he met her at the door again. Morgan smiled and did
the same, leaving her phone behind in the room. It was sweet of
Finlay and the girl knew that it was a large leap from his usual
self.

“So
where we goin'? Morgan nearly skipped down the hallway toward the
elevator.

How much I have missed that, doll.
Finlay watched the girl.
That
was the carefree girl he knew. He hadn't planned on
seeing her, but the fact that everything had fallen into place and
the perfect timing made him feel like the happiest man in the world.
He was also happy that Morgan had forgiven him.

“Shopping.”
He followed her into the elevator and laughed at the cross-armed
Morgan. “I'm going to find you a wee charm to add on that
bracelet.”

Morgan
sighed and let her back fall against the wall of the elevator. “Fin,
it doesn't work like that, it suppo...”

“I
don't know how it's supposed to work, and I can't be bothered to
care. I'm getting a charmy thing.”

The
girl sighed again. She wasn't going to win and she felt awful trying
to tell him that it was supposed to be a special thing. The guys
always wanted to add their piece to the bracelet, seemingly only for
the sake of putting the others to shame. She didn't care if Finlay
got her a plastic charm or the Crown Jewel, but just going out and
buying one wasn't ever going to be special.
Diversion. I'm good
with diversions.
They stepped off the elevator and Morgan thought
about the first distraction she'd throw at the man.

Before
she had a chance to tell him, Finlay told her that he'd be right back
and she watched him disappear toward the restaurant and her hopes
came true when he returned with a breakfast gift, carefully wrapped
in napkins.

“Oh,
I love you!” Morgan took the muffin from his hands and lifted
the corner to reveal her prize. The first berry was plucked out
before they reached the front doors of the hotel.

“Me
or the muffin?” Morgan nearly spit out her bite when Finlay
asked the question. He had a smirk on his face when she looked at
him, but she wasn't ready to answer that question. Did she love
Finlay?
I think so. No, I do.
She didn't know what to say. Of
course, she had fallen madly in love with the man, but just as she
had told Tanner, it didn't need to be said. Morgan dug another berry
out of her muffin, deep in thought. Then another.

“Lass,
don't have a conniption.” Finlay wrapped his arm around the
girl. “You're killing that muffin.”

Morgan
laughed nervously, but was thankful she was off the hook. “The
muffin,” she finally answered.

“Aye,
is that it?” Finlay wrapped his arm more tightly around the
girl as they walked down the sidewalk.

“Yep!”
She looked up at the tall man with a big smile. Finlay shook his head
back and forth. He knew what was coming. “Yes, I wuv you wittle
muffin. Who'z the cutest muffin?” They both laughed loudly and
Finlay dropped the topic. He could agree, it wasn't the time, nor the
place. The only thing on the agenda for the day was getting a charm
for her bracelet. The next time she saw Sean,
hopefully never
,
he would see it. It was more than that, but it was definitely one of
the biggest reasons.

Morgan
looked up from her muffin and tried to make her brain produce
something, anything.
Think fast, think fast.
“Can I get
another coffee?”
Damn, that was stupid.

“Ye
really want another one?” He looked at her and she nodded with
a wide smile. “Awrite then,” he sighed. He had no idea
about her game of distractions yet, so a coffee couldn't hurt. Morgan
told him she saw one about a block back from where they had come from
so they turned around and headed that way.

After
they ordered her vanilla-caramel cappuccino, Finlay tried to get her
to walk and drink, but of course, Morgan told him that she preferred
that they sit down. It bought herself another half an hour of time,
but it was still early and she wondered if she'd be able to keep it
up for the whole day. When they walked back outside, it was just her
luck that a cab was waiting. It wasn't for them, but a bit of
persuasion from Fin's wallet, the driver made an exception and took
them in.

“To
the best jewelry store in toon.” Finlay ordered The cab driver
looked back to the man who had just referred to the city of Miami as
'toon'.

“Are
you Irish?” The driver asked.

“Irish?
Do I soond Irish to ye, mate?” He said it in a serious voice
that anyone but Morgan would have found intimidating. The guy looked
scared, as if he had just pissed off the wrong person and he'd be
found dead in an alleyway in the morning. “I'm just fookin'
with ye. I'm Scottish, lad. Now on tae the shoap, will ye now?”

Finlay
and Morgan burst out in laughter and after a few moments, the young
driver joined in on the laughter and nodded. He told them that he
knew just the place. Not only was it really the best place in the
city for fine jewelry, but it was also on the complete opposite side
of Miami, which was sure to rack up a nice toll on the meter.

No,
no, no...I can't let him take us there. Then I won't have a way out.
Hungry! I'm hungry. Eh...
Morgan rubbed her belly. She was
actually full from the large muffin, but delaying the trip for a
lunch stop would have to do. “Fin,” Morgan leaned into
the handsome man. “I'm hungry. Can we get lunch first?”
Finlay looked at her with narrowed eyes. He was on to her.

“Morgan?”

“Yes?”
She smiled innocently, hoping it would work.

“I
know what ye are doing. Let's just get you a charm and ye can eat all
ye want.”

“I
don't know what you're talking about,” Morgan spoke in a voice
that was higher than her own. “I'm hungry, Fin. Do you want me
to die? Just wither away into nothing? Look at me, I'm just skin and
bones and I'm going to die. All I ever wanted was a burger and you
hate me and you want me to starve to de...” Fin put his hand
over her mouth and shook his head. He told the cab driver the change
in plans and they stopped at a burger place. The girl forced herself
to down half of the burger and could barely finish a third of her
soda. At least it was another hour of time bought..
Whew. He might
have to roll me down the street, but if I can keep this up, it'll be
dark in no time.
