Deshad took his rightful place beside the Prince as his doppelganger moved away. The Prince turned to Garrett as they made their way to a limo that would take them the rest of the way to the entrance. "How are things?” The Prince asked Garrett still concerned of the arrogant Americans aptitude for impudence. Garrett displayed a face of pride and confidence. "All is going well, we began broadcasting yesterday." The Prince was pleased. "Good, is the meeting scheduled?"

Garrett nodded. "Yes my lord, for noon tomorrow." Again the Prince was pleased and turned his attention to look out the window. "Good, let's see if this base you keep talking about is as good as you say it is."

Garrett winked at Deshad who had already seen the vastness of Mt.Weather. After exiting the limo and passing various security points there was a large elevator. As one of the escorts pressed the down button Garrett looked to the Prince. "Get ready for a magnificent sight."

The Prince ginned." I've seen underground bases before Garrett I doubt this one will be that astonishing." The elevator doors opened to a walkway that looked upon a vast underground city. Close to four miles long and at least a half a mile deep. Mt Weather looked like a scene from a science fiction novel. Buildings towered all around, people traveled on a monorail system that went throughout the city and the most interesting feature was a building that modeled almost exactly like the white house on a slightly smaller scale. Everyone who stepped off the elevator marveled at the sight, even those who had seen it before. The Prince gazed upon the cities splendor and said to his number one lieutenant. "I stand corrected."

Reyes and his men were moving by day break following the creek north. After a number of miles they thought they might have lost the trail until they saw a small beach with tire marks going into a trail and back towards the interstate. After an hour of not so easy going they came out of the trees about twelve miles north of their previous position it was easy to determine what direction Nathan and his group had headed, north.

Reyes ordered Franks." Give those two at the vehicles our location and get them here now. We need to get moving!"

A former Staff Sergeant in the Army Rangers Sergeant Smalls had been demoted and kicked out of the Rangers. No one really knew why, but his temperament probably had something to do with it. He spoke to Reyes in a thick country accent. "Howere we gonna know where they got off at?” Reyes responded. "We're going to look for the most scenic route a back or dirt road. We'll set up the electronic intercept equipment as well, that's all we can do for now."

Former Staff Sergeant Smalls flashed a little of his volatile attitude. "You told me if I came we were gonna see some action." Reyes moved close to Smalls then spoke in a lowered voice "And we will, but it's going to take time." Smalls gripped his rifle tighter. "I'm not known to be a patient man."

Reyes nodded then grinned a little as Smalls moved away. He didn't like being talked to like that, but he accepted it. He got to hand pick the soldiers he wanted to come on this assignment. With the exception of Franks, Reyes didn’t pick one soldier who had not been demoted, reprimanded or spent time in to brig. Reyes put together the most volatile group of soldiers he could find, men who lived to fight. Truthfully Reyes wasn't concerned with the people he lost and he didn't care about orders, he was embarrassed, beat by a little girl and handled by an idiot trying to play hero. Reyes wanted revenge and he picked the men most likely to help him get it. These were not Army soldiers these were the worst America had to offer, animals that slipped thru the cracks of honor, courage and commitment.

Nathan was up early, a great feat considering the late hour he retired the previous night. The curiosity his group of rebels expressed about what was happening around them was substantial. What really surprised Nathan was their desire to learn and the openness in which they processed information. Nathan only gave a limited amount of information, specifically on the New World Order and the secret societies behind it. He wanted those he spoke with to research for themselves to draw their own conclusion. Nathan thought it ironic that people would now thirst for knowledge that only a few months prior they would have considered outrageous propaganda. If only they would have opened their minds sooner. The important thing was that he convinced everyone to stay, at least for the time being. Nathan knew it was only a matter of time until the chaos began. Nathan started setting up training areas Beast by his side. Nathan set the firing range a good 400 yards east of camp to ensure everyone’s safety. He walked back to camp and found his friends as well as a few others awake. Anthony was surprised to see his friend up and about. "I thought you were sleeping." as Nathan was walking towards Anthony and Darion he responded. "I had to go set up the range." Anthony and Darion looked at each other and then to Nathan both wondering if they were moving too fast. Nathan had his hands resting on top of one another while the bottom of his forearms rested on the top of his short swords, a common rest position for him. "We can't wait we have to start training now."

Darion did not have a look of confidence as he asked his brother. "Do you think they will be open to training already?"

Nathan shrugged slightly. "We'll train the ones that volunteer; with all they have experienced lately I think their ready for knowledge...thirsty for it."

Nathan told Darion to go get Lex and Jason and to gather everyone. As Darion left Anthony looked at his friend. Nathan and Anthony had known each other for a long time and Anthony could see something was bothering Nathan.

Anthony casually spoke to Nathan. "What’s up?" Nathan looked at the ground as he moved his arms across his chest. "I had a dream last night Ant ... it was probably nothing…but"

Anthony could sense the fear in his friend’s voice."But what Nate?" Nathan gathered his words. "Well, it was a jumble of images" Anthony tentatively asked. "Like you had before?"

Nathan shook his head. "I can't remember, that was so long ago." Nathan continued. “It was Kayla...in trouble." Anthony thought for a moment and then tried to comfort his friend as best he could. "It was probably just a dream, all this stuff going on its only natural for your worries to show up in your dreams."

Nathan hesitated as he confided in his friend. "There was something else… bloodshed … lots of it." Anthony let a moment pass before he asked. "When?" Nathan looked at Anthony and then looked towards the camp. "Soon"

Reyes sat in the passenger seat of the JLTV while his signals team sat in the rear with laptops open. Reyes addressed his team."I want you looking for any signals anywhere." The soldier responded. "Sarge, we can only get around a fifteen mile radius."

Reyes nodded as he went back to scanning the roads ahead. "That should be good enough."

While Franks was driving Reyes advised. "Franks keep a slow pace and look for any side roads where they might have pulled off." Franks nodded. “Roger that Sarge.”

Darion, Jason and Alexia went through the group asking for volunteers to train. After a few minutes the volunteers crowded around Nathan and Anthony. There were eleven volunteers in all ranging from sixteen to fifty. Once Darion, Alexia and Jason joined the group Nathan spoke.

"We are going to give you guys a few combat lessons today. Hopefully you will never have to use what we teach you but if someone does threaten us I want to make sure you can defend yourselves. You’re going to be split into three groups one will go with Anthony for firearms training, one group will go with me for melee weapons training and another will go with Alexia for hand to hand combat. "A young man in his early 20's huffed at the thought of being trained by a girl. Nathan smiled "... anyone who can beat Ms. Alexia is more than welcome to teach the class."

Some of the volunteers turned to Alexia who was smiling innocently.

"We will switch groups during the day. As well as teach you how to fight I want you all to expand your minds. You are more than welcome to watch or listen to whatever the Illuminati play over the radio or television, but if you do I ask that you listen to Darion as well as read the plethora of books I have brought." Nathan took a breath. "Let's begin."

Anthony walked over to the young man who huffed about Alexia. Anthony addressed him as he was headed straight for her group."Be careful."

The young man responded arrogantly. "I was a Marine and have been doing MMA for three years; I doubt I have much to worry about." Anthony smiled. "Well, good luck then."

Nathan sent Darion and Jason to scout the area then took his group to a small clearing near the creek where he had already set up his silver chest he then addressed his group who included Mr. Hanesworth. "If a full blown war breaks out we will be at a distinct disadvantage. They have all the guns, as well as the ammunition so we have to adjust our tactics. One of them is to elude our pursuers by hiding in the forest another is to conserve our ammunition as much as possible, but the most important advantage we will have over them is combat training. In the open or in large forces hand to hand tactics will get us killed, but a small force especially in close quarters is devastating to those not prepared for it." Nathan opened the chest."I have several different weapons, particularly swords, I want you to find one you feel suits you the best."

Reyes and his team fueled up at the same gas station his prey did only a day prior. "They were here" Franks wasn’t as sure as his superior. "Anyone could have ransacked this place."

Reyes shook his head. "No. If they came in this direction they had to stop here it’s the only station for miles. Plus there is junk everywhere even toy wrappers. No, they came this way I'm sure of it.”

Back at the camp Nathan was concluding his first lesson. "Great job guys tomorrow we’re going to find a piece of wood that best represents your weapon. We’re going to shape them until their as close as you can get to yours then we'll start sparring. Let's move to the next station"

As Nathan and his group approached Alexia and her station he could see people rolling and falling, a vital technique for martial arts, he also saw the young man who showed his distaste for his female trainer... with a bruised jaw.

Nathan walked up to Alexia. "Time to switch groups," leaning into Alexia he said. "Do try not to hurt anyone this time." Alexia gasped and put on her fake southern belle accent."Why brother whatever do you mean?" Nathan’s eyes narrowed as he gave her a crooked grin.

Slowly the training day went by, everyone doing fairly well. The rebels now relaxed in the cool evening. Some were reading Nathans books others were crowded around the television in the suburban. Darion was walking around helping those who had questions. Not so far away a small blip appeared on a laptop computer, a small electronic signal, emitted from the TV.

Reyes turned around excitedly."Where?" "Eleven miles north by north west." The soldier responded. "GPS shows no roads just a large creek."

Reyes was overjoyed."That's them, we'll get as close as the road will take us then we will go in."

Reyes checked his SG 10 automatic pistol and muttered under his breath."Payback's a Bitch"

A horrendous thunderstorm fell upon Nathan and his crew with surprising speed. Someone yelled, "Get to the tents!"

Everyone ran for cover Beast followed Nathan as he ran to the suburban. Nathan jumped in after Beast and found Anthony already there. Anthony spoke as the rain was still dripping over his face. "First hail now what a tornado." Nathan soaked from head to toe said. "If it was July... maybe, but the weather usually isn’t this bad in December." Anthony chuckled. "December, I know it doesn't snow down here or anything but it had to be what 90 degrees today."

Nathan looked out the window up towards the sky. "I think it's going to get worse."

Anthony turned to his prophetic friend sensing that he meant overall and not just this particular storm. "As long as we don't have to deal with bloody water, locusts and hell fire I'll be alright."

Nathan gave Anthony an intense foreboding look. Anthony just sat back and cocked his head as they both laughed.

Later Anthony left and headed for his tent. Nathan finally crawled in the back and went to sleep with Beast already fast asleep.

Reyes and his convoy had just pulled over when the rain started. Franks said."I can't see a damn thing!" Reyes turned to his signals team. "How far?" The signals operator looked at his computer. "6.25 miles west"

Reyes thought for a moment then got on his communicator."We'll wait a few hours so we know their asleep this rain should slack off some by then."

Three and a half hours later it was still pouring. Reyes spoke into his communicator again. "Put your ponchos on and meet in the tree line. Drivers stay with your vehicles" Reyes let his thumb off the transmit button then turned to Franks. "Except for you." he motioned to the back. "One of them can stay let's go."

Ten soldiers knelt and crouched in the mud as Reyes prepared to give them their orders. Franks spoke up, "I can barely see anything it's raining so hard visibility is bad tonight Sarge."

Smalls eager to shoot something looked at Franks with a look that plainly said shut up, then he yelled over the rain."MORE COVER." Reyes loudly chimed in as he adjusted the hood on his poncho. "I agree more cover. We're going to fan out no more than five meters apart I don't want to lose anyone in this weather. No one takes action unless I say so. Understand?"

Everyone answered."Affirmative, 10-4 and roger that." Smalls just smiled.

Silent and swift Reyes and his men made their way through the rain, trees and mud while communicating with hand signals. The sound of the rain crashing through the trees covered any sound they made combined with their digital camouflage gore-tex ponchos made them nearly invisible. A few hours later Reyes and his team found the creek. They crossed just south of the camp site and slowly began edging their way towards it. The rain fell so hard it was difficult for the soldiers to see 5 feet in front of them. As Reyes approached the edge of the clearing he could see tents in front of him and could barely make out the two vehicles through the rain. Reyes stopped Franks and Smalls at his side. He then pointed to Smalls then to some team members and signaled them to circle to the other side of the camp. Smalls nodded and lead his team into position. Reyes pulled Franks and the other soldiers close and whispered. "Check the tents, if you see anyone with a weapon cut their throats."

Franks eyes got wide. Reyes whispered aggressively."Move!"

The five silently made their way towards the tents. Franks jittered nervously as he slowly unzipped the first tent he breathed a sigh of relief when he saw a little girl sleeping soundly, soon his premature calm was interrupted by a blood curdling scream as she woke up.

Beast barked furiously while Nathan was already moving. He kicked the door open and jumped out forty-fives drawn. His first sight was Franks and another soldier standing by the tents with rifles ready. Franks went to throw his hands up but wasn't fast enough as his partner lifted his rifle at Nathan. Nathan dove to the side while releasing a blaze of gun fire at the two soldiers. Immediately shots emanated towards Nathans position. Although they clearly couldn't see him they still posed a threat, Nathan ran for the woods. Once there he heard the little girls scream stop suddenly cut off through the hail of gun fire. Nathan growled through his clenched teeth, "No!!!"

A fury from beneath the surface surged through Nathans body like fire, he ran along the treeline looking for his new enemies. Nathan saw two soldiers behind a tree shooting at Nathans previous position by the suburban. Nathan unloaded the rest of his clips one into each soldier, he then dropped his forty-fives and reached for the two pistols under his arms. Before he could grab them a soldier shot out from behind a tree to Nathans left. Nathan instinctively rolled forward and came up directly in front of him with both short swords drawn and piercing the soldier’s neck nearly decapitating him. Nathan retracted his swords and began to move. Almost immediately he came upon three more soldiers. One fired as Nathan moved around a large tree. Nathan exited the other side in a flurry of swordplay kicking the rifle out of the hands of one soldier while simultaneously slicing the neck of another. He then spun around and pierced the one he just kicked. The third soldier went to hit Nathan with the butt of his rifle but missed. Nathan sidestepped, moved his swords to reverse grip while spinning around the soldier till they were back to back, his swords then entered the man’s sides as he screamed in agony. Nathan was blind in his rage as he looked for more prey.

Across the camp Anthony was shouting to the rest of the rebels. "STAY DOWN!" Anthony grabbed cover behind Darions jeep and exchanged fire with Smalls and his group. Alexia was trying to keep everyone down while Jason and Darion were trying to determine where they fit into this. Anthony downed two soldiers when he saw Nathan cut across. Nathan met Smalls who instinctively blocked Nathans first attack with his rifle and a quick kick to Nathans stomach. Nathan staggered back, when he did Anthony shot. He hit Smalls in the shoulder dropping him to his knees. Nathan shot forward and kneed Smalls in the face. Anthony saw a soldier fast approaching Nathan but was busy reloading. "BEHIND YOU!" Nathan dove to the side just as the soldier fired mistakenly hitting Smalls as he was trying to recover. The soldier began to fire in Nathans direction but didn’t get close as a well aimed shot from Anthony pierced the man’s skull. After a moment of silence Nathan moved into the camp, amid the cries and screams he noticed beast dragging a soldier by the neck as if he was a chew toy. Nathan sheathed his swords and began checking his remaining pistols as he gave orders to his group. "Darion, you and Jason sweep west. Shoot anything that moves."

Anthony, Darion, Jason and Alexia all looked at Nathan. He was covered in blood from head to toe despite the rain. Nathan picked up a rifle and tossed it to Alexia who was still in shock. "Get everyone together and make a perimeter." Nathan still didn’t notice the stares; he knew it wasn’t over yet. He spoke to Darion and Jason. "Start scouting west."

Darion and Jason still stood drop jawed at Nathans appearance. Nathan jogged them back. "GO!"

Darion and Jason took off while Alexia began to rally everyone. Nathan walked towards the woods to retrieve his forty-fives, Marcus Hainsworth was following

"Whats going on? Who did this?"

Nathan retrieved his pistols from the mud and began to wipe them off. "Go with the others."

Nathan began to reload his pistols, Marcus continued. "Damn it they tried to kill us."

Anthony had walked over and spoke to Marcus. "We can talk about this later; right now we need to ensure everyone’s safety." Marcus nodded and moved towards the others. Nathan looked over the river and spoke to Anthony while he cocked his forty-fives taking note of the dirt and grit he felt as the rounds slid into place. "We’ve got a runner, I saw him take off after I dealt with his friends, we have to catch him if we want answers."

Nathan didn’t wait for a response, he started heading towards the creek. Anthony joined him. The waterway was flooded; Nathan and Anthony had to swim across fighting the current. Once on the other side they began running east. Nathans biggest motivation was the fear that whoever ran would get away and bring more soldiers....after hearing that little girl’s screams of dread he knew he couldn’t let anyone escape.

                                * *   *

Reyes ran as fast as he could after seeing that mad man slice through three of his men. He knew he had made a mistake. He tripped and fell more than once but knew he couldn’t slow down; he had to get to the JLTV and escape. Primal fear out ran unbridled rage that day as Reyes met the two men standing guard outside the JLTV’s. He stumbled to the ground after his six mile sprint. The soldiers quickly moved to him as he tried to speak in between gasping for air.

"Must....huh....leave...knives...he's...crazy." As Reyes crawled towards the door to the JLTV one of the soldiers asked. "Where are the others Staff Sergeant?" Reyes reached and grabbed the man’s collar. "Must....leave...now!"

Just then a bullet from a 40 caliber pistol hit the soldier holding Reyes in the head, another hit the seconds scull before he even heard the first shot. Nathan walked up gasping as well, Anthony behind slightly less winded. Nathan pointed his pistols at Reyes. "I...really... hate...running."

Nathan shot Reyes in the arm as he reached for his own pistol. Nathan then moved closer to a screaming Reyes returned his pistols under his arms, then pulled a sword out with one hand while lifting Reyes with the other. "Why are you here?" Nathan said still catching his breath.

Reyes stuttered as he winced in pain. "I, it wasn’t...I was ordered." Nathan placed the tip of his sword to Reyes throat. "How did you find us?" Reyes again answered despite the pain surging through his body, "The, we used electronic detection." Nathan pressed the point of his sword hard enough to draw a thin line of blood. "Who else knows were here?" This time Reyes answered quickly. "No one, I swear we haven’t told anyone else." Reading Reyes’s last statement as true Nathan dragged Reyes from the road to the woods. Anthony saw what was coming and tried to stop it. "Nathan...NATHAN!"

Nathan slammed Reyes into a tree. "I told you what would happen if you followed us.”

Reyes was muttering "No, no." while Anthony was moving to interrupt. But it was too late; Nathan sliced Reyes neck turned around sheathed his sword and began walking towards the vehicles before Reyes blood soaked body even hit the mud. Anthony turned his head away from the sight. Nathan calmly walked to the other dead soldiers, dragged them into the woods dropped their bodies and took their weapons. Anthony had never seen his friend like this before, he was speechless.

Nathan pocketed the pistols then turned to his friend. "I can't risk their lives over my inaction... if I have to become what I hate to protect those I have sworn to then so be it." Nathan’s words were stained with the rage still flowing thru him. After a short silence he tried to change the subject. "Let's get the trucks. The trail we entered in shouldn't be too far off." After removing any evidence from the area Nathan and Anthony each drove one of the JLTV’s back to the camp. They made sure to close up the trail behind them. All of the mud as well as the overflowing creek were no match for the JLTV’s all terrain capabilities. Once at the camp Nathan moved to Darion, Jason and Alexia who were cleaning up. Nathan got out and immediately walked to his brother. "How many of our people were hurt?" Darion shook his head. "None except for my jeep." Nathans eyes widened with hope as he was surprised by the answer. "No one?" Darion shook his head again. "Yeah, just a few bumps and bruises, thankfully everybody stayed down." In a small voice Jason tentatively said. "I think those guys were more concerned with you than with anyone else."

"We didn't find anything to the west obviously you two did." Darion said while pointing at the JLTV’s. Nathan still thinking of the little girls screams that were stopped abruptly was making sure."Are you sure everyone is alright? No one was hurt?"

Darion huffed at being asked the same question three times. "No, no one it’s like Jason said when we looked out of the tent all of those guys were trying to find you. They were too occupied to worry about anyone else. Anthony got some of their attention, but most of them were busy trying to get to you."

Just then Marcus walked up much calmer than before."Did you find anyone?" Nathan looked at Anthony for a second and then answered. "Yes, they have been dealt with nobody knows we’re here, still from now on we set a watch. Two people at all times" Marcus paused a moment then asked. "Uhh…What do you want us to do with the bodies?" Everyone stopped Nathan met eyes with Alexia who was still in shock at her brother’s efficiency in killing. Nathan's first thought was to throw them in the creek but that was too dangerous, the bodies would eventually wash up somewhere. Plus they were soldiers, no matter how misled they were. "We will bury them."

Journal entry # 5

I will never forget the first time I killed it was one of the worst experiences in my life. Not a day goes by when I don’t think of the people I’ve killed. They say that after a while you become numb, disconnected... that’s a lie. You can either justify it or bury the memory. How many have I killed how many more will I? Most of them were truly innocent, tainted and coerced led like the pied pipers rats.

I accepted a responsibility to protect all of those who have decided to live free and though they fight for themselves I am the one who released them from prison, who gave them that choice these people chose by my words to join this revolution. Soon the corrupted will become the corrupters, caught in an intricate set of lies propagated by the Illuminati and their leader. Tension is building among those encamped, the Illuminati will soon learn that the American will does not bend so easily. When those who express their desire for freedom are persecuted and incarcerated unjustly we will be there to release them. Whatever reason they decide to join us whether it is because they believe what they hear from us, see from them or because they have nowhere else to go, whatever the reason they stay on my words and so I must protect them regardless the price on my soul.
