I know what’s truly going to vex you later is knowing if the reality you’re in now is a part of the original timeline when Jesus lived, or if you’re living in a reality based on a “simulation” of his life. Don’t let it get to you. The point is, he was born, he lived, he died, he was resurrected in spirit, and he returned home whole and with even more understanding than what he left with. And considering he was the wisest of us to begin with, that says a lot.

After Jesus’s return, it became mandatory angel training to experience human realities even more than we had been previously. We do it so we can continue to understand the human soul, because we still don’t understand the whole attraction to drama, pain, and suffering, but we’re trying to understand and to help you all one day evolve beyond your apparent need for these experiences as “entertainment” and especially as learning tools.

When Jesus returned, all of us had questions, but the young lord was weary and simply said with a soft smile and a chortle, “I’m not doing that again. Next time we’ll have a different game plan.”

Of course, Archangel Uriel is itching for that moment to arrive. The fiery angel of Armageddon is ready to control-alt-delete this reality or destroy it altogether. But as long as you humans seek to experience this reality, the Source will provide it. This reality will run its course, be “destroyed,” and then be rebooted and ready for another run.

But no matter how many times this reality occurs, there will have been only one birth—one Christmas—which was in the spring, by the way, because that’s Jesus’s favorite season. But we knew the celebration would find its way into the winter. We won’t split hairs on that one. You humans do enough of that without our help.

Because of Jesus’s great accomplishment, humans carry the memory of him and his sacrifice in their spiritual DNA. It’s not a Christian, Jewish, Muslim, or Buddhist thing. Remember, Jesus isn’t Christian. Technically, he’s not Jewish, either. He is the King of Angels, a young angel himself who risked his very existence because he believed in the human spirit. Regardless of our religion in these realities, he is with us. He has many names and many avatars, and his story crosses religions in this world as well as others.

There are realities where Christianity, as you know it, emerged as a result of his “presence” in the timeline. There are realities where other, completely different religions emerge. That’s why we angels repeatedly say that we have no religion. Our loyalty is to our king, the one of us who was the bravest, wisest, and most compassionate; to the one who didn’t see the human soul as flawed, but rather as uncharted territory to be explored, understood, and nurtured. His act of complete selflessness and sacrifice saved the human soul in more ways than any one religion or doctrine ever could.

Jesus didn’t do it for glory, nor to be worshipped, but to give the fledgling souls of the Source a chance to exist, grow, and evolve. In return, the only thing he asks for is that humans act with the same selflessness and treat each other with the same love and compassion so that they may learn from each other, as well as from the Hosts of Heaven.

THE ARCHANGELS

Here is a brief summary of the angels I’ve been working closely with over the past two decades. Some of them have already been mentioned throughout this book. If you’ve read my first two books,
Azrael Loves Chocolate, Michael’s A Jock
or
The Angel Code
, then you’re already familiar with these guys and gals, but I’ve added some new information that may prove incredibly useful when engaging them, so don’t skip this section.

My new readers may be wondering why I only mention sixteen angels in this book and not an encyclopedia’s worth. Well, I only write about the angels I interact with on a regular basis. When it comes to working with the divine, I use a method that I call “reverse angelneering.” When an angel steps into my life, I avoid researching them as much as possible. I get to know them by talking with them and seeing how they move in and out of my life. I note what’s going on in my world when they arrive, the wisdom they bestow, and how they approach various situations that arise. After a few months, I’ll then research the angel to compare notes of my personal experiences with references ranging from religious and academic texts to experts in the theological, anthropological, metaphysical, and paranormal fields. This is how I validate the angel’s presence, as well as my intuitive gifts.

But, there is a caveat. The angels will appear and interact with us in ways that we are receptive to; hence just because the angels appear to me in one way, it doesn’t necessarily mean they will appear to you in the same fashion. When I first debuted as an author, I was adamant that I would not discuss what the angels looked like because I didn’t want to impose my visions onto others. Well, that plan quickly folded because readers by the droves were falling just short of demanding that I describe these benevolent Hosts of Heaven. Hey, we’re visual creatures, and so I was naive to try to dodge the topic. Eventually I dropped a clue here and there, and then I decided to show some artwork I had commissioned. It came as no surprise that I received two kinds of responses: “That’s exactly how Michael appears to me!” or “Nah, I envisioned him differently.”

And that’s fine! The angels may change how they appear from one person to the next, but one thing is certain: they all have what I call an “energy signature,” which means they have an aura about them that does not change. The summaries that follow offer icons, colors, numbers, and scents that resonate with each angel’s energy signature to give you a better idea of how to recognize them. For example, Archangel Michael can appear as any race with any hair color and any accent, but we can all recognize the sun, the javelin, and the lion as his icons. And when we step outside on a bright, summer day to let the sun shine on our face, we feel the archangel’s energy. We feel his presence—warm, golden, vibrant.

A word to the wise when embarking on this section: You’ll see that I have listed ways to invoke the angel’s energy for meditation or for mundane situations like taking an exam or celebrating a birthday. Note that I speak of invoking the angel’s
energy
, not invoking the actual angel. Unlike so many other angel books on the market, I do not subscribe to having to conduct rites or even uttering prayers to entice an angel to stand by your side. Just call out the angel’s name and know they will be there. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve been vexed by a situation and simply called out “Michael!” much like Aladdin called for his genie. (And yes, Michael has appeared to me with a comical look on his face and quoting Disney’s version of the genie: “Poof! What do you need?”)

Moreover, I definitely don’t believe that silly incantations, candle spells, rubbing an enchanted lamp, or any other magic-related activity can persuade an angel to do your bidding—say, for instance, to get your boss to give you a promotion or to turn your crush’s attention in your direction. The angels don’t work for us, they work for the Source and the Source alone.

Now, I do believe that if you want to feel a bit more confident when you go into a job review for a possible promotion, you can invoke energies that resonate with an archangel’s vibrations. That is to say, you can channel the angel’s attributes when you need them. Some of you reading this may be old enough to remember the ’90s Gatorade “Be Like Mike” ad campaign. It was referring to the basketball legend Michael Jordan and implied that if you drank Gatorade, you could own the courts with masterful moves like Jordan did.

The same principle applies here. If you want to be like Mike, in this case Archangel Michael, then you can channel his vibrations of strength and courage by wearing his colors of gold, yellow, or white. You can wear a pendant of angel wings or a lion’s head. You can even decorate your environment with bright images of the sun, sunlit oceans, and tropical settings. If you want to turn the head of someone you fancy, then invoke the energies of Archangel Sandalphon by wearing pink or light green. Send flowers or candy. Write love poetry.

Now, just as with drinking Gatorade, doing these things is not a guarantee that you will get what you desire, because I believe that no matter what we do, the outcomes in life are already plotted out. Nevertheless, invoking the energies of the angels helps us to better recognize their presence and better understand ourselves. You’ll get to the point where you’re so confident that you’ll no longer feel you have to cling to a pendant with Michael’s likeness. You’ll feel so creative that you no longer feel you need a cherub ornament (Sandalphon) hanging from your computer monitor.

But let me warn you now that once you begin engaging the angels and getting to know them on a personal level, you will want them around “just because.” You may feel that you don’t need Uriel to take on a judge and a menacing traffic cop in court, but you will have become so close to him that he’s the one you’ll go to when you need to let off steam and vent about said cop. At this point you will have established a true and long-lasting relationship with your angelic brothers and sisters. You’ll no longer go to them only when you want or need something, but just because you want to feel them close to you. That is, after all, the purpose of this book and the books before it: to help you get to the point where you see the angels as dear friends and family, not just as some supernatural beings that come to save you when you’re in a bind.

So use this section to help familiarize yourself with your cosmic siblings. Get to know them so that one day you may be able to connect with them and bring more meaning to your life than you could ever imagine.
