"He's
right
man.

She
went
the
fuck
off
on
me
because
she
thought
I
had
something
to
do
with
this
shit."

Teddy
agreed.

"She
wants
to
talk.

It's
just
too
painful
right
now."

"Yeah,
like
it
or
not
you're
going
to
have
to
leave
the
ball
in
her
court
and
wait
for
her
to
make
the
next
move.

As
mad
as
she
is
right
now
nothing
you
say
is
going
to
change
the
way
she
feels.

In
fact
you
could
make
shit
worst."

Dorian
added.

"Damn
it!

I
need
her
back.

I
fucking
can't
sleep
without
her.

She's
probably
sleeping
like
a
baby,
huh
Logic?"

"Not
really,
she
keeps
me
up
half
the
night."

Logic
mumbled.

"Okay,
I'm
going
to
listen
to
y’all
and
I'm
only
going
to
call
her
once,
no
twice
a
day.

I'm
going
to
give
her
enough
time
and
space
to
calm
down."

"And
can
you
please
chill
with
the
damn
flowers.

You
got
my
apartment
looking
like
a
damn
rose
garden.

Nigga,
she
gets
it.

You
love
her
and
you're
sorry.

Damn!"

Logic
teased.

"Apparently
she
doesn't.

But
I'm
going
to
keep
sending
them
until
she
does."

Paul
laughed.

They
all
laughed
with
him.

It
was
comforting
to
see
him
laugh
and
smile
again.

Paul
finally
had
a
ray
of
hope
to
latch
on
to
and
somehow
he
knew
in
his
heart
that
everything
would
someday
be
okay.

CHAPTER
26

Teddy's
parents,
who
were
killed
in
a
drunk
driving
accident,
passed
away
a
few
years
ago
and
left
him
a
modest
horse
ranch.

Although
it
was
an
absolutely
beautiful
estate
the
memories
were
too
painful
for
Teddy
and
he
chose
to
share
the
townhouse
with
Paul
instead
of
living
there.

At
least
once
or
twice
a
week
he
went
to
the
ranch
to
help
the
stable
hands
and
to
ride
the
horses.

Since
Queen
had
been
gone,
he
discovered
that
he
missed
her
deeply.

The
house
was
not
the
same
without
her
there.

Paul
was
not
the
same
without
her
either.

Hell,
he
had
to
admit
that
he
wasn't
even
the
same
without
her.

He
thought
about
her
often
and
he
wanted
to
spend
some
time
with
her.

So,
he
decided
to
take
Queen
with
him
to
the
ranch
to
go
horseback
riding
with
him.

He
thought
that
it
would
help
her
relax
and
take
her
mind
off
things.

Well,
at
least
for
a
little
while.

"Okay
Mye
Queen,
take
your
pick."

Teddy
invited
as
he
pointed
to
the
horses
residing
in
the
stable
stalls.

Queen
stood
at
the
entrance
of
the
stable
utterly
spellbound.

The
stable
held
twelve
magnificent
animals,
which
towered
over
her
like
gigantic
skyscrapers.

Scared
shitless
she
asked,
"How
about
I
just
watch
you
ride?"

"What?

How
about
you
get
over
here.

What's
the
matter?"
Teddy
asked
as
he
grabbed
her
by
the
hand
and
pulled
her
down
the
aisle
of
the
stable.

"Nothing,
I'm
okay."

"Hold
up,
I
know
you
are
not
afraid."

"Hell
yeah
I'm
scared!

I've
never
ridden
a
horse
before.

These
horses
are
huge.

I
could
break
my
neck
if
I
fall.

I
want
to
be
a
doctor,
not
a
paraplegic."

"Come
over
here
Mye
Queen.

I
want
to
introduce
you
to
King.

He's
my
favorite.

We'll
ride
him
together
until
you
learn
how
to
ride.

I
promise
you,
nothing

s
going
to
happen
to
you."

"There
is
no
way
I'm
getting
up
there."

Queen
replied
as
she
pointed
to
the
horse
that
Teddy
was
preparing
to
saddle.

Teddy
laughed.
"It's
safe,
trust
me."

"Okay.

So,
his
name
is
really
King?"

she
asked
as
she
neared
the
beautiful
coal
black
stallion.

"Yes,
so
you
see
you'll
be
fine.

After
all
what
are
the
odds
that
a
King
will
break
a
Queen's
neck?"

He
joked.

"Actually
as
corny
as
that
sounds,
you're
probably
right.

It's
really
too
ironic
to
actually
happen."

Queen
relaxed
and
took
a
second
look
at
the
beautiful
stallion.

"He's
handsome.

Can
I
pet
him?"

She
asked
as
she
drew
closer
to
Teddy
and
King.

"Here
let
me
show
you
how
to
brush
him.

He
loves
to
be
groomed."

Teddy
said
as
he
retrieved
a
brush
from
the
saddlebag
and
began
to
methodically
brush
the
horse's
long,
silky
black
mane.

"Here
give
me
your
hand."
He
said
as
he
stood
behind
her
and
guided
her
hand
as
she
brushed
King's
wavy
hair.

His
closeness
was
alarming
yet
comforting
and
Queen's
fears
soon
dissipated.

"Good
boy.

You're
such
a
pretty
boy."

Queen
gently
spoke
as
she
continued
to
brush
King's
mane
as
Teddy
secured
the
saddle
and
checked
the
integrity
of
the
straps.

"He's
absolutely
breathtaking,
I
don't
think
I
have
ever
seen
anything
so
stunning."

Queen
declared
in
admiration.

"I
have."

Teddy
said
as
he
peered
over
King's
back
at
Queen.

Queen
simply
ignored
the
statement.

"I
think
he
likes
you."

I
hope
you're
right.

He
seems
so
gentle,
but
he
looks
like
he
could
fly
like
the
wind.

Is
he
fast?"

"Yeah,
there's
a
reason
he's
my
favorite.

He's
the
fastest
horse
in
the
stable,"

Teddy
grinned.

"So,
are
you
ready
to
ride?"

"Bear,
I
don't
know.

Promise,
you'll
go
slow?"
