His thigh muscles strained, and his skin grew lathered with sweat. He continued to thrust into her like a madman, desperate for release.
Please let this be it.

Glynn’s balls lurched up tight—a first for him—and his orgasm mounted to impossible heights. Even his lower back knotted with pent-up pressure. He was almost there. Almost.

“Oh, please. Please.” He chanted the plea from between clenched teeth.

Beneath him, Deina wailed long and low and seized again. Seconds later, coaxed by the energy of her release, his cock bucked. He came in hard, dry spasms that shook his entire body.

Triumphant and defeated by turns, he closed his eyes and hung his head. Although his trembling legs threatened to give out on him, he remained standing by sheer force of will. He’d been so sure he’d spend his seed this time. Getting so close only to fall short again was a form of heaven and hell.

Was he deluding himself? He didn’t think so. Glynn had never felt this kind of sexual intensity with any other woman. She had to be the one. All he had to do was prove it.

Fortunately, he had all weekend to do just that.

* * * *

Deina made love with Glynn after dinner and twice more the following morning. She watched him grunt and strive and strain again and again only to come dry. He seemed to receive a great deal of pleasure and relief from his orgasms, but she knew he wasn’t reaching his full potential.

With each subsequent engagement, she began to share his disappointment, especially since he seemed so close. Could he have a psychological block? Sometimes people worried and concentrated on achieving orgasm so hard they tripped themselves up. Maybe Glynn needed a distraction.

Deciding to try something new that afternoon, she took the top and tried to talk to him while she rode his cock. Sometime during their morning bout of sex, she’d discovered Glynn could be fairly chatty when he wanted to be. Right now, talk was the only thing she could think of to keep his mind off his climax.

“You never did tell me why you signed up for a Sex Ed class to begin with.” Deina kept her tone conversational, although it wasn’t easy with his erection gliding smoothly in and out of her channel, rubbing her from the inside out. “It doesn’t seem like the kind of thing you’d need or would go for.”

It was also what had made her take a second glance at the otherwise straitlaced man. She was glad she had.

Although Glynn tried to match her casual tone, his voice was little more than a rasp between grunts. “Because of my race’s difficulties, I—oh, yes—hoped I’d find a solution to my sexual issues. Yes, right there, Deina. Right there. I wondered if maybe I’d have more luck with an alien woman.”

Deina’s orgasm was building by leaps and bounds, making her womb wind tighter and tighter. Unable to stop, she quickened her ride until her thighs ached with exertion. It was getting harder to speak.

“So you were looking for a dating service, huh?”

“Sort of.” Glynn groaned. “It seems to have worked out that way for the other students.”

“It worked out that way for you, too.” Deina had always thought destiny was a funny thing. “I’m an alien woman, you met me through the class, and you’re definitely getting lucky.”

Beneath her, he thrust his hips until he made her bounce. His whole face was flushed, and his eyes were hooded. “I knew I wanted you from the first moment I saw you. I wanted to rip that Allurian off you and take his place between your thighs. I wanted to—ahhh!”

She watched his muscles bunch as he arched beneath her. At the same time, her own climax exploded, locking her on to his cock with a series of contractions. Deina went temporarily deaf and blind, although some tiny corner of her brain noted there was no spurt of warmth inside her, no extra dampness. Once again, her lover hadn’t been able to spend.

When she regained her senses, she found herself sprawled over his chest. She lifted her head, expecting to see disappointment and frustration written across his face. Instead, he looked peaceful and content.

“You are so beautiful.” He stroked her cheek and gazed at her with such open admiration her heart turned over.

Deina kissed him tenderly. “You’re not too bad yourself. Why do you think I keep trying to snag you as a husband?”

He would make a good husband, too. She was sure of that now. Glynn had proven how much he was willing to bend for her, and she realized she’d underestimated him. He was a complex man with lots to offer.

Tilting his head, he seemed to study her for a long moment. Then he nodded like he’d come to a decision. “Wait here.”

She grumbled a protest when he rolled her off him, but curiosity held her there while he walked into his closet.

After a minute, he strode to her side of the bed and kneeled so they were face-to-face. He held a sparkling ring between them.

“I bought this for you before we ever played our first game or talked about marriage. You see, I was so sure we’d be compatible, I wanted to be prepared.”

Deina’s heart, which had begun to levitate with joy at the sight of the ring, suddenly stuttered. “But we’re not compatible. I haven’t made you spend.”

“No,” he agreed. “I feel like I’m close, so it may still happen. Or I may never spend my seed with you. It doesn’t matter. I realize now it will never matter. You’re the one I want. If tomorrow I meet another woman who’s guaranteed to be my sexual match, I’ll still only want you. Every time we make love, all I can think about is how much I want to do it again.”

Tears made his image waver before her.

Glynn cleared his throat, and when he spoke, he sounded more like the serious, pragmatic guy she’d fallen in love with. “I looked into New Earthling marriage rituals, so I should have this right. I’m down on my knee, I have an engagement ring ready, and I think you know how I feel about you. Will you marry me?”

She could almost hear him going down a checklist. Silly man. Throwing her arms around him, she gave him a sloppy kiss.

“Of course I’ll marry you. That’s the prize I’ve been competing for. You could have made this a lot easier if you’d just lost.” She watched him slip the precious ring on her finger. “Oh, Glynn, I love you, too.”

He may not have spoken the words aloud, but he’d said them loud and clear all the same. Besides, she’d win a declaration from him eventually. Three little words and a sac of sperm—if she had her way, he’d be releasing both to her very soon.

Chapter 12

Full Circle

The next morning, Deina made a quick run home for a change of clothes while Glynn prepared brunch. Since she was dying to tell everyone about her engagement, she took the time to make some calls, although she saved one special call for last. Not knowing whether to expect him or his wife, she waited until Quinn’s face appeared onscreen.

“Deina, hi. How are you?” Although Quinn’s tone was friendly, his voice held a hint of reserve.

Years ago, long before he’d ever met his wife, he’d shared a one-night stand with Deina. It had been an exciting interlude, but it hadn’t meant anything to either of them. She’d later dated one of his friends without it being a problem. Now, though—years after the fact—she could tell he was hesitant about telling his wife. The funny part was Xindra was as shrewd as they came. Deina had taken one look at the woman and recognized instantly that she knew the truth—knew and wasn’t in the least bit threatened by it. Why Quinn was discomfited was a mystery, but he was always nice to her.

“I need a little advice,” she told him. “I was hoping maybe you could help me out.”

Before he could answer, Xindra’s voice sounded in the background. “Honey, who called?” She came into view. “Oh, Deina, it’s you. How are you?”

Deina answered with a happy grin. “I’m doing great. I was just calling to ask for some advice, but I have an announcement to make first.” She held up her left hand.

Xindra clapped her palms together and appeared genuinely pleased. “That’s wonderful. Congratulations.”

Quinn echoed the sentiment. He also appeared far more at ease. “So who’s the lucky guy?”

“I have you to thank for bringing us together. He’s one of your students.”

She watched them think furiously, obviously trying to figure out who it must be.

Xindra guessed first. “Do you mean Glynn?”

Deina nodded.

“That’s great.” Xindra seemed to approve. “I don’t know him well, but he seems like a nice, dependable guy.”

“And he’s a lot of fun once you get to know him.” Deina liked that she was the only one who’d seen that side of him.

“Uh-oh.” Quinn winced. “I think I can guess what the advice is about.”

Xindra caught on at the same time. “Semhyms have a very problematic sexual chemistry.”

“So I’ve noticed.” Deina was glad they understood. “Glynn thinks I’m a good match, but we haven’t had proof positive yet.” She debated about how much to say. In the end, she decided to treat this like a medical consultation. “Although he comes really hard every time, he hasn’t managed a drop of ejaculate yet.”

Xindra tapped her bottom lip thoughtfully. “That’s a good sign he’s climaxing regularly.”

“It may take a little time,” Quinn suggested. “Semhym males don’t hit a decline in their fertility until their early forties, so he’s still virile. It sounds like your chemistry is good and there’s nothing wrong with his libido.”

“Is there anything I can do to jump start his system? Get the juices flowing?” Glynn had given her everything she wanted. Deina would do whatever she could to return the favor.

Xindra nodded. “You might try massaging his testicles or stimulating his prostate.”

It was certainly worth a shot. “Thanks. I’ll try it.”

Quinn started to say something, but stopped and exchanged a look with his wife. “What about this coming week?” he asked her aside.

For a moment, Xindra stared at him. Then she appeared to grasp whatever it was he was asking her. “That’s a great idea.” She faced Deina again. “This week is the last class of our Sex Ed course. So far, we don’t have anyone to model for us, so we’ve been stuck with our backup plan. If we have to, we’ll do a sort of recap and leave it at that. It would be much more interesting, though, if we could finish with a fresh topic.”

Deina wasn’t quite following. “You want me to model again?” They’d already covered New Earthling physiology, and now that she and Glynn were together, she had no intention of sleeping with other males.

Quinn elaborated. “We’d love for you to model with your new fiancé. To date, we haven’t covered Semhym sexuality, and we know Glynn is comfortable with modeling a full intercourse demonstration.”

“What?” Deina was sure her eyebrows must be flirting with her bangs. “How do you know that?”

“Uh…” Quinn suddenly wouldn’t make eye contact. “It was on his application. We asked all the students how far they were willing to go.”

“Sure.” Deina turned to his wife. “Glynn modeled for a class already, didn’t he? When?”

To her credit, Xindra didn’t try to lie. “Over five weeks ago. He was one of three partners for the main model.”

“I see.” Deina did, too.

Just over five weeks ago, Glynn had asked her to stop dating other men, and she’d refused. She’d been afraid of limiting her options. At the time, he’d been quiet about it, but now she realized he’d been far more upset than he’d let on.

She glanced from Xindra to Quinn. “That’s okay. We all know one-night stands don’t mean anything. It’s whom you end up with in the end that matters.”

Quinn’s face turned mottled red, but Xindra laughed.

“I like you,” the Allurian woman announced. “So what do you think? Will you and Glynn model for us?”

“Put us down for the whole package.”

Quinn cleared his throat. “Shouldn’t you talk this over with him first?”

Deina waved that away. “He’ll be game. If he pretends otherwise, I’ll just have to convince him.” She was sure her limber body was up for the task.

On that note, they ended the conversation with plans for the class Tuesday night. After Deina gathered her work clothes for Monday morning, she headed back to Glynn’s place. The smell of baked goods, meat, and cheese hit her the moment she walked through the door and led her unerringly to the kitchen. Although the food was obviously prepackaged and reheated, she knew Glynn would have gone for the more expensive brands. It looked really good.

“You’re back.” He kissed her and helped her into her seat at the kitchen table. “Everything all right?”

Deina savored a bite of melted sandwich. All their lovemaking had left her famished.

“Mmm, fine.” She grinned at him around the crumbs. “You’re locked into this engagement now. I called almost everybody I know to brag about it.”

Far from appearing disturbed by the publicity, Glynn looked pleased. She certainly didn’t have to worry about commitment issues with him.

She waited a beat before speaking again. “I hope you don’t mind, but I also made plans for us Tuesday night.”

He paused with his fork halfway to his mouth. “Tuesday is my last class.” Studying her for a second, his expression softened again. “But I can miss it if you’d like to do something fun.”

If she hadn’t already been in love with him, Deina would have fallen for him now. Perfect-attendance Glynn was being flexible for her.

“Oh, I have something fun in mind, all right. Don’t worry, though. You won’t miss your class.”

“We’ll have time for both?”

Deina chuckled. “Simultaneously. We’re modeling this week.”

“We’re—” Glynn’s voice trailed off. She hadn’t seen him so flummoxed since she’d strapped on that dildo.

“Mark it down in your appointment book,” she teased him.

“You want to do this?”

“Yes. I already told Quinn and Xindra we would. We’ll give a full intercourse demo, only this time you’ll be the main attraction.”

His expression turned guarded. “This time?”

If he hadn’t looked so worried, she would have laughed. “That’s right, you hussy. Your secret is out. I know you gave the class a preview.”

Instead of relaxing him, her jibing had the opposite effect. His voice was solemn. “I’m sorry. I should have told you, but if you’ll let me explain—”
