December 1998—
A motorist sees “thylacine” near Pyengana. The driver described the animal as “dark tan with obvious stripes and a straight tail”.' ‘
January 1999—
Two Victorian trout fishermen driving near Great Lake see “thylacine”. They said it was “Golden-coloured”, “knee-high” and “very long” with “clear rump stripes”. They returned the next day to collect fur off fence-wire, droppings and footprints from the scene. Gave the evidence to authorities.'
