At
seven o’clock
on the dot, Elizabeth
was waiting by her doorway
dressed in a floor length black skirt and a red silk blouse.
She clutched firmly her
coat and purse when a limousine pulled up in front of her house
, a tingle of anticipation and fear dribbled down her spine
.

Elizabeth was impressed as
a uniformed chauffeur exited the car and came up to her door. Quickly locking her
front
door
behind
her, she followed the man back to the limo.

“This is all for me?”

“Yes, ma’am.
  Please step inside.”

He opened the back door and held it for her as she got into the vehicle.

Elizabeth enjoyed the sensation of sinking down into the buttery leather seats.
She hadn’t been in a car this nice since… well, forever!

The drive was long and silent as
her
driver
seemed to be a man of very few words.

“Who are we going to meet?  Is it nearby?”

“We will be there shortly, ma’am.”

She watched the scenic countryside as they continued to drive. Finally, the car took a turn onto a private tree-lined drive and came to a stop in front of what she could only describe as a mansion.

The driver turned off the car and came around to assist her
exit
. Smiling, he escorted her up a wide stone staircase to an enormous wrap around porch
and led her by hand
to a set of red double doors. He opened them and stepped aside so that she could enter. As she was gaping at the size of the foyer she now stood in, the driver closed the doors and
vanished
.

W
ondering what she would do next, a woman came to greet her.

“Hello, you must be Elizabeth,” she said warmly. “Come with me.”

Elizabeth was still in a bit of shock, but she followed the woman down a long hallway off which
there
were many doorways. The woman stopped in front of what was clearly a formal dining room. She stood aside and motioned for Elizabeth to enter this room.

“Enjoy your dinner,” she said, smiling and closing the doors as she left.

Elizabeth saw that the table was set with ornate finery as well as many lit candles and
several silver domed
covered dishes. She didn’t see her host at all until he stood up from one of the high backed chairs on one end of the table. When
they locked eyes
,
Elizabeth
gasped aloud and nearly fainted.

“Hello, Elizabeth,” the man said. “I’ve missed you so much.”

“Simon?” Elizabeth managed to squeak. “Is that you?”

“It is, darling,” he said.

“But how?
You…I… They said you were dead!”

“I know, Elizabeth. I promise to explain everything to you over dinner. Just know that I never stopped loving you.”

Still in shock, Elizabeth allowed herself to be seated at the table
.

Simon explained to her that h
is small start-up company had discovered a major flaw with a U.S. military weapons system being used, among other places, on Air Force One.  The contractor who was building the system had billions of dollars at stake and Simon’s life had been threatened.

“The defense contractor had built in a software exploit that could have threatened the President’s life!  The Secret Service confirmed that my own safety was in danger, and so was anyone that I cared about,” he said. “I was given no choice.  It would take months or years to isolate the threat.  No one was sure if the Chinese or some other nation was involved.”

During the last 4 years Simon had been working at a secure research facility in Wyoming.  His team had
been involved in some amazing top secret projects.

“There are many parts of the last few years that I will never be able to talk about,” he said somberly.  “But I am so thankful to be back here and with you.”

When his service was completed, he was returned home and a company that no one had ever heard of offered to buy out Simon’s little start-up business for a whopping $60 million.  It was
the government’s way of paying off Simon and his 2 partners – each man walked away with $20 million in their pocket to assure their long-term silence.

“You must know, Elizabeth, that I’ve never stopped thinking of you,” he said as they drank wine by the fire following
their long
dinner.

“I never forgot about you, either, Simon,” Elizabeth said. “I was destroyed when
they told me… when
I thought you were dead.”

“We have so much time to make up for,” he said as he gently removed the glass of wine from her hand and set it on the coffee table. Then, without another word, he took her into his arms and kissed her as if he were a drowning man seeking the life giving air
that only her lips could provide
.

Elizabeth needed no time to adjust to the situation. She was thrilled to feel Simon’s lips upon hers once more. The tip of his tongue teased the inside of her mouth
and she sucked it gently,
adding more fuel to their fire. Their bodies spoke a unique language of their own and there was no need for words. Simon broke the kiss and stood up. Scooping her up in his strong arms, he walked up the wide staircase carrying her with him to his master suite on the second floor.

Crossing through the sitting room to the bedroom, he laid her gently on a huge canopied bed. Joining her, they began to kiss once more. As their
passion grew, their clothes became a
nuisance that
was quickly
eliminated. Their naked bodies writh
ed
against each other as they used their hands and mouths to explore and stimulate.

Simon cupped Elizabeth’s full breasts in his hands and caress
ed
them as he moved his mouth from one nipple to the other. She gasped and arched her back as she clasped his head tightly to her chest. Moving one of her bare legs over the lower part of his back, she let him know how much she wanted him.

But Simon wanted something else just now. Tracing a trail of fire over her stomach and down between her upper thighs with his mouth, he used his tongue to part the fleshy petals that concealed her pleasure core. Elizabeth’s thighs parted even further apart as he used his tongue to tease her most sensitive area. As she was perching on the edge of her ecstasy, he stopped and moved back up her body.

A small whimper escaped her throat
.
She was now growing quite
desperate for release. Simon increased the anticipation by kissing her deeply once more, allowing her to taste herself on him.

Silently begging him to take her, she
locked her legs around Simon
and pushed her hips up against him. When the head of his burgeoning member touched her most intimate
of places, she moaned once again
.

Simon had been without this beautiful woman that he loved with every part of him for so long that he couldn’t deny either of them this highly anticipated
unification
. Poising over her, he pushed himself deeply into her inner moistness feeling her close over him like a velvet glove.

“Yes, Simon,” Elizabeth urged. “Yes!”

That was all that Simon needed to give them both what they needed. Speeding up to a rhythm that blocked out all
of their other senses,
the
lovers
cried out as they held onto tightly to each other.

Their release was now complete.

The two of them lay together, catching their breath. Simon finally leaned into Elizabeth’s mouth to give her one
more deep
, slow kiss. They had so missed this.

“Can you ever forgive me for
not finding some way of
contacting you?” Simon asked.

“I’m not entirely certain,” Elizabeth replied,
playfully
. “You may have to keep showing me just how
sorry
you are before I’m convinced.”

With those words, she started kissing him once more.

“Oh wait,” Elizabeth said as she broke their lip lock, “I have to make a quick phone call… Celia is never going to believe this!”

Rekindling the Fire

Andrea watched
as a few early
snowflakes gently
drifted through the air, it was a beautiful scene to behold.  She was looking out the
front window of the cabin that she and her husband, John, owned. This was their getaway destinatio
n several times throughout the year, and t
he majority of
their summer weekends
were also spent here.

The cabin
was a beautiful and peaceful place high in the mountains
of North Georgia
. Constructed from actual wooden logs, it consisted of one long room, a bedroom and a bathroom. The long room held a kitchenette at one end with an eat-in bar and a sitting area. The focal point of this room was a large stone fireplace located in the center of the room. There was a fire blazing brightly in it just now, creating
a cozy
warmth inside the cabin.

Andrea
absolutely
loved it here. She found it to be one of the most romantic places on earth. It was just too bad that John didn’t seem to be much in the mood for romance these days. Actually, Andrea couldn’t remember the last time she and John had spontaneously
done the deed
.

If she were honest with herself, she couldn’t remember the
last time that they had had relations
of any kind
, spontaneous or otherwise
.

At first, she had tried to blame it
on his age because he was now in his 4
0
’s
after all. But in looking back, she realized that the distance had begun when he was as young as
35
. She hated hearing her friends talk about their active sex lives. These women were her age
, late 30’s and early 40’s, and they seemed to be living
quite eventful li

s
in the bedroom as well as out of it.

She heard the door to the cabin open and turned to find John entering and kicking
a little slush
from his boots. He looked up and saw her watching him.

“It seems to be getting colder out there and the snow is picking up some,” he said. “I heard a weather report that this is a lot worse than they had originally thought it would. We might wish that we had headed home earlier.”

“Well, we’ve got enough food and water for several days,” Andrea pointed out. “The wood should hold out and keep us warm if we get snowed in for a bit. You know the snow plows always head up this way when there’s a bad snow storm.”

“Yes, I suppose you’re right,” John said. “I just didn’t want to miss class on Monday. My students are learning some key music sections for the competition.”

“Oh, we may not be here that long,” Andrea tried to reassure him. “Besides, wouldn’t it be a little romantic to be stranded her for a few days; just the two of us?”

John made some sort of face and pretended that he didn’t hear her while focusing instead on the bottom of his boot. That was the sort of treatment that Andrea had become accustomed to during the last ten years of their marriage. It
w
as
as
if John had suddenly flipped some sort of an OFF switch that turned him into almost an asexual being.

The pair
spent a quiet evening eating dinner and then reading
next to
the fire. The bedroom was a little cooler than the front
part of the cabin so they left the door open
in order to allow some heat in from the fireplace. John made it point to keep the fire going most of the night even if he had to keep getting up and down to do so.

The next morning
when Andrea looked out her window she
was a c
ompletely different story. She knew it had been noisy and windy overnight, but now
she realized that they were in blizzard conditions. The wind howled and the snow was coming down so fast and hard that she could barely see anything other than a gray and white world. John came in from the bedroom and observed the scene outside in silence. He walked back over to the fireplace and stoked the fire some more.

When he attempted to open the front door, he found that it was completely blocked from the outside by high snowdrifts. He turned to face Andrea with a very serious look on his face. She knew this was bad.

“I’m not sure that we have enough wood to last us through the night
tonight
,” he said. “And I can’t get outdoors to start up the generator.”
