Nik inhaled sharply and Bobby glanced at him, surprised to see tears in those dark green eyes of his.

“What did I say?”

“Nothing really.” Nik jerked Bobby’s head down and crushed their lips together in a quick kiss before letting him go with a slap to his ass. “Get moving, buddy. I’m aching to come.”

“So am I.”

Bobby hooked Nik’s legs over his arms and started pounding Nik’s ass. The salty scent of sweat and sex filled the air along with the steady slap of skin on skin. Nik braced one hand against the headboard to keep from banging his head into it. The other he wrapped around his cock, pumping in rhythm with Bobby’s thrusts.

Harsh panting echoed through the room. Pressure built along Bobby’s spine, pooling at the base and drawing his balls tight to his body.

“Nik,” he warned.

Nik clenched his inner passage around Bobby’s cock, milking him as Bobby’s climax broke.

“Fuck,” Bobby shouted, buried his dick as deep inside Nik as he could and froze, flooding Nik’s ass with his cum.

“God!”

Nik’s cum painted his stomach and hands while Bobby shuddered and collapsed on top of Nik.

“Ompf.”

“Sorry.”

Bobby rolled to the side, keeping a hand on Nik’s chest. Their heartbeats slowed and evened out as their breathing calmed as well. Grinning, Bobby stared up at the ceiling. After a few minutes, Nik climbed out of bed and went to the bathroom. When he came back, he cleaned Bobby off before tossing the washcloth into a laundry basket nearby.

They slipped under the blankets and snuggled close. It seemed like a good time for a nap. Nik had other ideas.

“Did you talk to Jablonsky earlier today?”

“Yes.” Bobby rolled onto his side and braced his head on his hand to look down at Nik.

“Why?”

“Did he say anything about Professor Lattimer or the society?”

“Lattimer’s still missing. They’ve completed the search of his house, but there’s nothing. Not so much as a scrap of paper to indicate where he’s gone.”

“And the others?”

“I didn’t tell you this before?” He frowned as he thought about what his partner had told him earlier. “Jablonsky got pictures and names of all the men who showed up for that meeting. They’ll keep the society’s members under surveillance. If they do anything wrong, we’ll be there to snap their asses up.”

“Why can’t you arrest them now?” Nik sounded indignant. “They hurt young boys.

They had a hand in killing those people.”

“No, they didn’t. Lawler killed four of them and Thompson killed the others. We have no proof they did anything to that stable of boys Lawler talked about. It’s terrible and horrible for those boys, but it’s an unfortunate fact of our justice system. We can’t arrest them on rumour.” Bobby traced Nik’s ribs.

“That’s not fair.”

Bobby brushed a kiss over Nik’s cheek. “I know that, love, but it’s a fact of life. We’ll do what we can to catch them doing something illegal and put them in jail. Trust me. Guys like that don’t change their stripes.”

“I just…”

He pressed a finger to Nik’s lips. “Let’s talk about something else. Who is going to move in with whom?”

“What?” Surprise raced across Nik’s face.

“You weren’t expecting that? Hell, Nik, I’ve practically lived here since I was shot. It makes sense to live together. I plan on spending a great deal of time with you, and I hate sleeping by myself. Why keep two places? We can combine our stuff.”

Nik seemed to think about it, and Bobby drummed his fingers on Nik’s stomach.

Finally, he couldn’t take it anymore. “What the hell is there to think about?”

Nik rocketed into Bobby’s arms and covered his face with kisses. “Hell yeah, I’ll move in with you. Actually, I think you should move in with me since I own this house and you rent. You probably don’t have as much stuff as I do either. And my house is closer to the university.”

“Shit. That means I have to ride the damn subway into the precinct until my car’s ready.” Bobby frowned.

“Oh, we can wait until your car is ready. That way you wouldn’t have to take the bus or anything.” Nik looked disappointed at the thought of Bobby not moving in right away.

“Sweetheart, I’d take the subway all the way to Albany if it meant I could sleep with you every night.” He kissed Nik. “I’ll call Jablonsky and see when I can get him to help me move.”

He cuddled Nik close and sighed. God, he adored the feeling of Nik next to him and it looked like he would get to have the man he loved forever.

“I love you,” he whispered in Nik’s ear.

“I love you as well, Detective Marks. Who would have thought wine meant for Vlad Dracul could bring two such different people together?”

“Yeah. The world’s weird like that.”

He closed his eyes and synced his breathing with Nik until they both drifted off to sleep.

“A package from the United States has arrived for you, Sir.”

“Thank you, Steven. Have it taken to my office.”

“Yes, Sir.”

He smiled at the thought of the long awaited crate. Pity he’d had to go all the way to America to buy something that had originally come from the region he lived in. Jules Worthington finished off his coffee and strode through to his office.

As expected, the shipping crate sat on a protective pad on top of his hundred-year old French Gothic desk. A small, manageable, crowbar sat next to the invaluable wooden box.

“Excellent.”

Jules turned back to his secretary, sitting just outside the office. “Hold my calls, Steven.

I do not wish to be disturbed.”

“Yes, Sir.”

Jules locked his office door and circled his desk several times, eyeing the crate. If the research they’d spent millions of dollars to obtain was correct, the contents of the unobtrusive wooden box would change the face of history.

Standing behind his desk, he picked up the crowbar and carefully began removing the top of the crate. With a squeal of protest, the last nail fell to the padding below. Jules set down the crowbar and lifted the lid to peer inside. He was perturbed by all the packaging material, but finally dug his way to his prize.

“There you are, my lovely. We’ve got great plans for you.”

Jules reached for the phone and punched in the prearranged number. As he waited, he couldn’t resist running a hand over the aged pottery.

“Yes.”

“It’s here,” Jules announced, pulling his hand back as if the person on the other end of the phone would catch his indiscretion.

“Good. You know what to do.”

“Yes, Your Majesty. I’ll take care of it.”
